I had come here for dental work, and was pleasantly surprised and relieved at the quality of service and people that work there. The staff were patient, and very helpful with my constant clarifying questions and curiosity. On top of great bedside manner, the procedure was relatively painless and even the day after I felt next to no aches or pain! Excellent service and even people, in summary. Thank you Dr. Ebeid, Isabel, and everyone else I didn't get the name of! read more

I was given a referral from my dentist to go see anEndodontist in San Rafael, Dr. Samar Ebeid. The reason I went there was because the receptionist told me that they did IV sedation. When got there and signed in inmade her aware that I had Delta Dental .insurance. Without putting any information in the computer she said my charge for the day was $652.09z my husband paid them. I went back to see the Dr. and he said I did not need a root canal. The next day it was bothering me that the receptionist never put any insurance info into the computer. I proceeded to call Delta Dental and explain the situation. I was told I was covered and should of only been charged 306$. I called Kaiser grievance and the lady Deborah did a 3 way call with myself and (Isabell) the office manager. She insisted I did not have insurance coverage,I explained that I did and she needed to please submit the proper paper work so I would get my credit back. K tried asking her a few questions, her reply was, "I'm too busy to answer any questions that she had others on the phone and hung up on me. I called her the next day and she said when she has the time she would send in the proper paper work. It's been over a month now. I have not heard anything. I put a call into her today and asked to speak with the Dr himself. She proceeded to say he was busy and hung up. I spent 4 hrs today between Kaiser Delta Dentist, the grievance department and the dentist office again. While talking to my assigned case manager Francisco at Delta Dental grievance department, I asked him if there was any news yet. He said to me something been mailed out two weeks ago. I proceeded to tell him I never received it. I told him that I had left 3 messages for him and he never got back to me. I kindly asked him to read the letter. His reply was ,"he did not have the time, would send it in the mail and then I can see what it says". At this Point I was ready to loose it and demanded that he read the letter to Me. It basically said that I'm not be getting any money back because the office manager at the Dr.s off did not get the information submitted in time. The moral of this story is avoid this office by all means!!! I have never ever been treated so disrespectfully by any company. I spent the last two hrs on the phone with Delta Dental and they are going to be contacting the main person in charge. Having to fight for something that is rightfully yours is so very upsetting. People with those bad attitudes have no place dealing with the publuc. All of this rudeness so so uncalled for and just to be spiteful she purposely got the documents in late know g I would not get a refund. Well I'm not talking this lightly. If I have to march into that Dr.s office and get the papers I need, I will do so. And I guarantee, I will NOT LEAVE WITHOUT THEM. I'm a very sweet and kind person to talk to when it comes to business calls but when I'm treated like shit, watch out. Horrible, Horrible experience with the office manager. Don't know much about the Dr. , at least not as yet... read more

BE CAREFUL!!!! Horrible experience, super bad endodontist Dr Lee which did my root canal leaving a residues in my molar and not taking any responsibility after it was infected and very painful, the staff very aggressive justifying the bad procedure even though i have X-rays from different dentist where i can prove that this procedure failed. read more

Wow!! I am So Impressed with Dr. Ebeid and his staff!! First off he is a kind and gentle soul! He allays your fears and makes you feel at ease with his chair side manner. He's also been a leader in utilizing the latest in technology, years ahead of the mainstream. Dr. Ebeid was one of the first in Marin to utilize 3D imaging to guide his work to perfection! On top of that he has the skill and the patience to do the most amazing job, and he is very gentle, as well! I appreciate all this, because I am in the business. I am a hygienist, and I know amazing work and teamwork when I experience it! I spoke with Isabelle, Dr. Ebeid's front desk coordinator, and explained my situation. She got me right in. His other long time front desk staff, Pat, was there to greet me on my first visit, and she helped me get thru the paperwork and questions. Wynona, his assistant of 20+ years was so eloquent in making my experience comfortable and assisting Dr. Ebaid to do his best work!! They barely uttered a word, and yet she knew .... Exactly what he needed! It was an eloquent dance!!! Marisol, Dr.'s other assistant of over 20 years, who backed both Doctor Ebeid and Wynona up.... to her, as well! Together they make a Great team! It speaks volumes when staff stays on for so many years! Such a great experience if you need a root canal. I Highly recommend Dr. Ebeid! It's all about ... trust and teamwork, and I am So grateful to work amongst the Very Best!! Hats off to Dr. Ebeid and his team!!! read more

