I needed an emergency root canal and was referred to Dr. Samer Ebeid by my dentist. As a new patient, the earliest consultation available was two weeks away, but I was in severe pain from an infection. I called back and explained my situation to Isabel, who was incredibly helpful. She was able to get me in for a consultation later that same week and scheduled my root canal for the very next day. Dr. Ebeid was straightforward and honest about my condition and the risks involved because of the location of the nerve. I appreciated his direct approach, which helped me make an informed decision. I have had two root canals with Dr Ebeid and both experiences were great. He explains the work he's doing and options for care. he really cares about his patients. I had very minimal discomfort both times. I just felt like I was in great hands. most recently, one day after my upper root canal I almost forgot that I had one. I never even got sore. I really recommend this dentist. His office is also competent with billing and what insurance will cover and what I might owe. Last time they actually sent me a partial refund check a few weeks later because insurance covered more than they had anticipated. It's a very honest practice. read more

I had a badly infected tooth and needed a root canal. Kaiser/Deltal USA HMO gave me Dr. Ebeid's name. First of all the dentist is excellent BUT! his office staff that is incredibly bad, rude and inept. On the phone they refused to make an appointment with me because they didn't like my insurance. When called called back to say I had upgraded my insurance they told me QUOTE " you have the worst insurance! I did get an appointment but not for a couple of weeks. Remember I got his name from my insurance company. Meanwhile taking strong antibiotics because of infection. Then they gave me an appointment not to do a root canal but an evaluation without telling me that. I am now a month into a severe infection. Finally, they do the root canal after waiting for 7 weeks! I could have died from sepsis. They charged me 1150$ and after checking the codes with my insurance company I find out they over charged me by 647$! it was supposed to be 503$ not 1150$. SO now after a month of dealing with Kaiser and Delta they agreed that Ebeid over charged me. And said they would refund the money...However after spending yet another day on the phone with Delta and Kaiser Grievance I have yet to see the 647$ refund. So my advice is if you ever have to deal with Dr, Ebeid's office run like hell! DO not go there. read more

I have been advised that root canal procedures should be done quickly after diagnosis to prevent further infection and complications, certainly within a couple weeks. My experience is that they delayed my root canal consultation by several weeks after initial contact, then afterward scheduled the root canal procedure for six weeks later. They claimed to be "understaffed." Root canal procedures should not be delayed so long. I finally requested a copy of my catscan disk (x rays), and even that took many days and many phone calls for them to complete. I'd recommend another endodontist, for sure. And indeed I found one in San Rafael that can complete the procedure in a week! Buyer beware! read more

I don't want to write a negative review because they can hugely impact the business owners who receive them, but if a medical or dental professional has or could harm others either medically or financially, I make an exception. Unfortunately this is one of those instances. Do not go here. Dr. Ebeid took a scan that insurance didn't cover - he said that it would help him diagnose my issue. But it turns out I didn't need that scan and he gave me an incorrect dental diagnosis. I got 2 other dental opinions after his diagnosis (thankfully my gut told me to get advice elsewhere before scheduling the procedure with him) and both dentists said his diagnosis was incorrect and the scan was unnecessary. Had Dr. Ebeid done the dental work he advised that I do, it would have caused my mouth a lot of damage and thousands of dollars in unnecessary dental work. Thankfully I was able to get the correct dental work needed done by a really great dentist. Read the reviews here who say similar things about Dr. Ebeid. I wish I had seen these negative reviews before I went to him, but I was referred to Dr. Ebeid by my regular dentist, so I assumed the referral was a good one. I've let my dentist know about this so hopefully they won't refer him to any of their patients. read more

