This location has been in the neighborhood for the ten years I've been here and it's consistently good. The pasta is homemade and the service is excellent. If there's an Achilles heel it's the same for most places today and that's value for the dollar. It's hard to go out as even a party of two now and not drop over $100 before tax, tip, and not including cocktails. It's true...we had the burrata salad (shared), each had a pasta, and shared a dessert...$100 on the nose. No drinks, apps, mains, etc. It's reality but it makes fantastic places like this an occasional luxury rather than a regular night out, at least for us. read more

The restaurant was totally inflexible about making even the slightest change to any menu item. What happened to pleasing the diner? To add insult to injury, the service, the food delivery, and getting the check were all VERY SLOW. You'd think since they do not allow any substitutions and the restaurant is very small, you would get your meal fairly promptly. This was not the case. And the meal was mediocre at best. I will never be a repeat diner to any Felice location. My advice, go somewhere else where they care about making the customer happy. Don't make the mistake we did. read more

We had Branzino which was carefully wrapped in paper, and packed with delicious moist fish and potatoes, olives, tomato, and more. Absolutely stunning presentation and flavors. We also had the Fettucini Bolognese, which was extraordinary. The Arancini were very small for $19, and not very "Italian" tasting, but they had their own style and flavor profile, with a ton of deep cheesy flavors and a light pesto lemon dipping sauce. I asked for a side of tomato sauce. I thought it would naturally come with it. Abundance of delicious homemade bread, was brought o our table. I also loved the ambiance of this restaurant. Goodness gracious, I thought I had updated my review from 8 years ago, but apparently I must have only updated the review in my head...LOL...So, if you are thinking about dining here, I'd say it's a definite YES!!! I love the homemade pasta, so I'll always ask if this particular pasta I might be thinking of ordering is homemade. I've had the tagliatelle with mushrooms, and right now, I can't recall the last pasta I had, but I can tell you anything I've had, in terms of pasta, has been quite delicious. The last time I was here at Felice, with a friend, I decided to have dessert after my pasta, so I specifically asked if the cheesecake was Italian Cheesecake, which is made with ricotta cheese, instead of cream cheese, like New York cheesecake, and the Italian cheesecake can have a texture that is a little grain-y, in the best way. The male server said yes, that it was Italian cheesecake. But, alas, upon arrival, my friend and I looked at each other, and I said, this looks like regular cheesecake, so I tasted it, and it was NOT Italian cheesecake. And since that was the only cheesecake I felt like eating, I sent the cheesecake back. I would expect a restaurant to know the difference between these two types of cheesecakes. Bottom line--there is good eating to be had here. Now, I've been told by my neighbors that the wines are very nice here, and that the owners have a winery in Italy. I truly don't know if you can have a bad meal in New York, and Felice 64 is no exception to that rule. The Burrata e Proscuitto is generous and so enjoyable. The Cozze weren't my favorite but we still ate every last mussel so clearly they were just fine. Just two entrees and a split portion of Pappardelle was enough for two people to leave full. This place was phenomenal. I was craving Carbonara hard and with my gluten allergy needed a place that would take care not to get me sick. From the moment we walked in the staff was joking around having a good time and made us feel like part of their big Italian family. Our server seemed a little bit uncomfortable, though it may have been something of a language barrier. The ambiance was alright, it was a rainy night and we were outside but at least we were lucky enough to be underneath the heating. To cap it all off I'm not quite sure if it was on purpose but the waiter wiped all of the crumbs directly onto my lap, and new pants (it was the end of the meal so my napkin was no longer present). I would normally give it 3 stars but the fact that it was so okay for the price point of ~$26 for "L'Hamburger" felt particularly irritating. I was beckoned by the prefix menu but upon looking at the other options I decided to order a la carte. The wine, was not anything special and it tasted quite heavily of sulfites, more typical of a cheaper brand. For an 84$ bottle, I was not amused. I ordered the Arancini balls, meatballs and bruschetta. The arancini balls were good but oily, the meatballs were okay but the bruschetta was definitely not fresh. Stopped by for restaurant week l lunch on Sunday and was quickly seated. We opted for an outdoor table since it was a nice day. For starters we had the mussels. The mussels were fresh and the white wine sauce was nice and garlicky, it paired well with the nicely toasted bread. For the entree I had the salmon salad. Salmon was well cooked, rest of the salad was pretty standard. The sliced avocados looked pretty but were rock hard. Other than that, a great meal. I was trying to take my mom out for a nice last night in New York but the experience of coming to the restaurant was disappointing. We arrived around 8 PM on a Friday night. The restaurant was fairly packed but the hostess said the wait would only be 15 minutes so we decided to wait. We waited around 35 minutes before we were actually seated. There was no actual waiting area in the restaurant since it was so small so we had to awkwardly stand around the door until we were called in. When we were seated I was very disappointed to see that we were not seated in one of the cute areas that surround the opening. Instead we were shoved into a dark corner on tiny table next to the bar. There was a giant crowd of bar patrons sitting behind us and just made the smaller space even more crowded. Worst yet was this awful guy who decided to stand next to our table halfway through our meal and just kept bumping me with his butt because he talked like a woodpecker - constantly bending over at the waist with no respect for those around him in such a small area. Service was slow as well - it was difficult to grab the attention of our server during the meal. When we finally did, we ordered the eggplant Parmesan appetizer and linguine di mare. The eggplant parmigiana was pretty average - a bit salty but the sauce was good and I was able to bring it home and make it into a good pasta dish the next day. The linguine di mare had a good flavor and amount of seafood. Our main complaint was that the noodles were not cooked enough and had way too much of a bite to them. However, once we told the server about it she brought out a replacement for us which was very nice and did turn out better. All in all, a disappointing night that was just hit and miss throughout the whole experience. read more
