Not building a gas station here was a huge mistake. The closest Sam's Clubs with gas stations on the west side are 30 minutes away in Novi and Ypsilanti. The new BJ's Wholesale down the road built a gas station. I'm sure that will deservedly siphon away customers from this Sam's Club. read more

I recently had four tires installed on my car. They admittedly had the best price in the area, but I don't recommend having your tires installed here, if you have a desire to maintain the look and integrity of your wheels. All four wheels were extremely scratched up, you could see that what ever tool they were using to remove the tires had gauged the edges of the wheels. A few days later I found my car in the driveway with a flat tire, took it to the shop near me to find out that my rim was cracked which it why it wasn't holding air. Based on gauge marks on my rims they broke it while putting on the new tires and never mention to me at pick up. Highly disappointed, especially considering how much I frequent this location for groceries and houseware items. read more

This location has been here for years and we've been shopping here all along. It is usually clean and well stocked, but the employees could do better. They are not very friendly. In fact, most times I'm in the store, I don't think most even recognize my presence. Even so we keep going there for certain deals like allergy pills, contact solution, bottled water, Gatorade, Members Mark Omeprazole, rotisserie chicken, lunch meat, cheese, protein drinks, and tortilla chips. As far as my groceries, I can usually pay less with a sale and coupons else where. Tip: Download the scan and go app on your smart phone. The staff is not pleasant. Curbside pick up is unorganized and has no real rhyme or reason. It does not make sense to have scheduled pick up times and then overbook the slots. Literally over 30 cars waiting for a 1 hour block with short staffing. If you go: pack your patience with nothing to do afterwards. I scheduled 6-7pm pick up and after waiting 30 mins with 2 cars being helped with over 30 ahead of me I left. I have no problem waiting but it should be realistic. Kroger pick up has always been seamless and within the window assigned. Limit the number of people that are allowed to obtain a slot. My first visit to this location in life and I won't be back besides another attempt to pick up my groceries tomorrow with a good book to read. Customer service staff also does not answer the phone close to closing tome. I literally had a question to ask the manager regarding process and I was blown off outside. read more

UPDATE: I received a call from the DM for my area. He was very professional and the issue is being resolved to my satisfaction and I was assured the pharmacist will not be treating customers with rude disrepect in the future. I have his phone number if I ever have another issue. I have decided to move my prescriptions but keep my membership and CC for now. I give the admin of Sam's Club Facebook page and the DM for my area, Charles, 5 stars!! Pharmacist (female pharmacist) customer service sucks!! I received a rx and 1/4 was missing. I called immediately and was told told to call the manufacturer. I did and the manufacturer called the pharmacy with 2 possible solutions and they declined both. This is for medication i already paid for and if they correct it they can receive full credit but declined this remedy. Told to me by the manufacturer. Now that I know that the pharmacy has chosen not to fix it they have lost me as a customer including canceling my CC. I was trying to decide which to keep my Costco card and membership or my Sam's Club card and membership. Well, Sam's made the decision easy. I refuse to patronize a business that refuses to give the best customer service possible. This reaction and refusal to make it right. Lying to me by saying, they'll lose money when the manufacturer told me they wouldn't lose anything and would get a full credit. All I was asking for is a replacement. This is not the one location usually I visit, but I have been there few times here. Today I stopped by to get my car battery replaced. Stopped by desk near auto section and asked the guy about battery in st. He asked the year, make, model and grabbed the battery. I don't know how many options were there with different battery brands. He brought duracell and I was fine as I decided to go with that only already before stopping by there. It would have been great if he mentioned more about available brands. He mentioned it will take about 30 minutes and got my contact number and went to shopping. Also asked for windshield wiper replacement. Got the call when I was in the midst of shopping. It was quicker than mentioned time. The one thing I hate in this location is about checkout times. Otherwise, you may want to run away from this store at all costs. Be warned the employees will lie to you about signing up for their plus membership. I was told I could come in anytime to redeem my plus membership rebate, only to find out it had expired. Costco, by comparison, mails your rebate to you, no worry about no longer being able to claim it. On the positive side, they do add extra protein to their baked goods, such as flies. read more

