Dr. Mason extracted a molar. He and his staff were excellent. He advised me of exactly what was happening at every step, patiently answered questions, and performed the procedure as painlessly as one could expect. (The only pain was on administering the novocaine.) read more

I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so that other patients can make an informed decision. In my experience, Dr. Mason Lee's implant treatment resulted in a long, painful, and expensive ordeal. My two dental implants were placed without using a surgical guide, and they ended up in positions and at angles that could not be properly restored with crowns. When I asked Dr. Lee to remove the implants and redo the entire procedure, including the necessary bone grafting, he told me he preferred not to because rebuilding the bone horizontally after removing the implants might not be successful. He also said that he did not feel confident performing that procedure and acknowledged that it was beyond his limitations. At a follow-up appointment, he offered only to remove the implants. By that point, I no longer felt comfortable continuing treatment with him and decided that I wanted another implant surgeon to handle my case from start to finish. Instead of covering the full cost of correcting the problem, Dr. Lee refunded only a portion of the fees I had paid for my treatment. As a result, I had to spend many thousands of additional dollars to have the improperly positioned implants removed, undergo bone grafting, and have two new implants placed by another surgeon. Because I had to seek treatment from another implant surgeon, the entire corrective process took approximately a year and a half. It involved removing the improperly positioned implants, performing bone grafting, allowing time for healing, and then placing two new implants in positions that allowed my treatment to move forward. This experience cost me significant additional time, money, physical pain, and emotional stress--far beyond what should have been required for what is typically a routine implant procedure. I am writing this review to help other patients understand my experience before choosing an implant surgeon. I simply do not want another patient to go through what I went through. If you are considering implant treatment, I strongly encourage you to ask whether a surgical guide will be used, discuss the treatment plan in detail, and consider obtaining a second opinion before proceeding. read more

Dr. Lee and his staff are amazing and so friendly! I just had my infected, root-canaled tooth extracted. Dr. Lee was fast, gentle, and explained everything. I can't wait to go back to get my ceramic dental implant placed. read more

I am very pleased with the care from Dr Mason Lee. He performed 2 implants simultaneously last September and everything went well. Coordination with my general dentist was smooth and worry free. The process was painless and any discomfort was fleeting. Dr Lee listens well, instilling care, confidence and expertise in all of my interactions. He is a highly recommended Oral Surgeon. read more

I always dreaded going to the dentist, UNTIL Dr. Mason Lee. I highly recommend him and this is why. Telephone and Front desk Joanna and Cristal , Xray Ani and Asst. Destiny are amazing. They are kind , polite and knowledgeable ladies. They made me feel safe and heard. Dr. Lee is an amazing talent as he did complicated oral surgery on me and I swear, I felt absolutely NO pain. Dr Lee also explained everything to me. The entire visit has changed my fear of the dentist to I can now have other work I need done with NO stress and NO fear. I would give 10 stars if I could. Just coming back 3 months post-surgery to confirm that the healing process was super smooth, I encountered no problems at all and Dr. Lee was available to answer all my questions. Obviously it took way less than 3 months to be totally healed, but just wanted to post this update anyways. read more

I'm kind of in shock. I looked around for several dentists to get an extraction at an affordable rate. His was lowest, but his state-of-the-art x-ray system was out of my league and not really necessary so I chose to get my own (fine with him). His office person Joanna (great!) said I needed a consultation so I booked it. Dr. Lee was very engaging, perfect "bedside" manner, asked all the right questions. He did not look into my mouth but did spend 10 minutes with me before suggesting waiting for the extraction until there was pain as an indicator. I was all in. Out front, I heard him say "...Half an hour" (triple actual time) to Joanna, and that was $150. Not at all happy. read more

I had to get my wisdom teeth removed in August and was very nervous about having any dental procedures done. Dr. Lee and his staff were patient and answered all of my questions - which helped put me at ease. Months later and everything has healed up nicely with no complications. Dr. Lee recently extracted a tooth from my mouth. He is one of the best dentists I have ever seen... He's very meticulous and detailed. He explained everything he was doing during the procedure and made sure I was completely comfortable. I have two dentists in my family and I will seeing him in the future without question. read more

Great doctor. Very talented and runs a very tight wonderful ship. Very importantly: the billing and paying system is very straight forward and easy; way better than some other doctor offices. Thank you for doing such a great job removing both of my kids' wisdom teeth! Feedback: make sure the patient is able to stand on their own two-feet before releasing then to be moved from the office to the car and home. Even then, ALWAYS be sure to have one or two people helping the patient walk and ready to stop them from falling. We made it home fine but it wasn't easy. read more

