At times Sam's club becomes a necessity, and when traveling to Utah for my daughter's wedding, it definitely fit the bill. We were in need of ice, beverages, chips, meat, bread etc for the pre-wedding festivities, and Sam's had them all. To make everything better, it was SO much CHEAPER than the Sam's in Honolulu, Hawaii. Heck, it's like everything is on a super sale when visiting the mainland. Great location, plenty of parking, friendly staff and since I use the scan and go app, efficiency was achieved. I visit Sam's every weekend at home, and if I were to live in Ogden, I'm sure I would frequent this joint every weekend, or more as well. read more

The store the café is great very courteous very kind. no important. I am pacifically talking about the tire center. I asked the Teammate if I could schedule an appointment and he just persisted to say well can't do until then can't do until then. Instead of just listen to me and take a deep breath with me even listening. He just can't do until Tuesday can't do until Tuesday. I don't feel like that was the best way to represent Sam's Club. my next comment to him was I'm going somewhere else if you can't listen to what I'm trying to say and explain then you're not giving me the time and day and why would I want you to work on my vehicle if you can't even listen to the customer. read more

This review is primarily for the Sam's Club Tire Center. Their warranty policies are giving scam. We purchased 4 tires a few years ago and have now had multiple issues with the same tire. The first time they repaired it (poorly.) Now the second time they could not repair it because their previous (insufficient) repair failed. The could not replace the tire because the manufacturer has come out with an "updated version." Even though the tires are within warranty. Because it is a "different" tire, they will not even prorate a purchase of only 2 tires to effectively replace they one their repair failed on. They require we purchase 4 tires to get a prorated warranty rate. Its giving scam, considering our old tires had quite a few miles left on them and only 1 tire had the issue (and it was due to their failed repair job.) On top of that, even for this warranty purchase they STILL charge an installation fee. So one tire with one issue that was a result of a failed repair by Sam's Club cost us between $400-$500 dollars. Also, as our membership expired a few days ago and needing renewal (we were going to renew anyway, just stopped at tire center first) they will not honor a warranty purchase after membership expiration (unless renewed.) That wasn't a problem for us, but felt it should be inlcuded in case others run into a similar situation but were not planning to renew. read more

This is one of the nicer and bigger Sam's Clubs in Utah. Don't understand all the hate for it - had a lot more selection than our smaller store in Reno, and products were more in stock. Only bad thing is that the parking lot and approaches into the store are a bit goofy, as was the gas station. read more

When I entered the building I went to membership services to request a new member card as I had misplaced mine. I smiled and made eye contact with the employee in member services and started speaking to her letting her know I had lost my card and asked if she could help me further with the issue or inform me of how to get it replaced. She looked me in the eye and ignored me and proceeded to speak to her coworker and greeted other customers as they walked in. I said "excuse me?" And she then called her coworker to come help me without Acknowledging me. Her coworker was fast and efficient and friendly. As her coworker was helping me another customer for in line for their help and she told this other customer that her coworker would help her soon. As time passed and her coworker was still helping me she sighs and says to her coworker that she GUESSES she will take care of the waiting customer. I'm sorry, what? I mostly come here for gas. Well, gas and free samples. Most of the items here price out to be pretty similar to other stores that don't require you to purchase in bulk. Sam's club can sometimes be cheaper (if you want to save 50 cents on a 20 pack) and even sometimes more (especially during sales). However, they offer some fun seasonal stuff that I've enjoyed. Their discount gift cards are nice if they carry places you like. Their cheese blend is really nice too. read more

I had to go to Sam's club my car battery died. I had bought it from a different Sam's club almost 3 years ago so it was still under warranty. Dealing with warranties at any other store for anything always seems to be difficult, but today couldn't have gone any easier. A young lady named Sasha in the tire center was very helpful and was the nicest person in any kind of auto shop I've ever felt with. Out of the two Sam's Club in Layton/Ogden area this is the one I prefer. I really like the selection of items at this store and the gas is cheaper too. The layout and selection are big pluses to this store as it seems less cramped inside. It seems that this Sam's will carry a better selection of vacuum sealed meats then the one in Layton. For some reason Ogden gas is cheaper then Layton gas by quite a bit sometimes. I also like that this Sam's seems to have smaller crowds inside the store. read more

It pains me to rate Sam's Club this low as i've been shopping here with my parents for my whole life (even when it was located on Wall Avenue by Anderson Lumber). When I got married, we bought our own membership at Sam's. The problem I had, was with the lady who works at the little stand by the locking cages by the food court. I grabbed a paper slip to buy a tablet, and it was stamped: "Last One". Which to me, tells me that they have one more to sell. So I went up to the register, and the cashier walked over to the locked cage to get the item for me. She walks back and tells me that they only have the display unit, and that the Layton location has 3. The employee from the locking caged area comes over and I ask her if the Layton store is selling the item for the same 399 price, and she says no. She said that price was only because it was marked down 20% for the display unit. So I asked why it didn't say "Display Unit" and she said that's what "Last One" means. Maybe to Sam's Club employees that's what it means, but everywhere else i've bought electronics, if it's the display unit for sale they mark the tag "DISPLAY UNIT". Rc Willey does it, Best Buy does it. Circuit City used to do it. Now i'm fine with Sam's doing things their own way, but I don't need the snippy employees being sarcastic and telling me: "That's what 'last one' means!" No, it isn't! Customers could take that any number of ways because it's vague. To top it off, I called the Layton Sam's Club and they said that unit was indeed 399 for a brand new in the box unit. So the employee at Sam's tried to sell me the display unit for full price when I could have got it brand new in the box for that same amount. That destroyed a lot of trust that I used to have in Sam's Club electronics. read more

This review is focused on the pharmacy. There is zero privacy and the pharmacy assistants always talk so loudly that the person standing on your heels can hear everything. I don't need the person behind me hearing about my birth control or low iron. It's been this way consistently for years and I've finally taken my business elsewhere. Why did I just get a Sam's Club membership again?! I had one three years ago and while we did grab a few good deals, we found that shopping at Smith's and Costco fit our needs better. Plus I'm not a huge fan of the meat and produce at this location. I've gone to get fruit on more than one occasion to find it already moldy. Fast forward to now. My husband needed some items from Sam's club for his tie-dying hobby (plastic gloves and plastic bags) and Sam's has them cheaper than anywhere around PLUS there's a "steal of a deal" for a membership - it was something like $35 for the membership, but you get $25 in instant savings! Lies. It's not instant, you have to come back in a few days to get the savings because they take a while to actually load to your card. Then they couldn't get our cards to print out with our picture, it kept printing off a different member's picture. Seriously? I think the employee might have been able to figure it out faster if she wasn't so concerned at looking at her phone every 60 seconds. Finally after a 30+ minute process to just joining we went and found the goods that we needed. Then we headed to the self-checkout since we had two items, but it wouldn't take our credit card! Turns out the other self-checkouts were all having the same problem. Finally an employee came by and saw that we were having issues, but she didn't stop to help! After about ten minutes of trying to get it to check us out, we finally got checked out. I get it - things don't always go smooth. But if I was at Costco, I 100% guarantee you that a helpful and kind employee would have at least been helping us out. I'm a Costco fan for life. But, I do have a Sam's Club membership for the next year so let's see if they can change my mind. read more
