Great food, and I'm really happy to see Indian pizza options! I had a paneer tikka pizza, which was awesome. Lots of veggies, a flavorful sauce with a distinct ginger note, and spicy (I customized it this way). The crust is reminiscent of naan, I think it might even be the same kind of dough. This place is a hole in the wall but can be spotted by their outdoor dining setup. The place inside is small and can seat around ten people maximum. I tried to dine in, but apparently, they have a rule that states that you can't eat inside unless you order $15 worth of food. On a normal day, I can, but I just wanted samossas as that's what they're known for at the restaurant. I went with 2 other people, and we all chose samossas, which is what the restaurant is named, and they just wanted to take out. The person at the register didn't really help us out. He was busy taking orders over the phone and giving them to the delivery people. He wasn't coherent either when we asked questions. Anyway, I ordered the mixed order where it comes with 5 different kinds. I got the 5 on the menu, which are spinach, diced potatoes, chick peas, ground lamb, and ground chicken. I ordered takeout for lunch. It's a little confusing between the tiffin box and lunch specials, but essentially we get a bento-like box with the tiffin box with smaller portions of the entree/salad/rice/bread side. I liked the naan more than the roti (you can choose), but both were good to dip with the sauces. - Shrimp chili tiffin: This said spicy, but it was not at all. Once it was chilled, you can get more of the spiciness, but it certainly had a lot of flavor. There were about 4-5 big shrimp in the box and they weren't overcooked, which I appreciated. The sauce was good enough, but not my favorite - Paneer Tikka masala tiffin: The masala is slightly heavier with the tomato flavor in my opinion. I thought the paneer could be slightly less thickly cut to soak up the flavor a bit more, but overall, a nice standard dish. - Lamb korma lunch special: I love korma, and while I had better korma elsewhere, I think they do korma better than the other Indian places in Astoria (i.e. Seva). It's slightly more nuttier here, but not as nutty as I would like (love the korma at Sahib in Manhattan). The lamb itself is also tender. I'd get this again. The prices were very affordable, especially for the lunch specials - I'd come back to try other dishes. read more

The man who works the front desk here is a scam artist. I ordered food here for take out, I believe I left my phone at the desk. I came back to grab it and my phone was gone. I noticed they have security cameras, when I asked to see the footage, he claimed they don't have access to them, and that the manager is the only one with access to them. When I asked to speak to the manager he told me he was not there and he doesn't work on weekdays. When I called back, he told me he wasn't there. If you're looking for a fantastic underrated Indian restaurant which also has outdoor dinning, look no further. First off, the staff was very friendly. My wife and I shared the mix samosas. The samosas we chose were (2) potatoes, (1) lamb, (1) chickpea, and (1) chicken. My wife then ordered a mint limeade and the lamb korma (lunch special, which means it comes with basmati rice and a small salad) and I got the goat vindaloo lunch special. We devoured the samosas and when we started eating our lunch special meal, we were basically full and unable to finish our entrees. We took the rest of our meal to go. Me and my bf went during lunch and ordered two lunch specials - one mattar paneer and lamb curry, which both came with roti, naan, salad (it's really just lettuce with dressing on the side but I still liked it), and rice. This is one of my favorite Indian places in Astoria. The samosa chaat is unreal good! So many good flavors and plenty of sauces. I also enjoy the vindaloo, butter chicken, and fried cauliflower. I ordered delivery the other night but I was a bit disappointed with my meal. I chose a variety of five samosas but the restaurant didn't send my selections exactly as ordered. Quarantine Chronicles: I started back to work this week and wasted no time hitting up Samossa Bites. I've ordered from here plenty of times and have yet to be disappointed. My usual lunch order is some form of Samosa (all of them are great, make sure you get both sauces) and a random item ie naan, onion kulcha, lentil soup, etc. Today I got the lunch special and will be trying every item on the menu from now until further notice...or at least until my jeans stop fitting. Ordered takeout (at 10:53 and was set as soon as I got there, 11:35) and feasted on the chicken korma which was tender, great flavor-wise and still piping hot. The lunch special comes with naan, salad and a serving of rice. IMO it's an abundance of food for the price so it's worth it. Washed it down with a mango lassi and I'm ready to tackle the rest of the day. read more

We bought (to go): (4) delicious lamb and (4) potato samossas, a superb (and HUGE) Chicken Tikka-Kathi Roll, and a scrumptious Lamb Korma-curry dish. All combined with generous and tasty Cucumber Raita and Mango Chutney appetizers, and topped off with a just-sweet-enough mango lassi. We bought supermarket nan bread elsewhere, but SHOULD have added Nan at the restaurant to our order. The entire order came to around $60, and there was PLENTY of food for the cost. Parking is VERY scarce in this crowded neighborhood, even on a Sunday (when we went), but we managed to find a spot nearby. I would give this 6 starts if I could: we've had much Indian food over the years, and this compares well to (if not exceeds) the best we've ever had. Just delicious! Friendly service person at register, too, and only had to wait about 15 minutes for the order to go to be ready. Next time we'll sit at one of their tables indoors or outside (if we get parking nearby). Well worth the visit; we'll be coming back soon and trying some different dishes, as well. Was driving by looking for a place to eat and just happened to come across this place the front is rather small and you can easily drive by without noticing it but I'm glad I did The first thing you notice when you walk in is the place is immaculately clean very well organized for a little place and the menu is in full display and what I love most that the man who greeted me in the front (nayar) made a few suggestions and I ended up getting the chicken katti roll..and a coke. I must say this it was the best one I have ever ate in the longest while it was fresh....perfectly spiced and flavored and everything was just right about it and the portions very generous and filling. I love the samosas here! My office orders from here all the time - we get all the different kinds of samosas, chicken Tikka masala, paneer tikka masala and saag paneer. My favorite is the original samosa with the Tamarind sauce. I cannot get enough of it! The dough is super crispy and the flavors inside the samosa is so good. This was my first time trying Indian food and I really enjoyed it. We stopped by here last night for pickup & the guy that took our order was very helpful and nice. We got the lamb and chicken samosas. Lamb was def a fave. It was perfectly seasoned and the green and red sauce that came for it on the side were delish. We also ordered the butter chicken with rice. Soooo mouth watering and flavorful. Yummmy. I'm literally craving it as I write this review. And lastly we tried the garlic naan. Which was so tasty. I was always a fan of samossa bites at its old location and haven't had their food for quite some time. I guess they decided to open a second one! After bumping into their new store today by accident, I had to stop in. I stupidly took the wrong bus from 21st queens bridge this evening and didn't realize it until I was way off course. I got off the bus (and was a little moody) and made my way towards the N,Q so I could get back to 30th Ave. And there it was! New and still under construction but open...Samossa Bites! It quickly cheered me up. The Guy working there said it opened last week. I ordered some vegetable samosas, aloo paratha and a chicken tikka Kati roll (I had to try lots of things...I was excited and hungry). All of it was delicious! I only had their samosas at their previous location, which are always amazing - it's a given when the dish you order is the name of the restaurant. The aloo paratha was really good too! It still does not taste as great as homemade...but much better than other restaurants I've tried! And the kati roll was really big! And it had a good spicy kick to it. I paid about $15 for all the food I ordered and it will definitely last for a couple days. It took some time to prepare, which the man working there warned me in advance that it would.