I had to get some unexpected dental work and I'm glad I found Dr. Ebeid. I was stressed out but he made the experience as pleasant as possible. He mentioned a couple times it would be pain free and he followed through. The assistants and receptionist Isabel were very kind and friendly. His office is located in an office building behind Northgate One on the first floor. There is plenty of parking under the building. He accepts Delta Dental PPO insurance. I called Dr. Ebeid's office hoping to make an appointment for an extreme toothache, and I was so grateful when they kindly fit me in that very same day. From the moment I arrived, the office staff was warm, welcoming, and put me at ease. I was brought into the patient room by Dr. Ebeid's assistant, and before he even entered, I overheard the respectful, gentle, and polite way he spoke with his team. In that very second, I felt completely reassured that I was in the right hands for what I suspected might be a root canal. Dr. Ebeid performed a very thorough exam and, with his expertise, identified that the tooth causing the problem wasn't actually the one I had suspected -- something I so appreciated, as it speaks to his careful and precise approach. I would highly recommend Dr. Ebeid from experience. I went to see Dr. Ebeid for a root canal on recommendation from my dentist. I was able to get an appointment within a couple days and found communication with the office very easy and reliable. Dr. Ebeid was very friendly, but focused. He made sure that the work needed to be done and very communicative with me before getting to work, and he commented that he'll not likely be communicating once he starts -- which was fine with me. The work seemed to have been very well, and I had little pain thereafter. I took a couple Tylenol right after the work, and that was it. Everything feels fine in my mouth. No pain, no sense that any work was done, other than the pain from the nerve no longer present. The only thing I didn't like was the number of xrays throughout the procedure. There must've been about 7-8 xrays. I understood he does them to see that progress is being made as expected. But, if I had to do over again, I would ask about the necessity. read more

I can't speak highly enough of Dr Ebeid. As a seasoned citizen on a budget, I'm now on Delta Dental w/Kaiser. And to be honest, I kind of expected to get some kind of "discount dentistry", lol. Instead, I was lucky to have Dr. Ebeid work on my mouth yesterday, and I am in fact kind of amazed at what he was able to do. Usually, when you have an existing crown and need a root canal, you end up losing the crown. He listened to my concerns -- yes he's actually listens -- about the costs and went way far out of his way to preserve the crown. And saved me so much money in the process. It turns out that he utilizes a technique you don't often see used; he carefully goes into the back of the tooth and extracts the nerve via that route. All without taking the crown off, impressive. He's also one of those guys you'd like to have over for dinner. You can tell that, besides being a dedicated professional, he's also a family man, a dog lover and a person who genuinely cares. DO NOT see this doctor unless you have a pre-authorization from your insurance carrier! I was referred to Dr Ebeid by my dentist who told me that Dr Ebeid would get a pre-authorization from Delta Dental and let me know what my out of pocket would be. When I called Dr Ebeid's office I was told that my total out of pocket expense would be $295 as my insurance does not cover a CT scan. After the appointment for the CT scan, and less than 5 minutes with Dr Ebeid, I paid the $295 and left. Three weeks later I was informed by Delta Dental that Dr Ebeid billed for two additional x-ray images and a consultation fee of $192. I contacted Dr Ebeid's office and wrote a letter to Dr Ebeid stating I was never informed of any additional charges that would be performed in addition to the charge that was quoted for the CT scan. When I contacted the Dr's office by telephone to question the additional charges, the receptionist was very rude and told me to send a letter to the Dr, which I did. My letter to the Dr stated that I was never informed of the additional charges and I received a written three page response of mainly nonsense including the following: "It is the responsibility of the insured to be aware of the terms of their policy". Had I known there were additional procedures, I would have insisted on a pre-authorization so I could time my appointment to a period where I had coverage. Additionally, the Dr wrote that they "will not accept any communication from me including phone calls, USPS mail or email." They are also "terminating my chart from their office and will no longer see me as a patient." They are now threatening to turn me over to collection for a balance due of $156, even though they will not accept a check by mail or a phone call for a credit card payment. In summary, if there are any other providers for this service, use them. read more

