I really wanted to like this seafood restaurant but left disappointed. This restaurant is in a fantastic location on the Boardwalk in Towne Lake, Cypress area. A very inviting restaurant. Large bar area inside and out. A plethora of TV's to watch from, and some booths even have their own TV. There is a very large seating area with an outdoor bar with lots of TVs too. Great view of the lake. The food was ok. The chips with the sampler were large although didn't have a good crisp too them. The calamari was slightly tough and the breading was a little heavy (too thick). The spicy sauce with the seafood (shrimp boil) wasn't spicy at all. The kids cheeseburger was a small slider. The steak was well cooked (medium rare request and it came out accordingly). We found the seafood flavors ok, not great. The service was not attentive enough. Needed to ask for utensils, appetizers came out same time as food. We were a large party of 9 however the food came out as it was ready so that would make more sense if it all came out. Lots of parking available although it does get busy so anticipate a walk. We came in for dinner on a recent trip. Hubby had crawfish and seafood boil, which he thought was good. I don't eat seafood, so I had a steak. The seafood came out probably a good 20 minutes before my steak. We had a couple of people check on it and I was told that the seafood tends to come out first, because it cooks pretty quick, which I understand. But it would have been nice to eat with my family. LOL! I did try the sausage and some of the corn, both were good, or it could be because I was hungry. The steak was good, a little on the dry side, but still flavorful. Dear Sam's Boat Management, I am writing to share my recent disappointing experience at your Pearland location. Upon arrival, my husband and I were seated at a table that was still dirty. Despite this, we decided to stay and expected someone would attend to us shortly. Unfortunately, after waiting for 20 minutes, no server ever came to our table. We attempted to get the attention of several servers, but most walked past us without acknowledgment. Hoping for a better experience, we moved outside, only to find the same lack of service repeated there. At that point, we felt ignored and extremely frustrated. Me and my family wanted something to eat after leaving a volleyball tournament so we decided to stop by here and grab something to eat and we didn't even know that there was another location other than the Richmond, so why not. So the server was good. She was really nice and really suggestive. What I can say is the place was really decorated. The music was nice. I've been here several times and the service has been hit or miss. I've come and had great service and then I've had bad service. My last visit was to see the NBA finals with three other friends service was not well at all. We ordered a couple pitchers of beer and some shots and we had to wait a long time for our food, they for even brought us the wrong wings! Nevertheless you were not charged for those and we ate them LOL. I like the idea that they have outside seating with TVs with the lake as a backdrop, very breathtaking. I really like their boiled shrimp/crab leg special. It comes with mushrooms, sausage, corn and potatoes. They have good drink specials, pitchers are $16 and margaritas were $5 on a Saturday night. I've tried their fried shrimp as well and the hush puppies are yummy! Why is it that Sam's Boat in Towne Lake can't seem to get it all together at the same time? I live nearby so I always try and give them the benefit of the doubt. I was excited this time because the service was outstanding, the meal came out promptly, and everything but the green beans tasted perfect. I asked the server if she could have them put seasoning on them and cook them longer. They literally tasted like they came straight from the vine. The second batch tasted the same. I brought it to the servers attention and said "don't worry I am taking them back again". I said "Just have the manager give you the difference, since I already paid for my meal which included the green beans." The manager tried to pull one over on me and said I was never charged for the green beans. I reminded her they were part of the sides included in the meal. She then backtracked and said she couldn't take them off. So I asked her to take off something else that was on my ticket that wasn't included in my meal, and give it to my server because she was outstanding. I hope Ashley my server received my generous tip and the price I paid for the added side. Shame on you manager for lying to me and saying I never was charged when you knew I was. read more

Always a great spot to enjoy a sports game with their multiple screens. Food is mediocre, and it seems they try to turn tables pretty quickly, I get it, but it feels like you can't fully relax because of this if you sit at a table or booth. I have an update from my prior review of Sam's Boat in Town Lake. Mind you, I have not been there since last visit/review, about a year ago. I went in with very low expectations, and even told my boyfriend not to expect anything but a bad experience. I was pleasantly surprised and so impressed on how attentive our server, Adrian was. I honestly was very happy, he was amazing!!! Constantly checking on us, taking the order efficiently, asking the right questions and being engaged with my group (It was 7 of us). One of the bartenders/or another server went by me and spilled a bit from a drink she was dropping off for another server, and she walked away. As a bear mom that I am, I spotted someone from the restaurant and told him about it the little spill. It turns out to be one of the managers (I believe his name is Corey ... apologies if I misspelled it), but he was wonderful. He cleaned up right away, and we chatted a little. Even though the floor is a concrete floor, he thanked me for bringing this up to him. Of course I had to mention to him about the great job Adrian was doing and how happy it makes me to see this. I told him that I had written a very poor review about a year ago, and how wonderful to see the positive changes. Very happy to see corporate's intervention and address the issues with this location. I'm totally kicking myself for not stopping in at Sam's before now. I've passed this restaurant so many times and always said "I'm gonna go eat there next time". Well that time was today and it did not disappoint. We were told to seat ourselves and a server would be right by. We sat and had to flag a person for assistance but they were very apologetic and after that we had 3 servers rush over yo greet us and get us menus. From there it was all uphill. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious. Our entrees were the bacon barbecue burger, shrimp brochettes with a wedge salad and the blackened fish tacos with borracho beans. The shrimp was served over the most delicious crispy onions that were reminiscent of the onion loaf from Tony Romas. The tacos were good but the tortillas fell apart instantly. The tortillas should've been warmed over a stove vs in a microwave but the fish was good regardless. For dessert we had the Tres Leches cheesecake and bourbon bread pudding. I will have dreams about the bread pudding! We will definitely be back and ask for Billie's section. She was an amazing server so I would recommend you ask for her too. read more

