Aunt Jake's was a great experience to learn how to make pasta and fun event to do with some friends or date night. You get to bring the pasta home and enjoy a delicious meal.

Went with a group of four for the pasta-making class. We arrived about 10 minutes early and were asked to wait outside which was rough since it was freezing. A few others arrived early and gathered around, we all bonded over our shared discomfort of standing in the cold. We were let in right at our scheduled class time. Once inside, it was clear how small and intimate the space is. There's really only room for the class itself. It genuinely felt like being in an Italian kitchen. The class is held around one long table, probably accommodating about 14-20 people. You're given an apron and a drink, and then the class begins. You spend about an hour making several different types of pasta, which are boxed up for you to cook at home later. Afterward, you move to a small dining area where they serve the meal you selected upon arrival. Everything was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned across the board. I still dream about that lasagna. The Caesar salad was dressed just right, and the donuts were served hot: crisp on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Overall, this was such an awesome fun and memorable experience.

We had so much fun making handmade pasta here! $60 includes appetizer, main course and dessert, which is valuable. Recommend Shrimp Scampi and risotto for main dish! Mussels and calamari for appetizers

This experience is a must in NYC. The pasta class was lively and informative. The food is absolutely fantastic - the pasta is the perfect texture and the flavors are fresh. I highly recommend the hot honey burrata as an appetizer. The instructor and servers were very friendly and the restaurant itself is cozy and fun space. Would definitely go back again !

Aunt Jake's was such a fun pasta making experience to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday! We were a group of 8 among others in the class. Our instructor did a great job of walking us through the dough making process, coming to check on everyone throughout. We learned to make dough and were given separate rolled out sheets to practice making different pasta shapes. We opted for the bottomless wine/sangria option to drink throughout the experience. After making pasta, we sat down for a 3 course lunch, which was delicious. Such a fun way for us to kick off the day! I'd recommend this to anyone in the city or even those visiting like we did. We couldn't travel with the pasta, so luckily we were able to cook and test it at our Airbnb.

Had a great experience at Aunt Jake's pasta making class in New York. Our instructor was hilarious and kept everyone engaged throughout, while actually teaching us techniques that I'll use at home. The best part was getting to take our handmade pasta with us at the end. The class also included a drink, appetizer, main course, and dessert from their regular menu, which was a nice touch. It's a fun activity whether you're a local looking for something different to do or visiting the city. Would definitely recommend for a unique dining experience that's equal parts entertaining and delicious

This has made it to one of my top favorite things to do in New York City! It's been on my list for a couple years, but I finally made a reservation recently to do a pasta making class on a rainy Sunday afternoon. It started at 12:30, and once we all got in to the restaurant, we were at this super long and wide table with about maybe other 15 people in the class. There are hooks for your belongings, and aprons for everyone to wear. Carmine was our instructor and he was incredible. The pasta making itself took maybe an hour and a half, and we learned how to make four pasta shapes, including farfalle, garganelle, pappardelle and tagliatelle. We also took home a ball of pasta dough we made which could be used for making more pasta shapes. After we were done, we sat down at our dining table and enjoyed a three course meal. This was such an incredible value for $60, not to mention the portions of all of the food were huge. I ordered mussels for my appetizers, as well as a butternut squash risotto for my main, and then an ice cream sundae for dessert. We also got complementary focaccia bread for the table, and I ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir for the table. We were done eating close to 3:45pm. I would highly recommend coming here for a date idea, or with friends!

This was a 10 out of 10 experience. Came here for the pasta making class with some friends. It was so much fun. The teacher (Carmine) was phenomenal. He taught us and kept us entertained the whole class. Dinner was served with some focaccia bread appetizers. We ordered a variety of different pasta dishes. Included with the cost of the class you get a three course meal with a choice of appetizer, entree, and dessert. We also ordered drinks, which are additional. The drinks were so delicious. You could tell quality ingredients and real fruit is used. If you're thinking about attending, don't hesitate and just do it. You will have a great time!