I had 3 root canals before with Ebeid and was satisfied with the results, until August 2023. Nobody wants to feel cheated and with Dr. Ebeid that's exactly how I felt on that day. My dentist recommended I see him again for another root canal when my #3 molar became abscessed. The technician did the 3d X-rays and he gave me a FIVE MINUTE consult telling me he couldn't help me; I didn't need a root canal; I needed a periodontist for an extraction. And for that I was charged $487 dollars, $285 for the X-ray and $200 to tell me he couldn't help me! The office helper said i would be refunded any money Delta Dental paid; which they didn't to! After spending about $7,000 for those other root canals he didn't have the courtesy of giving any discount. I will NEVER go to him again! read more

Woweee, Dr Ebeid is amazing! I was so dreading the root canal only to discover that with Dr Ebeid, this was the easiest dental procedure EVER. First, he was fully on board with eliminating all pain; he spent some time talking me through my options (answer: nitrous all the way). Second, he has a caring manner that is very calming. And third, bar none, he has a cheek technique that 100% eliminated the novocaine shot experience. Like, how the heck???? Even though I had an abcess around my molar, I was delighted that he did not want me taking antibiotics. The root canal itself was no different than getting a filling. Just that simple. I was given a referral from my dentist to go see anEndodontist in San Rafael, Dr. Samar Ebeid. The reason I went there was because the receptionist told me that they did IV sedation. When got there and signed in inmade her aware that I had Delta Dental .insurance. Without putting any information in the computer she said my charge for the day was $652.09z my husband paid them. I went back to see the Dr. and he said I did not need a root canal. The next day it was bothering me that the receptionist never put any insurance info into the computer. I proceeded to call Delta Dental and explain the situation. I was told I was covered and should of only been charged 306$. I called Kaiser grievance and the lady Deborah did a 3 way call with myself and (Isabell) the office manager. She insisted I did not have insurance coverage,I explained that I did and she needed to please submit the proper paper work so I would get my credit back. K tried asking her a few questions, her reply was, "I'm too busy to answer any questions that she had others on the phone and hung up on me. I called her the next day and she said when she has the time she would send in the proper paper work. It's been over a month now. I have not heard anything. I put a call into her today and asked to speak with the Dr himself. She proceeded to say he was busy and hung up. I spent 4 hrs today between Kaiser Delta Dentist, the grievance department and the dentist office again. While talking to my assigned case manager Francisco at Delta Dental grievance department, I asked him if there was any news yet. He said to me something been mailed out two weeks ago. I proceeded to tell him I never received it. I told him that I had left 3 messages for him and he never got back to me. I kindly asked him to read the letter. His reply was ,"he did not have the time, would send it in the mail and then I can see what it says". At this Point I was ready to loose it and demanded that he read the letter to Me. It basically said that I'm not be getting any money back because the office manager at the Dr.s off did not get the information submitted in time. The moral of this story is avoid this office by all means!!! I have never ever been treated so disrespectfully by any company. I spent the last two hrs on the phone with Delta Dental and they are going to be contacting the main person in charge. Having to fight for something that is rightfully yours is so very upsetting. People with those bad attitudes have no place dealing with the publuc. All of this rudeness so so uncalled for and just to be spiteful she purposely got the documents in late know g I would not get a refund. Well I'm not talking this lightly. If I have to march into that Dr.s office and get the papers I need, I will do so. And I guarantee, I will NOT LEAVE WITHOUT THEM. Dr. Ebeid put me right at ease and explained the X-rays and scans of my tooth to me very clearly and he didn't rush me. As a referred patient for X-rays I asked if he accepted VA/MetLife insurance. The receptionist said no. When I checked out about 40 minutes later after the X-rays and a 5 minute consultation with Dr. Ebeid I was told that my bill was $295, which I paid by credit card. Three weeks later I received an Explanation of Dental Benefits notice from MetLife advising that my dentist submitted a claim for $541 that included $192 for Consultation. MetLife had paid the dentist $100.40. When I called to question the billing I was told that I must have misunderstood her response to my question because they always bill the insurance company and that the bill was $541. At no time had she mentioned any amount to me other than the $295, nor was I given a receipt for my payment. When I asked to speak to Dr. Ebeid, I was told that I should write a letter. Please consider this that letter. read more
