Authentic Mexican cuisine at its finest! Since discovering this gem over the last summer, I've been…read morein practically every week! I've had flautas, burritos, quesadillas, tacos, and more and I have never been let down. I absolutely love the chicken tinga and salsa verde here. The chicken tinga burrito is my go-to order and I always request extra salsa verde because it is the best salsa to ever touch my lips! I could literally drink it...Everything is so fresh and tasty! The inside has beautiful cultural decor and plenty of tables. It is a BYOB restaurant so feel free to bring your favorite adult beverage. They can be quite busy at times, but service and quality have never fallen during rush hour. If you dine in, you'll start off with fresh chips and salsa verde, which if you haven't caught on yet, you will love. I've attached some pictures from this visit and from previous visits and yes...the burritos are *always* that big and bursting at the seams. If I had to choose my last meal, it would be La China Poblana, hands down.

The burritos are always packed, the presentation of the molcajete for two was amazing, and the quality of their chicken, steak and pork is always great. The salsa verde is 100/10 - I could drink it! You absolutely cannot go wrong with the staples - tacos, quesadillas, burritos, tostadas, fajitas, tamales... they do it all, and they do it WELL. The service is also great when dining in. The decor of the place feels like you're somewhere in the southwest - beautiful colors and imagery on every table, chair, and wall.

Awesome Mexican !…read more Came in with the wife and kids and an absolutely fantastic meal We got the chorizo tacos, the quesabirria tacos and a few chicken and fingers for the kids. Chips and salsa were on point, they actually brought 2 different kinds of salsa both very different and amazing. The consome for the birria was insane, we put it all over everything. Ended with churros which were A* Can't wait to come back and try more !

I had the bistec à la Mexicana (Steak Mexican style). We also had a medium order of guacamole. Daughter loved her tacos. My steak had very good flavor. It came with yellow rice and black beans along with those fajitas. Which I sent back as I had enough food. The food had good flavor. However, I wasn't a fan of the guacamole. I needed more flavor and spice. The negative: they have substituted the skirt steak with flank steak. Skirt steak seems to be the choice meat for every Mexican restaurant I've been to. The flank steak can be chewy and a bit tough if not cooked properly, which is what happened. So while it had very good flavor, it was just a bit tough and chewy as it also had fat and that chewy gristle. Not sure of proper name. I removed 2 stars because of this, the guacamole and because of the credit card price vs cash price. Not every restaurant charges this. The tip was also based on the after tax amount versus the before tax amount as well as on the credit card amount. It's an annoyance. So I adjusted the tip and gave 20% based on the actual subtotal, which has always been customary. They also included tip amounts for 30%. Things are getting ridiculous. I do plan to return and try other menu options that do not include steak and guac and update my rating based on my experience.

I ordered the white chicken soup to go and that's one. I would give a three out of five just because I feel like I could've had a little more flavor to it. I definitely had places where they were a lot more flavorful. We got the flautas which were super crispy super well done, and the tamales were also like homemade. I also ordered the quesadillas, which was very good portions were big, and the meat was the marinated pork which had tons of flavor. My mom ordered the seafood soup. I personally don't eat shrimp so I didn't try it, but everyone else on the table tried it and loved it. There was ample amount of seafood in the soup. The service was great. They were on top of everything and no one to check in onto their customers. Talking about the ambience it's very traditional and it's nothing glamorous when you walk in, which makes it very authentic . I personally came here for authenticity not for a great ambience, but instead great food. Definitely recommend

We were immediately seated after arriving. The restaurant is small and cozy, with white and green walls, a counter that's decorated to resemble Mexico's flag, and a dream catcher that hangs over it. A TV plays telenovelas by the entrance on the wall and packaged drinks are placed underneath it. Daughter ordered Huevos Con Chorizo, which is Mexican chorizo with eggs. This entree is her usual go to order. She said that it was a wonderful salt explosion and she loved it a lot . She also thought her entree was flavorful. Hubs ordered 3 Shrimp Tacos and thought they were good, but he was eating for dietary purposes. He saw what we ordered and was salivating and can't wait to return. He said that he loved the salsas. Lastly, I ordered Sopa De Mariscos/Spicy Seafood Soup. Hubs and I loved the soup. There was a fish head in the soup but he devoured it. The spiciness of the soup was perfect. Hubs ordered the Horchata and thought it was ok. Service was very friendly and quick. Hubs is already planning on when to go back to try other items on the menu. LOL.

The place is just as colorful and decorative inside as it is on the outside. They have different specials everyday and during the weekend they offer brunch specials along with bottomless mimosas. On Mondays they have buy 1 get 1 free margaritas. Happy Hour Monday-Thursday and other specials on all the other weekdays. My husband and I got some cocktails, guacamole, I got the chicken fajitas, and my husband got the birria tacos. I loved my espresso martini as it had a chocolate hint too it which I feel many places don't do anymore. My husband got the peach and mango belinni where the mango flavor was stronger than the peach which I loved because I am a mango fan. My husband wished his taco shells for the birria were a bit harder/crunchier but other than that he loved the flavor. I loved my chicken fajiatas as the chicken was still very tender. It also lasted me another 2 meals after this one. Although this place is a little on the pricier side I feel like you get your moneys worth. Plus the service is good and very fast.

There were 6 of us. The waiter gave us a small basket of chips. I asked if it was possible for another basket. He reluctantly said yes but never brought them. We asked another person and they didn't bring them either. My son wanted a steak quesadilla. The waiter said that the steak in the quesadilla was chili rubbed and the only way to have it plain was to get the up-charged $10 steak. That's absurd! My 3 year old would definitely not want a chili rubbed steak. I ordered chicken quesadillas instead. They were just ok. Nothing special. They didn't come with anything so I ordered rice and beans. I found them to be overpriced and not worth it.

After I put my order in, I walked my dog around the block and came back. Food was ready in about 20 min and the worker gave me a free Diet Coke! I tried the shrimp fra diavolo. Omg, so so good! The spicy sauce on it mixed in with the large, well cooked shrimps, Mexican rice and refried beans was godly. Def a heavier dish I couldn't eat everyday, but well worth it! I also tried a chicken taco. Slightly dry/bland - wish they gave me a bit more of their homemade hot sauce that was delicious! But still the taco was very authentic tasting. The guac was HUGE! And extravagant. Super creamy and mostly mixed with onions and cilantro. They gave me a bag of chips on the side. This tiny little spot has a fun inside with a tv, (they played Sabrina the Teenage Witch which was one of my fav shows growing up!), had a juke box, art on the wall and I recognized the Frida painting. A couple customers were inside dining - they had every other table blocked off. I was surprised to see they have Valentina hot sauce on the tables instead of Tapatio - but I guess it's really no big deal. If you're looking for a solid authentic spot in the Central NJ area - and you like spice, DEF TRY THE SHRIMP FRA DIAVOLO!
