When I was a kid and my mom would get out of work early she would sometimes come home with two big bags full of fresh meat pies. It was the best surprise and I would devour them. They are addictive and sooo tasty. They havent changed and I'm glad. Their open pies are good too but the meat pies bring me back to my childhood! read more

Mmmmmmm. Meat pies. Hot damn I love this place! For $3 you can go to heaven for 10 minutes.

Used to come here all the time for the meat pies. Absolutely delish, very friendly staff.

Must try cheese and meat pies (opened and closed)! You can grab them fresh out of the oven, if not they will warm them up for you to devour right on site. Hole in the wall in the middle of a residential area, without word of mouth or reviews like this, I would've never known about this gold mine. Staff is beyond nice & friendly! read more

I've been going since I was a kid.. and it has never changed. This place is the BEST. The absolute BEST pita you will ever have. A true gem of Fall RIver. read more

Love their Syrian spinach pies and their goat meat pies !!

Going to Sam's is a unique experience. From the crude mechanized oven to the wooden trays, walking through the door is like being transported to another place and time. They should charge admission just to watch the goings on, it is that entertaining. All of the other reviews are absolutely true. Any foodies visit to Fall River is grossly incomplete without a visit here. LONG LIVE SAM'S!!! read more

I have known the family who runs Sam's for over 50 years, since I lived in the area growing up. It was my "job" to get the bread in the morning before elementary school started, since it would be closed after school. Sam's bread was always a staple in my house growing up, Now that I have been away for over 40 years and don't get back to Fall River often, Sam's is one of my 1st stops when I'm there. There is nothing else that compares- anywhere. 5 stars isn't enough. Give it ten! The thin bread is excellent- don't even compare it to the pita you get in the stores- it's in a class of it's own. It is no longer baked by a wood fire, but it is same oven - the quality has not change a bit. The meat pies and spinach pies are like a little piece of heaven in your mouth- savory, but not overpowering. One of each gets eaten in the parking lot before I even start the car to head back to where we stay when visiting the area. Every one talks about the bread, the spinach and the meat pies, but don't forget the maneesh. It's the same dough as the bread, but with spices and sesame seeds pressed into it before baking. It has a hint of lemon in it. If you're anywhere near Fall River, make your way to Sam's. It will not disappoint! read more

I live in New Bedford, Ma. (the next city over). My mother got these all my life dozen after dozen. I buy them like crazy .... they r just S0 g00d. I even tried the linguica(mild Portuguese sausage) pie FANTASIC. Lastime i was there i made an order of roughly 100 and shared them with the people i work with. I am off to go there to cheat on my diet RIGHT NOW. Bom/Bon Apetite read more

Everything you've heard is true. My friend put me on; he's from providence and i'm about equal ways away in the opposite direction, I wasn't mad... I was just disappointed in myself I hadn't heard of sams until then. If it's your first time going I hope that you can get a meat pie while its fresh, but you will come back either way I can promise you that. Try your best to get here early as possible, nothing else like it in the river. Simplicity is key at this spot. read more

I have never actually been to Sam's but a patient of our office brings their meat and spinach pies when he has an appointment. They are absolutely amazing!!! I have never had Lebanese pies before but I CRAVE them now. read more

Everything everyone else raved about remains true: perfect meat pies, meat & yogurt pies, ESPECIALLY the spinach pies- the open-faced maneesh, the best Syrian bread. Others forgot to not that you can also buy tabbouleh, yogurt, bulgur of all grain sizes, oil, grape leave freshly stuffed or canned & ready for your recipes, kibbee (Lebanese meatloaf with onions & pinenuts) balls or whole pans, as well as cookbooks, herbs, za'atar (oregano, sesame, & powdered sumac), Lebanese "allspice" mix - and soda & milk. Lunch, breakfast, & if intelligently saved, yr dinner... Remember to pan-toast a refridged spinach or meat pie to crispness again. It just tastes better that way. 52 years in business this year, Sam's Bakery makes the best Lebanese food this Boston Irish girl has ever had! read more

