Their veg Samosas had a pastry crust that even Paul Hollywood would begrudgingly enjoy, and their garlic nan had a crispiness I haven't had before but was *delicious.* But Salt Lake has good Indian already... The Afghani was the part to get excited about--not just good for Utah, but better than 90% of the Afghani food I have had anywhere. The chicken kebab was so tender and full of flavor, and the lamb was amazing. The Mantu (beef dumplings with a yogurt sauce) was fantastic. I could eat that every day. Their pita was also excellent--some of them best I have had. And their rice was so good that we actually kept eating it even after we ran out of sauce. The only items that weren't excellent were the beef kebab (not much flavor) and the chick peas (also not much flavor and the sauce was a little thin). Otherwise this place knocked it out of the park. So I waddled to the counter and I said "I need the bathroom key I'm dying man" in a sarcastic tone and the skinny male employee with a ratty ponytail ignored me. The tuna salad, which is made by the deli, had way too much pepper. I went back and asked the cashier for a refund. He called the manager, who asked what was wrong. I explained the issues with both items, and he told me he couldn't give me a refund because I simply "didn't like them." I understand that a business may have a refund policy, but for a $10 purchase, I would have expected at least a little customer service or a gesture of goodwill. Instead, there was no attempt to offer any solution. I told the manager I wasn't happy with the experience. His response was simply, "Okay." It's not about the $10. It's about how a business chooses to treat a customer who has a legitimate complaint about products they prepared and sold. In this case, I found the customer service very disappointing.

Then to get back on, just go one block north, hang a louie on 500 S and it's a full tank free-for-all. Hey, you're at the crossroads of the west, brother. Get on 15 and land in Mexico or Canada. Or hop on 80 and find yourself chilling in San Francisco or the far east (of the USA). All that from a little gas station. Sure, she's not pretty. Pretty tiny? Yes. A hair sketchy. Hmmm, yeah. The slurpees were good, as always, but the reason I'm writing the review is because the night employee who was working was very friendly and was making small talk with all the customers and seemed to have friends in the community. It is always nice to see people who make the most of their jobs which others may consider undesirable. He commented on my boyfriend's shirt and we made some small talk, and it was overall a positive experience and we enjoyed our slurpees.