Visited the restaurant for a friend's birthday event. We were a group of 12. We were seated on time and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We sat down and ordered our drinks. Thereafter we moved to the main table (standing) where an instructor (ex- marine with a great ability to project his voice and tell jokes) guided us through the pasta-making class. I thought we would eat the pasta we made, but we did not. Instead, you take that home and receive instructions on how to make it. Unfortunately, I forgot about the pasta in my fridge and I had to toss it out as a result. I know, a shame. Moving on . . . The food was made in house and was served family style and it was plentiful. The birthday girl even took some leftovers home. As my drink I ordered a rose sangria and it was very good! This is a cute restaurant and the activity made it even better. Food is great and so is service. Overall, 5/5! Stop in!

I took a pasta making class here and thought it was a cool experience. For $60 (before tip and tax), you get to make your own dough and four different types of pasta to bring home. While it was educational and very hands-on, I definitely enjoyed eating the pasta they served us the most. As part of their package, we were able to select food for our three-course meal. I chose Mussels to start, Squid Ink Bucatini Vongole as my main, and finished with their delicious Mason Jar Sundae. Everything was great and the portion size was huge. I'm glad I was able to experience this!

I had a pretty good experience here! A pasta making class - particularly a class here has been on my list of NYC activities to do for awhile now. Aunt Jake's is pretty affordable compared to other pasta making classes, considering it's $60 for the class and a 3 course meal. I was able to find availability for 2 people at 8 pm. When I came around 7:50 pm, there were 2 fire trucks outside. Firemen were coming in and out of Aunt Jake's and neighboring businesses. It was also raining and there was a flood flash warning this day. A lot was going on. They finally let us in around 8:07 pm. We were handed a menu and aprons. The class itself went by fast and lasted 1.5 hour. I thought the class took place in a separate room but no, it was in the middle of the restaurant and there were tables of people enjoying their 3 course meal from the last session. We all gathered around this table and followed Anthony's instructions. Some of his direction was not that clear if I'm being honest. At one point he came over to me to correct my technique/form because I wasn't doing something right. He was kinda of sassy but it was fine. The people across from my friend and I were friendly. The girl next to me was not friendly whatsoever. Barely acknowledged me, kinda rude.... We ordered: - spicy margarita - strawberry Aperol spritz: I honestly couldn't taste any alcohol and I don't know if any was even in it. It was refreshing though but got watered down fast. - meatballs: really good! I liked the sauce - hot honey burrata: also really good. But I think they could have given bigger pieces of bread because the ratio of bread to burrata didn't match. - chicken parmigiana: I'm not the biggest chicken parm fan (anywhere), but I did enjoy this. I liked that the breading wasn't too thick. - three cheese meat lasagna: I liked that this wasn't too thick because most lasagnas are thick. Shoutout to Alexandra who took our drink orders and served us all night.

Wow. I saw this class all over social media and it did not disappoint. The food here was phenomenal and arguably my favorite Caesar salad of 2025. Spicy vodka sauce and Garlic Pecorino sauce were delicious and definitely worth all the hype. Let's talk details though: Is it worth it? Class is 130 dollars for two people. Dinner is roughly 90-100 just by the face value of food and drinks. 30 dollars for a class that lets you take home your pasta, at least two servings worth and they feed you? Absolute steal. Pros: interactive you can meet a lot of fun people! not just a couples activity but a family friendly as well as friend group activity as well. They accommodate large groups and small groups well. Cons: we should have wrapped our pasta balls because they went bad

Ask the Community - Aunt Jake's

    Is there wine available?

    Yes they offer wine

Do they have good gluten-free options?

I'm not sure about other menu items but I know there are definitely good gluten-free pasta selections - you choose your own pasta and sauce, so you could very easily select gluten-free options!

Do you accept reservations for outside? I was in an accident and can't stand long? Thank you…

They definitely take reservations (either via open table or just by calling them) and you can tell them your preference is to be seated outdoors, but I've been told in the past they can't guarantee it because outdoor seating is on a… Read more