As a referred patient for X-rays I asked if he accepted VA/MetLife insurance. The receptionist said no. When I checked out about 40 minutes later after the X-rays and a 5 minute consultation with Dr. Ebeid I was told that my bill was $295, which I paid by credit card. Three weeks later I received an Explanation of Dental Benefits notice from MetLife advising that my dentist submitted a claim for $541 that included $192 for Consultation. MetLife had paid the dentist $100.40. When I called to question the billing I was told that I must have misunderstood her response to my question because they always bill the insurance company and that the bill was $541. At no time had she mentioned any amount to me other than the $295, nor was I given a receipt for my payment. When I asked to speak to Dr. Ebeid, I was told that I should write a letter. Please consider this that letter. read more

A tooth which had been troubling me for years (through multiple dentist visits) finally needed a root canal - I was horrified when I saw the size of the abscess on Dr Ebeid's Xray, which covered the jaw, not just the teeth - this after a week on antibiotics. It took a lot of work to clear it but I was perfectly comfortable, and since then I have been able to chew on that side of my mouth for the first time in years. Best of all, I had been plagued by many silly little ailments for at least the last year, maybe even the two years since that tooth was crowned. I asked Dr Ebeid if this infection could have played a part in that, he said yes, the infection was significant. Since then I have felt noticeably better, which stands to reason. I hope I never have another root canal, but I know where to go if I do. read more

I don't write that many Yelp reviews but wanted to write about my experience with Dr. Ebeid. My dentist referred me because she thought I might need a root canal and she didn't do those procedures. I scheduled an appt for late in the day after I was coming back from a 4 day work trip. I literally landed at SFO and went to my appt. Dr. Ebeid said "yes you need a root canal and its going to get worse pretty fast". He had some time the following week but said he would stay late that night to do it right then if I wanted because he didn't want me to be in pain. I felt bad because the office staff stayed late but I was so happy though because my pain has subsided and Dr. Ebeid did a great job and I was out by 730pm. It was my first experience with the office, but everyone was friendly and professional and caring. Hopefully, I do not need more advanced dental procedures anytime soon but if I do, I will surely go back to see Dr. Ebeid. read more

I was extremely happy with the care and services I received from Dr. Ebeid. I recently experienced a dental emergency with pretty severe pain in my upper right molar. Dr. Ebeid was able to see me that same day ( a Friday) and he determined I needed a root canal. They were able to schedule the procedure for the following Tuesday. Root canals are not my favorite thing in the world and can be uncomfortable. Dr. Ebeid and his assistant ( I can't remember her name) were total pros, completing the procedure without pain and as comfortably for me as possible. I'm pretty big on bedside manner and I can say Dr. Ebeid completely surpassed my expectations. Everything was explained thoroughly and he even cracked a joke or two to lighten the mood ( I was a little nervous before the procedure). I had zero discomfort after the procedure and I appreciated that they followed up with me the following day. The office manager, Isabelle, is great too! She was so welcoming and accommodating. I would highly recommend Dr. Ebeid and will be going back if/when it may be necessary in the future. read more

Horrific experience!!! A real nightmare!! On top of the staff being rude and not returning phone calls. My root canal tooth turned into an infected tooth, then infected gums to after 2 months of pain it turned into a bone infection!!! Now I had to have oral surgery and remove the whole tooth! I never felt listened to and was not treated for a dangerous infection. Lost weeks of work and nights of sleep. read more

From the moment I walked into the office and met the receptionist I knew I was in good hands. I was getting a root canal so was nervous as had never met Dr Ebeid. I knew I had struck gold just in our short conversation together. Then when he started the root canal we both went into a concentrated mode together and I could feel his incredible focus and precision and dedication and skill as I settled back with the confidence of knowing I was with a true expert in the field. Needless to say it went very well. read more

I could write a book on all the problems Samer M. Ebeid DDS of San Rafael CA Has caused me and my family. I will just stick to my own personal experience and let the others decide if they want to warn others about him. First off, I found him to be very nice. But - either he needs glasses, better equipment or up to date training. I do not know. But he has caused me and people I know, YEARS of problems! I had a root canal done by him years ago that was never been quite right. I went back to him to check it. He did X-rays and said everything looks fine. A few years later I went back again. Again, he did X-rays and said everything still looks fine, don't worry. It slowly got worse. At first it hurt, then it went away for a little while then it hurt again. This went on for quite awhile. At this point have lost count on how many times I have gone back saying there is something not right. But my dentist refers her patients to him and he is in my network, plus he did the work so he should fix it. I told my dentist that the crown keeps raising and she has filled it down a few times but she said I need to find out why this is happening, I need to go back to Ebeid. Ive since moved out if the area and haven't found a dentist in my new location. Now the pain can not be ignored. I traveled back to Ebeid (4.5 hrs drive). He took X-rays, again and said everything still looks fine. In June/July 2020 I had to get a back tooth crowned (the tooth behind the one that has given me problems for years now) at my San Rafael dentist office. Now that newly crowned tooth's root started giving me pain. So I now have two teeth giving me pain. The original one and now a new one next to it! And of course my dentist referred me to Ebeid for a root canal. UGH, I did not want to have to go through with this crap again! And the years of pain only to be told everything is fine over and over again! In November 2020 I went to a local endometriosis who also took X-rays and said the X-ray clearly shows a root abscess on the older root canaled tooth and that is why you are having this problem. Where as Ebeid couldn't see anything wrong, FOR YEARS!! It is now March 2021 and I am starting to feel similar problems as I had with the previous root canal that Ebeid had done . My dentist told my she only works with Ebeid even after everything I had told her I had gone through with him previously, she said I'd have to go back to him. This is a pathetic joke!! read more