Myself and some coworker friends came to Sam's boat on the last day of school. We got there right in time around 4:50-5 and we got seated right away. Reggie was our server and he was so friendly & attentive. (Not to mention patient because we were too busy taking to look at the menu right away). It was graduation weekend and this started picking up shortly after but Reggie was always checking on us. He was awesome! We started with a cup of queso and the crab bites - recommend both. You can add meat to the queso but we opted not to. My friend and I shared a pound of crawfish to see how it was. They were a good size and had a good a flavor. We opted to sit outside which is self seating. Our server came out in a couple minutes and brought menus. My mango and regular margaritas were weak and tasted watered down. The crawfish needed to be seasoned and soaked better. I asked for extra spice and I got it but it had zero flavor. I finally stopped eating here right before the COVID pandemic because the snapper pontchartrain was so bad. Finally decided to eat in the bar and see how it goes. Ordered the boat sampler- first- if you like dipping your fried seafood in a good tarter sauce- then stay away- the tarter sauce is so amazingly bad- it ruined the seafood. This place SUCKS! By FAR the WORST Sam's Boat I've ever been to! Would live at the one off of Richmond 10 years ago, then was somewhat of a regular at the Sam's in Clear Lake for over 5 years. I was sooo looking forward to this location in the C-Y-P. Worst decision ever. Started off by walking into a sign that read "Please see hostess to be seated" Wouldn't it be nice if there was a hostess standing where they had the sign? Ha Instead it was Seat Yourself. We dined outside and it was a pretty view, but it's so dirty. It took us 10 minutes to get service and it was NOT busy. We ended up getting stuck with a server who obviously doesn't understand the root word in his job- serve. He DIDNT want to be there, and he definitely didn't want to serve anyone that evening. I ordered 1 lb of crawfish to start off with because I wanted to see the size and if it's still the same taste like the others. They have lemon and garlic flavors as well as the original flavor. One lb comes with one corn (small) and one potato. I always get a side of butter and extra seasoning which is maybe an additional dollar or so. I still find it funny that you're spending 10.95 a lb on crawfish and they really can't throw in some seasoning and butter? Lol. K. Trying to get a second round for us, I yelled, "Excuse me, Sir" as he was trying his hardest to NOT work and serve. He was almost to the door when I called him back because he didn't even come and check on us. He rolled his eyes as if, damn! I almost got away with it- not working! Lol! He came back and when the lb of crawfish came, he didn't even bring me a bucket for the shells. I was putting them on a napkin on the table. Wow. A sweet bartender came out and brought me the bucket for them. The crawfish tasted good, for sure, but they're semi small. On a scale of 1-10 I'd rate them a 5/6 on size. Always full of flavor though! While we were finished eating and ordered another lb of crawfish, I had to remove the plates from our table and put them on a clean table next to me because he was so lazy he couldn't even "bus" the table. We had finally had enough and went to one of my favorite bars down the street. I don't know if there is truly ANYONE else y'all can hire to work at this location, but I would seriously reconsider closing the doors, firing everyone, and hiring people who still care about their jobs, have personalities, and care about the companies character and reputation. I definitely will NEVER be going back to this location. Oh, and we had to ask for our check TWICE. He wasn't busy, just that lazy. read more

He was a seafood aficionado (that's where I got it from), and that paired with the happy hour (11am-8pm), the entire fam could agree to find something on the menu. First time visiting Sam's Boat at Towne Lake. We first ordered one pound of crawfish with the original spicy seasoning. The crawfish were slightly tough, the heads were hard, and the tails were tough to peel. The seasoning was fine. Ordered the boat sampler as our meal to split. Came with calamari, popcorn shrimp, crab balls, and queso with crab meat. I would rate the sampler a 5/10. The crab balls didn't have much of a crab taste. They were more of a peppery breading ball. The queso came out kind of cold. The consistency I'd say was gloopy. Asked for hotter queso with the toppings on the side and the second round was better. The calamari and popcorn shrimp were good.
