I felt like he truly wanted to help me reach my goals of becoming more mindful. He taught me that self care and mindfulness starts with intentional breathing. Not only does he do it with you breath by breath, he teaches you how the techniques play a greater part for your body and overall health & wellness. In addition to the breath work, I did 40min in the infrared sauna at 130F. I was able to practice the breathing techniques in a toasty and clean private space. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. I think the class happens every Tuesday/Thursday at 8:30AM and the fee was 20$ each. They provide some mats to share and recommend you cover them with a beach towel. The teaching included an opening meditation as well as a flow and some closing stretches. I would say the class was all-levels and appropriate for beginner yogis, and I think more advanced students could adjust as they see fit to do more challenging poses as well as enjoy the mindfulness opportunity of being near the ocean. I think everyone would enjoy this beautiful class with the delightful Anya. She also taught in combination with her fiance, which was very pleasant. I would recommend this class as a nice peaceful thing to do while visiting the beautiful garden isle of Kauai.

A group of friends and myself trekked our way to the beach and we were welcomed by friendly Abhi. We placed our mats by the beach and he led us through a wonderful one hour, 15 minute class which included stretching, meditation, and some challenging poses. I attend yoga when I am at home in San Francisco a fair amount (I like vinyasa yoga with a bit of challenge), and Abhi's class was one of my favorite yoga classes that I have ever taken. He was a great instructor and kept the class relaxing and engaging; never once did I feel bored or that it was too difficult. He has a very calm presence and helps you out with your poses as well. The instructor I had was motivating, the studio itself is welcoming and they provide all the (very nice) props you need. A couple things to note... You will need sticky sole socks for class, they sell them there but the least expensive is $15. Just an FYI, had I known this before I would have brought my own. I don't personally like working out with the socks, but I understand why they are necessary. Classes are fast paced! This is not a bad thing, but just something to be aware of. I take barre regularly and kept up. But it was a challenging class...in a good way! I'll definitely be back on my next trip and highly recommend checking it out. We walk down the coconut bike path to a beautiful grassy area by the water, which immediately puts us at ease. Immediately, we're welcomed with opened arms and a smiling Renata. As we settle in, people are trickling in and the energy is simply contagious. We love the flows (for all ages and levels) and adjustments. Goat yoga in Anahola was pure joy. I feel like we all connected to our inner playful child as well…read moreas the beauty of Kaua'i. After we checked in, we put our things away near by and were given a mat and towel. We all gathered inside the gazebo then, Kaala shared a bit of history about Kaua'i and the Kalealea mountain range in front of us before giving Shira the thumbs up to send the goats to us. The goats came charging excitedly down the hill, ready to hang out with us and snack on the animal crackers spread around our mats. Shira lead us into several yoga poses and stretches while the goats brought us many laughs, smiles and encouragement. It was such a unique and fun experience having these animals entertain us! Watching them jump on people's backs, head but each other and ignore our personal space was absolutely adorable and hilarious. After our sweet session with Shira and the goats, she took pictures of each group who attended to capture more memories with the goats. I have a small back so the goats were weary to jump on mine for a picture, but nonetheless we still got great photos and a few selfies! Of course we had to check out the school bus revamped into a goat yoga shop. I bought a cute brown crop top with an 808 goat yoga logo in front and a cool drawing of the bus and goats on the back. There were also shirts, pullovers, tanks, hats, stickers and yoga mats for purchase. Venmo and cash is accepted. If you are visiting Kaua'i you have to check this place out. Worth every penny! This was easily one of my favorite and most memorable parts of the trip. Such a fun atmosphere and experience for a great price. You can tell these goats love their life and are well taken care of. Shira and Kaala clearly put a lot of work and TLC into making sure everyone benefits from the experience, goats and people. You can bet you'll feel better after than when you arrived.