My root canal was assessed, scheduled, and performed with an impressive amount of professionalism tempered with kindness and good humor. Dr. Ebeid and his staff made me feel welcome and put me at ease throughout a two-visit program that proved to be absolutely pain-free. Ebeid's knowledge and clinical skill are balanced by his down-to-earth, relatable personal style. Because the appointments take some time I was able to witness firsthand just how consistently well Dr. Ebeid and staff treated other patients and visitors. I couldn't imagine recommending a different endodontist to anyone. read more

I was referred to this office by a dentist in the same building. I'm very clear with what I need from healthcare providers: one thing is to listen to me and the other is to give me information. I had a 3 hour root canal with my jaw propped open like a broken garage door and no information as to why it was taking so long (apparently a "complication") and then a temporary crown that didn't fit right despite me saying that, a return visit to get it filed down, and then when it fell out a few days later, he wasn't able to see me and I was referred to Walgreens to buy something temporary to out on my little stub of a tooth. Frustrated and disappointed. read more

Thank you Dr. Ebeid! My first root canal, and it was totally painless, just like he promised. I had a dead tooth that he quickly diagnosed and took care of the next day, as I had swelling and pain. Samer M Ebeid, DDS - Endodontists Near Me - San Rafael, California

I don't even know where to begin... Dr. Ebeid is hands down the BEST ENDODONTIST imaginable. I have had 5 root canals (thanks to bad genetics). Every root canal done by Dr. Ebeid was an absolute breeze. I kid you not, he is so gentle that I didn't feel him inject me with the anesthetic and fell asleep while he worked on me. He literally had to wake me up at the end (I had earbuds in & listened to a podcast during the latest procedure which was great & I highly recommend). With the latest root canal he performed on me a couple of weeks ago (and with the others) I came in with excruciating pain and walked out of his office pain-free & feeling great (no pain during the procedure & afterwards)! I was eating a huge tuna sandwich within an hour after the procedure. He is truly a perfectionist and possesses hands of GOLD! No words to emphasize how extraordinary his skills are.. honestly they're unmatched. My experience with the other endodontists I've been to were awful compared to my experience with Dr. Ebeid. Night & day. With my previous root canals completed by Dr. Ebeid, my primary dentist remarked that his work should be published in a textbook as "the perfect root canal." And Dr. Ebeid's staff is beyond FABULOUS! Everyone is so kind, professional, and caring. From Isabel at the front desk to his assistants in the back (Maricela assisted on my last two visits) everyone is exceptional! And their office seems to have the most advanced and up to date technology I've seen. I have referred so many friends and relatives to Dr. Ebeid and everyone has been thrilled with their experience and have thanked me for the referral. I cannot recommend Dr. Ebeid enough. He is the cream of the crop when it comes to endodontics! Take it from someone who is a root "expert"! read more

Save yourself time and money. This guy is a charlatan and his staff are incompetent (can't even produce a receipt with the correct address). And BTW, he must also be paying Yelp to hide the negative reviews. We were referred to his office by our dentist who since, has sold his business. After an hour of nothing (supposed consultation and C-scans) and $300 later, he referred my mother back to the original dental office for extraction only to have the x-rays re-done the next day at Select Dental. They must have some sort of a scam going on with Select Dental (Dr. MOLA {previous owner} and Dr. Victor Cuedras). Save yourself time and money and do your research. With COVID - these people have lost a lot of business and are literally fleecing their patients and scamming the insurance companies. I am filing a report with the consumer division of the DA office against him and Select Dental. BEWARE! read more