One of Fall River's hidden gems. Best Lebanese pies you can get! This place is fast paced though! Go in there, and know what you want ahead of time! Don't expect them to wait for you, by the time you walk up to the counter there will be a line formed behind you! I have to say though, perhaps a smile on some of the employee's faces would be nice to see once and a while instead of the crazy hustle and bustle. read more

Omfg! This place rocks! I can remember walking here when I was a little kid just to get those yummy meat pies. Everything on there menu I gotta say is awesome. if you haven't tried Sam's yet all I gotta say is,What are you waiting for? read more

In life we have our little delights... the small things that you savor. As a kid I was always thrilled when someone brought home a bag of thier meat pies and a bag of thier spinach pies... As an adult I still get that same excitement. It's also worth noting that I've eaten some very good pies from all over the country, yet they all pale compared to these guys. Maybe we can petition them to start a delivery service? Sam's is absolutely the best meat pies ever. just around the corner on the next street is another place that makes them (won't even bother with the name) and they are HORRIBLE tasting. I don't know what kind of addictive additive sam's uses but i've never tasted anything so good! I miss my sunday morning errands always involving the stop at sam's. I think i'm going to have to make the 4 hour rnd trip drive soon so I can get a fix! DEFINITELY buy a couple dozen and put them in your freezer. Pop them in the oven or toaster oven to heat up and they test just as good as the day they were made.. read more

So I went to Sam's bakery today. I hadn't been since I was a kid, I forgot how much I loved those pies!! One of Fall River's best kept secrets!

Heavenly hole in the wall Lebanese bakery. Very limited hours so get there early or you will surely miss all the good stuff. I have been coming here my whole life practically. They make a living from the meat pies and the bread, but personally, I think their maneesh is their signature food. Get there earrrrrly.

One of Fall River's hidden gems. As always, Sam's does not disappoint. Make certain you buy enough to eat some in the car ant take some home. I make a special trip and get enough to freeze and take back to Florida with me. read more

What a find! Great Syrian and Middle Eastern baked goods. Can get crowded, though.

I am originally from Fall River and never miss a chance to go back to Sam's whenever I am in the area. Bless this place for it's great food, friendly service and reasonable prices. It has only changed by adding products over the years. If you want to go to a place that always brings you memories of how it used to be and and still brings it to you in the same way, go to Sam's. Who cares how long of a line there is, it's always worth it. read more

Often times in life there are not enough words to describe just exactly how you feel about a specific establishment, this is one of those times. I have been visiting Sam's bakery since 1982 at 1 years old in my mother and father's arms. It became a family tradition long before that and long before I came along as my father grew up right behind this building and grew up frequenting. This was back in the days when Sam was still with us and luckily has left his legacy to Dora. Very few times in your life are you able to experience the same exact feeling, flavor and emotion when biting into compulsory creations. After all these years everything is prepared pretty much the same way it did, everything tastes just as it did in the memories that flood my mind and in my heart when consuming delectables from this wonderful place. There are too many to count. This is one of those places that I don't know what I would do if they were ever to not exist. The truth is whenever I need some comfort, a walk down memory lane or in itch that needs to be scratched in the depths of my stomach, Sam's bakery is always there. read more

I love Sam's. I've been going there since meatpies were .15, It's the best breakfast for a weekend morning or just about any morning. My only complaint is that I was overchared on my last visit. It was only 2.50 but that's a couple of meatpies, menich, or 1/4 tray of kibbee. Yeah, I know mistakes happen and if I had bothered to total prior to paying I wouldn't be complaining but since most of their items are priced the same, there is really no excuse on their part. The food is great and the prices very reasonable, but if you have a bald guy with glasses ring you up be careful. read more

The best Sfeehas I've had so far! There Sfeehas / pie dough is particularly good and flavorful, very similar to sough dough. And it looks very appetizing! Their sesame bread is also very tasty! read more

Possibly the world's best Lebanese meat pies. Surprisingly not greasy and not overly doughy. Every bite leaves you waiting for the next.

Living on the left coast now and a visit to Sam's is a must every time I return to New England. I get a couple dozen spinach pies, freeze them and pack them in the suitcase for the trip home. As long as my bags don't get lost, they make it into my freezer and tide us over until the next visit. Thank you, Sam's, for always being there and for working hard to keep your delicious tradition going strong! read more
