We really enjoyed the items we ordered, which were birria tacos, steak tacos, and chicken quesadilla. My favorite of these items were the birria tacos. They were so flavorful and juicy. Visited this small family style. The reviews we read were very good and so we decided to give it a try. We were greated by a friendly and smiling waitress who made us feel welcomed. We were seated and offered menus , chips and 4 types of salsas were brought over quickly two were very spicy, one was a green sauce and the other was pico de gallo. My Girlfriend ordered the ellote. Corn as an appetizer and I had a beans and cheese Papusa. Both were delicious, I finished my papusa but the ellote was too much for My girlfriend to finish. I had the Bistec a la Mexicana, my husband had a burrito. The bistec had a very nice flavor profile that I don't recall having before. That is a winner in my book. Found this place when searching for high rates Birria tacos. Placed an over the phone order and went to pick it up. Everyone there was so nice. My order ended up taking 10-15 min longer than expected so they felt bad and said they threw something in for me. It was Mexican corn which was really good! Update: Went back to La Hacienda a few days later with my partner and everything was still amazing. He was also really impressed. I ordered the tacos again, he got the burrito, we both got the passion fruit juice and we finished it off with the tres leches. Service was amazing. Parking can be a hassle in this area but that's pretty normal, just need to read the parking signs. We ordered the birria tacos with a side of guacamole and chips. The orange sauce they provide is delicious--spicy and savory!! The birria was one of the best I've tried so far, and very juicy. Staff was very nice and there's plenty of seating. I would prefer my lettuce and tomatoes in my burrito but I see why they put it on the outside. The burrito was packed with delicious al pastor meat. I didn't taste much pineapple but when I did it was perfect. Their green sauce was great. A bit spicier than I thought and the red sauce was some creamy Chipotle. Had a strong spicy kick. Every time I come to New Jersey I stop by this restaurant. It's Mexican but it's also diverse like they have tostones, pupusas, it's a cultural fusion. Parking is challenging and the ambience minimal. The food and service more than make up for this. The guacamole was fresh, plentiful and delicious.