I had one of the best medical experiences ever with Dr. Ebeid last week. I had debilitating pain on the right side of my jaw. My dentist was convinced I needed at least one root canal and highly recommended Dr. Ebeid. Without going into all of the details, suffice it to say that Dr. Ebeid was very thorough and didn't choose the easy and most expensive diagnosis (my dentist was very impressed). My pain immediately began to subside and within 24 hrs I was pain-free. I'm super appreciative of the care he provided and couldn't recommend him highly enough. read more

I had to get a root canal and he was the only endodontist covered by my insurance. I had my reservations but what could I do? As with dental procedures and similar experiences, I could only close my eyes, say a prayer and hope for the best. I totally lucked out. As the other 5-star reviews attest, Dr. Ebeid was very warm, calming and took the time to explain everything to me carefully along with all associated risks. As someone in healthcare, I was impressed with his bedside manner, patience in answering questions, diligence in completing the procedure and kind demeanor towards patients. As someone who has had many a visit to the dentist's office, this was definitely my most positive experience. Related to the actual procedure, it was evident that Dr. Ebeid has the expert skill set and fine motor skills to do his job well. The RCT was on a tooth I was very nervous about, but he did it very carefully and kept me up-to-date about all he was doing and the results he was finding. His receptionist even called me a day later to make sure I was okay and was not experiencing any pain/swelling. Everything went very smoothly. Reading these reviews, I was most impressed by the honesty and genuineness of the 5-star reviews. You'll see in these reviews people who were nervous (understandably) about a potentially painful/difficult procedure but who were genuinely relieved and allayed by Dr. Ebeid. My experience has been positive so I can only echo that sentiment. The negative reviews really surprised me and seem somewhat inconsistent with my own experience (especially the ones that complain about money). In my own experience, the receptionist did her best to make sure I paid the lowest co-pay (ended up being about $70). I had no problems in this regard nor passing doubts about sketchy business practices. Overall, I'd highly recommend this endodontist and would entrust my friends and family members to his care for a root canal. I hope you have a similar experience. read more

Dr. Ebeid is the best of the best. I am a Plastic surgeon and I have been to him twice in the past 7 years for complicated tooth pain; each time I needed a root canal. The problem is "which tooth is it". He is a master at this better than anyone around. Six years ago I was past around until I found him. This recent bout, I paid 2100 dollars for a diagnoses and the complete root canal. This is a great deal, In my opinion. I have the same complaint from patients about cost, but this is what I charge and you have a choice. I have paid 3 times that 6 years ago with dentist working on the wrong tooth. You pay for expertise and experience. When you go to Dr. Ebeid he gets the job done and done right. I guarantee it !!!!!! PS: As a surgeon my self, I do get extremely upset when patient care is negatively affected by staff. It is a natural instinct for the protection of our patient care, practice and reputation. However, we can always do better and we do try. read more

I am sooooo grateful for Dr. Ebeid, DDS~~ My 10 year old was playing with his friends (around 5 pm) my husband called me at work and told me that he and another boy had hit mouth to head. My son lost one of his front teeth and the other was completely broken off to the gum line. By the time I had called around and gotten a hold of Dr. Ebeid it was 545 and it would take us 45 min to get there. It is now 9:30 pm and my little boy and husband are just leaving!! I can't tell you how grateful I am for he and his staff!!! They did a root canal on one of the teeth and are trying to save the other by putting it back into the socket (after my husband had placed it in milk not knowing what else to do) and stabilizing it to the adjacent tooth.... Long story short...I am extremely grateful that they cared enough to stay so long after hours to help my son!!! I miss the traditional mentality of health care professionals, to HELP their patients at all costs! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!! read more

I have been to Dr Ebeid twice in the last two years. As I have gotten older, it seems to be getting tougher to get my teeth numbed up for painful work! So, to say I am concerned about pain is an understatement! At my last trip to the dentist last week, I had a tough time in the chair. Despite many novocaine injections, I was just borderline anesthetized for the job of prepping a tooth for a crown and the job was a painful experience. I had the same concerns for pain management when I saw Dr Ebeid over a year ago and he was able to take care of me without a million injections! This time, was the same. No pain, a little discomfort and thats it! The doc and his assistant are very patient, calming and professional. The office has the latest tech equipment, is spotless and overall gives you the impression of a first class enterprise. Thanks, Dr Ebeid for another great experience and procedure. When it comes to getting dental work, I avoid it at all costs. This is because most experiences I've had, have been horrific. With that said I was a big skeptic going into this appointment. Getting a root canal is always the last procedure anyone wants to undertake. But the experience I just had with Dr. Ebeid was absolutely amazing. Starts off with the front desk woman greeting me with a smile and was kind and patient. She checked my insurance right away and even before I went in to get any work done they told me what my out of pocket was going to be, so I had no surprises. The dental assistant's were on point and friendly. Then there was Dr. Ebeib. Thank god for professionals like this one. Talked to me with confidence and focus. I got the feeling like he knew what he was doing and that I was in good hands. The procedure was pain free...that's right a root canal procedure was PAIN FREE. Don't think I've ever been able to say that about a dentist visit (minus the teeth cleaning of course). I even took a brief nap during the process. If that doesn't say something... I highly recommend going to Dr. Ebeib. And a personal thank you to him and his staff for instilling faith back into me about dentists. read more

