This place WAS great .. but they have quickly declined in quality . I was weary after the last time I ordered, but figured maybe they had a different chef that day or something, but this new below quality level of food seems to have become the norm at this establishment. Let just focus on today's order The poori I ordered today was floppy (not cripsy) , covered in oil and just outright inedible. The oil running down your lip if you try to bite it, like the oil was not hot enough when they cooked it and they never let it drain, I am not an expert chef but even I can tell that this was just carelessness in the kitchen. The Chicken TIkka Masala had dry old tasting chicken in it. it tasted bad and the rubbery texture was even worse. The Somosa's come in a bag that was literally falling apart from the oil... again, I really thing the oil was not hot enough when they cooked it and they did not drain it. I would say that this was an isolated incident, but it happened the last time we ordered somosa's too . Then there was the thing that just pissed me off. I ordered a diet Snapple. I am guessing they were out, so instead of calling and offering me something different, they put a normal Snapple in the bad, which I would actually be fine with , but to try and conceal what they were doing they wrapped the Snapple bottle in tin foil so I would not notice until the delivery guy had already left. That is some straight up sneaky ass underhanded stuff right there..,, There are plenty of really good Indian places in Astoria and LIC , check those out and don't waste your money here until they start caring about their product and customers. e read more

I went there a few days ago, it was nice little Indian restaurant. Just unique, and the menu was accommodating. This place doesn't have a lot of sitting arrangement. It is mostly a take out place, with 4-5 tables only. I was able to place an online order for take out, then upon arrival, i chose to sit and eat there, and they were easy on accommodating all that without charging anything extra. A new Bangladeshi restaurant, DHAKAYA, opened in July in Queens near the corner of 21st and 40th Avenue. It's a charming, family-owned place where the owners genuinely care about the quality of their ingredients. Luckily, I work nearby, so I get to eat here on a regular basis. The food is fresh, aromatic, and downright tantalizing. They offer daily specials as well as an a-la-carte menu. I highly recommend trying the daily specials that are made fresh and hot each day and presented in their inviting display case. Their culinary talent truly shines in the bold, spicy blends they create. Here are a few examples of what I've tried there: Singara: These are similar to the better-known Indian Samosas, but here they are stuffed with a delectable mix of potatoes, cauliflower, vegetables, and exotic Bangladeshi spices. They are served piping hot, with a golden-crispy crust, and the savory ingredients burst with mouthwatering flavor. That's fine and expected in queens, but if you don't understand something, tell me you don't understand so I don't end up waiting 20 mins for a plate of rice. Anyway, I still am giving this place 4 stars because we will always go back for the good food and cheap prices. We always get the tofu chili, veg thukpa, and sometimes the veg momos. I tried the jhol momos before and those were pretty good, but man I tried the steamed momos recently and they are bomb, so much flavor on the inside. Plus I finally got to try their house sauces that they always put on our table, and finally understood why those were their signature sauces (yum). I order butter tea almost every time I'm there and it always tastes great, has a bit of foam on top which I like. Never watery like some other places. (They took away my butter tea early without me noticing though one time and I was sad ) They do include a service charge in their bill each time so watch out for that when you tip. I would actually give this place 3.7 if I could but yeah you get the point.

I was really…read morehungry and figured we could introduce Tia to a style of food from another Latin American country. As soon as I opened Yelp, I saw that there was a Himalayan restaurant nearby. I've never tried that before, and I knew it was a great chance to freak out Tia. I'm so glad we came. I ordered Samosas, Beef Momo (steamed), and the wife got a Shrimp Pad Thai, which she liked. I really liked the Momo... it was so damned juicy I ate it like a soup dumpling, but with my hands. The only problems I have with this place... there was only one server for a busy night (though who would think it would be busy on a Monday???) and the Samosas were freaking SPICY. My Mexican Aunt even thought so. It was good, but they should put a chili next to it on the menu. Anyway, I will likely be back!

I'm almost a regular here just having a meal 2-3 days per week. Crazy thing is I was getting a bit underweight recently and once I started going here now I'm overweight.