Phenomenally talented and very pleasant. Had an extraction today, which was simply painless. Had dreaded it somewhat, but it wasn't even unpleasant. He also tells you exactly what he is going to do as the surgery goes forward, which lessens one's anxiety. Highly recommended. read more

Doctor Mason Lee has treated me and my family very well. He is extremely accommodating and kind. Me and my family had all of our wisdom teeth removed by him and he was effective and careful. I have great experience with Dr. Lee. I had 4 wisdom teeth to be extracted and felt really nervous about it because noone in my family had great experience with the removal. After meeting with Dr. Lee at the consultation I knew I met the right Doctor for it. He explained catefully how it was done and what he would do to avoid overdosing and underdosing the patients and gave me all the information needed. The operation was great. I don't have any memory of it which was the whole purpose of the anesthesia. I recovered pretty quickly. Just a lot of icing and fluid and keep the stitches clean. They do offer 6 months for payment which is really great. And the cost is as good as you can get in Marin. I would totally recommend him. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Lee and his staff. I had an infected tooth pulled and it was almost like a dream. Everyone was so friendly and professional and Dr. Lee was very personable. I was in and out very smoothly, and the bill was very reasonable. read more

I went to Dr. Lee for a tooth extraction (hopefully in preparation for an implant) and he was fantastic. I didn't know what to expect for a tooth extraction and was very anxious but Dr. Lee made it a quick and comfortable experience. My referring dentist said Dr. Lee is his first choice. I was able to get an appointment promptly, the staff were friendly, I appreciated being able to complete the new patient forms online, and the office is large and clean. read more

Conscientious, talented and incredibly kind. The primary dentist had recommend 4 extractions for my 86-year old mom. Dr. Lee found the recommendation unnecessary and only pulled one as he didn't want to put added stress on a geriatric patient. Highly recommend this office. read more

I cannot recommend Dr. Lee and his staff enough! When I found out I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed as an adult, I was terrified. After my initial consult with Dr. Lee I knew I was in good hands. He took time to meticulously answer all of my questions, calm my fears and also recommended we only remove the one wisdom tooth (rather than all) since the others weren't bothering me. The procedure was so smooth, and Dr. Lee and his staff made sure I was comfortable, informed and calm. Its been a few weeks post surgery now and I'm feeling great and healed up! Thank you Dr. Lee for making this frightening experience one that I will remember as safe, comfortable and kind! read more

Aren't you looking forward to having your wisdom teeth yanked out of your mouth!? I bet you are! If you have been referred to Dr.Lee, then chances are, you will actually have no bad thoughts when people bring up wisdom teeth in the future. After having so many friends, and family members tell me there painful stories of getting them pulled out, I had basically decided not to ever have it done....... So of course they start pushing my other teeth around, and if I didn't pull it soon, I would look like I was English (Yeah, I said it!) So I was referred to Dr. Lee. I go in, get my consultation, go back a few weeks later and "rippp!" I felt nothing, yes, I was asleep, but nothing. I woke up after the procedure, screwed up on some great gas, and whatever they used. I figured that it would only be a matter of time till the pain came, but I was wrong. I have talked to several other people who have used Dr. Lee's service, and everyone has had the best of things to say. If I should ever be so fortunate to have some problems with my teeth down the road, you can bet your butt I am going back to my man, Dr. Lee! read more

Of all the experiences in my life which warrant 5-star reviews, I never ever thought that getting my wisdom teeth out would be one of them. I owe it all to Dr. Lee. I avoided getting this done for years, because of all the horror stories I'd heard from other people, but now I wish I'd done it sooner. The WORST part of the entire experience was sitting in the waiting room prior to the procedure, feeling nervous. After that, it was smooth sailing. The anethesiologist told me to count backwards from 3 to 1, I think I only got to 3, and the next thing I knew I was sitting up with cotton in my mouth and a cool gauze headband. How did he do that? Dr. Mason Lee is the REASON i joined yelp, just so I could pass on this amazing review to anyone feeling apprehensive about getting their wisdom teeth out, as I was. As soon as you meet him, you will be completely at ease with his gentle, friendly manner. Thanks Dr. Lee! read more

Great Doctor, Great Staff!! My daughter recently had her wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lee. He was patient and kind. His office staff went out of their way to check on my insurance coverage while I was in the office. I have nothing but good things to say about this experience with Dr.Lee. Here we are a year later and I had to have a wisdom tooth removed!! Same great experience, except however for the older lady in the front. She seemed really confused...couldn't find my information from my dentist, gave me the wrong time for my appointment, and her directions were extremely confusing. Then she billed me twice for my xray and when I brought it to her attention, she told me I was wrong! I had to fight to have her remove the mistake. I have never delt with someone who knew so little about her job. read more