OH My !! OH MY!!! WE LOVE SAM's CLUB!! We had the best experience today. We always have wonderful experiences here! The people that have raved about the bakery are so right! They have the best birthday cakes and rolls and everything they make there on the premises is wonderful tasting and great prices! Ok..so I have a great story to tell you! We visited Sam's club/Canton, MI today. It was our first time visiting the Optical center at Sam's club. The Optician, "Marie" was wonderfully kind, nice and sweet. She was so helpful to call our old eye Dr. and try and get the prescription for my daughters' contact lenses. She was even spoken rudely to and hung up on twice by the women at the "Vison Center" in Canton,MI! She took it like a trooper and was just the nicest lady ever! She even said that we shouldn't be upset but we should "pray for them"...LOL...we are definitely going to do that! So back to the service at Sam's Club...my daughter got 8 boxes of her Acue view Oasis contact lenses for $180.00 and our insurance pays 150.00 so therefore she got a whole year's worth of contact lenses for only about 30.00!!! What a great price, huh? The other place we'd gone at the Vision Center in Canton, MI charges 33.00 per box and what a savings down to 23.00 per box, at a 10.00 per box savings!!! Can you even believe it?? We are very happy and excited about this news! Not only can you get a great birthday cake that is fresh and tasty. But you can get your new eyeglasses, contact lenses and even fresh flowers at a much lower price than anyplace else! If you visit Sam's club you just have to go and see "Marie" because she is just the most pleasant person we've run across when dealing with anything in the vision/eyeglasses field! She was patient and sweet and just a wonderful person and employee. As we were waiting the hour that it took the Vision Center to fax over our prescription for contacts, my daughter and I got a "frozen coke" which refreshed us and made us feel even better! I had such a bad experience on Saturday March 25 at around 6 PM after paying my groceries on the self checkout I stopped by the Customer Service desk to pay my Bill( card membership) the lady on the desk was very helpful but said she can't help me because she had a line and that I need to stop by cashier to pay it... It didn't make sense to stop all the way on the line to pay my bill. I asked another one as there was a big line if I really need to wait to pay my bill?! She replied yes and because it was my only day I can stop by I accepted and waited on the line.5 minutes later there was another person who had the same issue but they didn't make her wait on the line they opened a cashier for her!!!! That's very bad while you were waiting I came before her but she was helped first what kind of service is that ?! I asked the person if there is a reason to make me wait to pay the bill while someone else came after me and was helped and treated differently.She was very rude and unprofessional she said I don't have an explanation she didn't even apologize for this wrong behavior because if she was to open a cashier she could help me when I first asked she made me wait on the big line while I paid already for my groceries while other people were treated differently?!! It's OK. After all it is Sam Walton's Special Club for his special customers! Or is it still? We were given a free 1day pass so we decided to use it. Hence all the pictures on my yelpish candid camera on my iphone while my wife did the shopping. As you see there are lots of stuff for y'all to get if you want it in bulk. But is it discounted? Is it cheaper than Wallyworld? I do not think so. Yes some are, but not everything. That bottle of 700ml Remy Martin VSOP for $39.99 where is the discount? We can get the same thing in Meijers down the street in Belleville for the same price. So why spend an extra $45 an year to get a Sam's Club card? This is why! If you want to shop for lots of kids and family members you get cereal and cookies etc in bulk. But some of the prices are just as high or maybe even more than if you walked into a Walmart or a Meijers. *An update to the Remy Martin price issue, thanks to my fellow yelper, Dave D: That price is a Michigan State Minimum.* But this one was strange, so when y'all go for a one day pass to Sam's please do take cash or Mastercard with you, for Sam's (at this location anyhow) does not accept a VISA credit card. It will accept a VISA debit, if you have that feature, but Mastercard is accepted. (Thank God I had some cash or else me and my wife would have been holding up that line trying to get rid of stuff). I ordered $100 worth of merchandise at Sam'sclub.com. The merchandise was delivered to the wrong house. Going by the picture it was my neighbors that I don't get along with to well. They said they didn't get them. When I did an online chat the representative said you have to go to the store location to inquire about the order. I paid an extra $12 for a delivery fee that was so I didn't have to go to the store. So I went to the bbb website and got the number to contact them. They said I had to call 1800Walmart. When I called 1800Walmart they put me on hold then hung up on me. Then I called again and they told me they would get back with me later. Seriously they sent my stuff somewhere other than where it was supposed to go. What is their problem they act as though I was the one that caused the problem. read more

The store was very busy yet Shannon took the time to help us look up a particular model which typically sells out instantly as soon as it's in stock. 30 minutes later, Shannon was helping us coordinate taking the store model. A successful trip that was also quick. We went to optical to have our glasses adjusted then quickly went to three other areas before heading to self cash out station. We were then surprised when our membership had a reward balance of $110.00 thus costing us only about $8.00 for the trip. Perfect ending to a quick trip. read more

This location has the best bakery of all the clubs. The cakes alone are worth the trip. I know I can always find new and creative concoctions This location also has liquor and offers a nice selection. Many of the locations have only beer and wine. All in all you do need to be a cautious shopper. It is very easy to overshop at all the locations. read more

This place is terrible. I was just in there today and it was all a mess. I needed help locating a product that showed in stock via the Sam's club app. Finding an employee is nearly impossible. But get this, I was able to finally locate a woman who gave me the old "if it's not on the shelf, it's not in stock". I made sure to reiterate that it did show up as in stock through the app. She then said she was helping two other people. No problem, I'll wait! She pages another employee to help her with whatever she was looking for. After about 15 mins of waiting (which is a lifetime for a 8+ month pregnant woman), this person walks right past me. Says NOTHING. So I say forget it and my husband and I proceed to check out. We find this woman there speaking on assigning breaks etc to the cashier. Come to find out, this is the SUPERVISOR. I realized there simply is no point in engaging her. We leave. And I promise never to renew my membership. Back to Costco! read more