I had to get a root canal and I was recommended to see Dr. Ebeid. The consultation was very clear, quick, and informative. The entire staff was very nice and professional. Isabel was a pleasure to talk to, she was very nice and helpful. Dr Ebeid fit me into his schedule to have a consult same day to discuss the procedure; which I appreciated considering I have a busy work and school schedule. Dr. Ebeid is simply the best. Was referred to him for my first root canal in early 2019..no issues. Switched primary dentists and was referred again to him for my second (and final) root canal. That kind of reach isn't by happenstance, it speaks to his professionalism and great care. He has quite a reputation. One that is well deserved! I'm a chicken...I'll admit it outright. All of the things that could possibly go wrong, play out in mind before appointments like these. Both times virtually painless. Last root canal was yesterday and woke up this morning with zero pain. His staff are wonderful and friendly (shout out to Isabel) and he knows what he's doing. He's truly gifted and in the center of his call. I was referred to Dr. Ebeid after I was still in pain from two chipped teeth. He did a couple tests and quickly determined that a bite problem was the culprit and a root canal was not necessary. He promptly polished a couple teeth and made a few adjustments to my night guard and the pain was reduced by half while I was still in the chair. Between Dr. Ebeid and his friendly and caring staff, a nerve-wracking situation was handled with so much kindness and professionalism. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family. I had to be referred to Dr. Ebeid the wizard of The Root-canal. This is a process that not even a crazy person looks forward to. Let's face it it's the worst case scenario for your day. . Dr. Ebeid has a staff that you feel comfortable with right away. Such a sweet couple of ladies. . The office is spotless. I really appreciated that. You don't stick to the chairs. GROSS!!! You know what I mean. Yep. . It's run so flawlessly. It's a well oiled machine. . This is a big one. I don't know about you but I get a little nauseated by over kill on the novocaine. The Doc takes his time and does it slowly until you are numb. Using half of what a dentist with 6 more rooms of patients does. That was so amazing to have that kind of care. . I don't know if you have almost been drowned by a hygienist before but I have. And it's no bueno. That's why I was so happy to have a dental dam placed. They can do the work but nothing goes down your throat and no need for a constant rinse. That's Torture. . Last one is the mans a gentleman. He's so nice and his work is impeccable. Dr Ebeid is very likable and professional. He also has a great bedside manner. He's able to help one relax when going through a very intrusive procedure, a root canal. Recently I went to him for a root canal. It's the second one he's done for me, but several things bothered me about this experience: 1 - Isabelle, his receptionist, when she returned my call the day before the procedure said, "Hi this is Isabelle with Dr Ebeid's office, what's up?" Not respectful, not professional. 2 - For the last ten minutes of the procedure, the anesthetic wore off and I was in terrible pain, as witnessed by the tears rolling down my cheeks. I made him and his asst aware of it but because I had so much eqmt in my mouth and because we were almost done, we didn't stop the procedure. I've been told, and it's been my experience, that in this day and age, dental and endodontic procedures should be completely pain free. 3 - They require payment before leaving. This has not been my experience at other dentists and endodontists. Being a small businessman, I can appreciate wanting payment right away, so this didn't really bother me, but if you're demanding payment the day of service you need to make sure you're charging the correct amount... 4 - I have Anthem dental insurance. Dr Ebeid is an Anthem preferred provider. That means that he has agreed to Anthem's rates, which are a bit less than the full rates he normally charges. When I went to pay, Isabelle charged my cc his full rate. She said that because I'd used up my maximum dental benefits for the year, I had to pay his full rate. This was wrong. I told her I'd never heard of such a thing and that the Anthem contracted rates apply whether I've exceeded my maximum or not. But she was sure. I called Anthem the moment I got in my car and was told that she was wrong. This upset me. I asked Anthem how long Dr Ebeid had been a preferred provider and they said eleven years. When I called Isabelle back to credit my cc, I asked her how long she's been with Dr Ebeid. She said twelve years. I told her that I didn't appreciate this, that this is her area of expertise, not mine. After eleven years there's no excuse for not knowing Anthem's protocol, and overcharging me $500. I would have appreciated an apology, but didn't get one. read more