I have to admit I'm a very anxious dental patient, but Dr. Lee was awesome. Only a couple of hours ago he pulled a wisdom tooth that had been giving me a lot of problems. He was extremely patient and I could tell that he really cares about his patients. I defiintely give him two thumbs up and would give him as a recommendation to anyone who needs dental work done, especially those who have anxiety about going to dentists/oral surgeons! This guy is great, believe me! The staff is very nice as well and cares about the patients as much as Dr. Lee. Thank you very much!! read more

I had to get a tooth pulled from a very old root canal, and I was terrified. Dr. Lee was recommended to me by my (also awesome!) endodontist. Am I glad I took his advice. Although not a painless process, Dr. Lee was kind, professional, and really informative about what my next steps could be. I really appreciated the fact that he mentioned he could create an implant for me, or I could go with (a much cheaper)bridge, but I never felt pressure one way or the other. I also loved how mellow and calming his assistant was through the whole procedure, read more

After the wonderful experience I had with Dr. Lee doing my tooth extraction, I tried to persuade him to get Board Certification in Dermatology, Opthamology, and Internal Medicine so he could treat my other problems as well. If I were on the Nobel Prize committee, I'd nominate Dr. Lee for a Peace Prize. If I were a politician, I'd pass a law mandating annual tooth extractions by Dr. Lee for everyone with teeth. If I were a single female, I'd ask him to marry me. If you haven't seen Dr. Lee, you don't know what medical excellence means. Make an appt. today. Michael R. Dr. Lee is extremely skilled and knowledgeable. I had a tooth implant procedure two years ago that was painless and healed without any difficulty. I then scheduled my two teenagers to have their wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lee. They both had excellent experiences too. They healed very quickly and also had very little swelling. We really expected it to be a longer recovery time and were very pleased that they could return to school on Monday without a problem. I highly recommend Dr. Lee! read more

I had to have an emergency removal of a very pesky wisdom tooth removed last Tuesday and I called for the appointment at 8:30 on that very day. They fit me in within an hour! Not only is the staff amazing but the office has top-of-the-line equipment. Dr Lee is very kind, very informative and took me seriously when I arrived the next week, convinced that I had a raging infection. Nope, turns out I'm just a big wimp in regards to pain! My dentist referred me and I would recommended Dr Lee to anyone needing oral surgery. read more

I had the most horrible experiences with the office staff. No one knows what they're doing as far as billing! They blamed me for their mistakes, then blamed each other, and finally just hung up on me, even though I was trying to pay right then via my Health Savings Account. They didn't know what that was! They told me to take a pill an hour ahead of my surgery (that really made me loopy!) and then said it was my fault I failed to give them my new address. My fiance said they never asked for it. Then they sent the bill to my ex-husbands address.....a place I've NEVER lived! They didn't even call me, even though they had my correct phone number and email address. Terrible terrible service! read more

I only had one wisdom tooth with a cavity, Dr. Lee suggested to me to take all of them out maybe for the money of my insurance, first he was so informative and patience, but after I month since I still had numbness in one side and my nerve was healing , never the same, but it got worse, I told him I ate a popcorn, I was such a pain and I had a lump and I explain to him, he did not even care, he gave me antibiotics and never explain to me, he was a different person after my insurance pay, nor I am still in pain, so depress because I worked with children with special needs my only fun mtn biking and seems is so far as I feel:( be careful when things do not go his way:( read more

Seems like a good technician, and has a good reputation. However, re patients, this dentist becomes impatient, defensive, and rude if there are any complications after the procedure-- as if he were being personally insulted. And is resentful if there needs to be follow-up. He denied that there was an abscess after the extraction and I eventually needed to have the adjacent tooth extracted as a result. This is not an essentially kind or caring oral surgeon, my hunch is that he sees his practice first as a business. His front office staff were nice, but not happy campers, talked openly about looking for a new career (job). And I looked for a new dentist after this unfortunate experience. read more

I had a wisdom tooth removed by Dr Lee in May 2014. I found Dr Lee to be very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. The whole process was completed in about 20 minutes and went very smoothly. Dr Lee has a friendly and patient demeanor and was very receptive to questions and concerns. There was a small very minor billing issue which was corrected immediately and I really appreciated that. There are always oversights and misunderstandings in a consumers life. Its nice to deal with a business that delivers excellent service and is accountable as well.