I've been a Sam's Club member at Canton since 2013. This location has gone downhill in the last few years. Oftentimes when I go there, their carts are never waiting in the stalls. Yet when I ask about why the staff isn't stocking the carts, I get a response of, "We're really busy" which isn't a good excuse when I pay $80.00 per year as a Plus Member ($45.00/year for regular membership). I PAY good money to shop there, yet many of the staff (not all) have lazy, bad attitudes. Staff isn't very helpful, and there's never enough lanes open at checkout, so you end up waiting between 10-20 minutes in line! My membership is up for renewal in December 2019, but I'll be getting a Costco membership instead which is a lot farther away but has way better customer service, shorter wait lines at checkout, and carts are always available. The reason I know about Costco is because my mother-in-law has a Costco membership, so I've gone with her to Costco several times. Sam's Club does offer great deals but it's at the cost of your time spent there with frustration! read more

I definitely prefer this location over the Carpenter Road location. Sams Club always has good deals going on. We love going here for our cat litter, laundry detergent, diapers and more. Their store brand products work great. Staff is usually helpful when we need it, not that we need it very often. Sometimes the clothes are pretty messy but people just toss through them. Whenever I come here I always stop at the concessions for a pretzel. The past two times I've come here they have been out of pretzels. So I decided on getting an all meat slice of pizza since it was sitting behind the counter. I went to Sam's Club in hopes of returning an item, paying on a credit card and picking up some necessities. As per their policy, returns had to be completed at their membership desk. When I got to the desk one associate was assisting customers while another one was standing around with her till although there were multiple registers available. She just stood there, looked at us for about 5 minutes then someone else showed up. They begin to talk about who wanted to go to which register for a while then one finally said can I help you. I told her I needed to do a return and then pay on my credit. She said she couldn't help with the return but she could do the credit payment. She did that and then I waited another 5 mins when low and behold another associate walked up ( making 4) and they started socializing in a circle. At that point I said "could someone finally help me ?"and the original associate who was helping people at first took me ( the other three just stood around talking). Ok, so to do a return, where I'm the only customer waiting and at least 2-4 open associates available I had to wait 15 minutes just because they didn't want to help. ( please note that I'm not being harsh- I understand how things work at Sams because I worked for that organization for 4 years in various positions). Beyond this surprisingly bad customer service experience when I first came in, I would have to say the club is neat,and clean, well organized, with selves fully stocked. I am a Sam's club business member and also a postal employee I went into the Sam's canton store to try and buy Lysol and they told me I couldn't shop and the store was closed this was about 4 pm 4/8/20..they then told me I had to place my order online..prior to me driving all the way to canton I tried to place the order online. It said in store only and not available online..so I took a extended lunch to drive all the way to canton still had my postal uniform on thinking that they may show me some favor since I am at work in uniform and let me buy 1 pack of Lysol..since I did get in the store like really I work with thousands of people daily..I'm in a category of essential workers..Nowhere online said the store was closed for business and online only..if I would have known I would have been treated so bad and told to order online although I was unable to order online and I asked for help and was refused..I wouldn't have wasted my time driving there it makes me never want to return read more

I just walk out of Sam Clubs and my food stamp card would not swipe for nothing. The Cashier said there nothing I can do you cant type it in at the card swipe thing and I cannot type it in here. I had to go to customer service desk. Ok not a problem. Got up there and the lady Rita said we can't do it. They turn me away and I had to walk out with nothing. I ask the lady Rita to write down the corpet number and she said it's 1800-Walmart. I said no write it down for me with your name as well. She did with a attitude and then told me that we need you to get a new card. So if your shopping with food stamp card and it doesn't swipe I wouldn't recommend shopping here they will turn you away with nothing. I been a member here for 7 years and I am done. I don't remember the last time I had such an awful retail experience. From waiting over 20 minutes in line to get a membership (I would have left, but it was the last day AmEx was offering a $45 credit on any purchase of $45 or more) to the dazed shoppers, overwhelmed by god-knows-what. Efficiency is not happening here. The Sam's Club / Costco concept isn't new or confusing to me, so I grabbed a few things, and headed to the registers. I'm not sure who was douchier -- the unbearably slow cashiers who seemed to need a manager to help them find their registers, or the shockingly rude customers. In front of me, a lady holding a single item was apparently saving a place for her husband, who rolled up with a cart overflowing with stuff. You'd think that they'd notice that A) That's a real prick job, and/or B) The guy behind them was only holding 3 items and could have gone ahead. Not so. Meanwhile, the line was packing, and some dude with zero consideration with everyone glides in to a closed register. You could hear people grumbling. Surely, the cashier is going to say "I'm closed" or point out the massive lines in every direction. Nope. At that point, I was out.
