great cheap pizza, brings in all kinds of crowds. A nice little hole in the wall... with several holes in the wall because of crazy events

The pizza is so good if you order and eat in the establishment. The delivery is quick, but they always bring the wrong order! I ordered chicken WINGS and got chicken FINGERS. The side of blue cheese is something to laugh at and mostly tastes like ranch. The pizza wasn't cut. I actually started laughing when I opened the pizza box. I won't be ordering delivery from them again, but I will continue to order a slice to go if I'm in the area. read more

Great, simple pizza. The oven must be inhabited by elves or something because the crust is always cooked to an impossible perfection. Fresh dough and great tasting sauce and cheese. I also hear they've applied for a liquor license. Hmmm, now if I could walk out of there with my steaming pizza while guzzling a giant beer from a paper bag, five stars all the way. read more

Ordered via GrubHub and the driver initially took the wrong pizza. After contacting GrubHub and talking to the manager they sent the correct pizza, and it was very delicious! Great customer service! read more

I used to like this place, but it seems like they care more about money and less about their quality of food. The workers are kind, but but I can not speak as highly of their pizza. The pizza looked rushed, the crust was soggy and couldn't even hold its own cheese. I WILL NEVER ORDER AGAIN. read more

Great meatball sub! Toasty, cheesey, YUM! Small is pretty big! The staff was very friendly too. If I was over there more I'd stop in again.

Best pizza in JP, with the exception of the specialty pies at Dogwood. It's the perfect slightly greasy pie to compliment a beer or booze buzz! read more

Although a pricier option than some, the pizza is really top notch. A cheese slice that is nearly New York! Worth the extra dough (see what i did there? -oof). read more

THE place to go for a cheese slice in JP!!! My husband and I are addicted. Shake some oregano and red pepper flakes on top, and you've got a near-perfect slice for a very reasonable price. Mmmmmm... read more

Best cheese slice in JP, no doubt!

Great simple cheese pizza. Where 2 slices fill you up. The dough is fresh with plenty of sauce and cheese. Service is fast and friendly

Never actually eaten inside, but this is where I'd always order pizza in JP. I like it a lot but it is a little pricey, I think. Like $16-17 for a large plain cheese pizza? But it's the best in JP, in my opinion. read more

Best pizza this side of the North End I've been going to this place since it was called Slice O' Pie and then Papa Gino's yes this is the original papa Gino's had my picture taken with Santa Claus every year played the table top juke boxes and watched the soap operas in the back room as a teenager best food best memories this place is awesome read more

My family and I have been coming here for years. The pizza is awesome. I mean, I'm not sure what else to say. What more could you want from a pizza place? read more

Never eaten inside, but I've ordered delivery a million times. Perfect pizza at great prices. This is the first place I think of when I think of pizza in JP. read more

Best pizza in jp. They deliver a d are consistently delicious - the one drawback is that they are a bit expensive

Absolutely fantastic! The food was perfect. They were not stingy with the feta cheese or the chicken on my salad. The dressing was really good as well (so my friend says, I'm trying to cut down for diet). The pepperoni slice was EVERYTHING!!‼ Didn't need to touch it up with seasoning or anything! The crust was a perfect crunchy chewy, and fresh! They sell fast & are busy (in a good way). The wait was not long either. All the way everything I could've hoped for in taste, quality, space, time, quantity, etc. I highly recommend & can't wait to come back and bring people to share the goodness! YOU HAVE TO COME TRY THIS PLACE OUT! read more

This was a decent pizza place. The slice was huge, with a nice thin crust and plenty of pepperoni. I think it could have used more sauce as that's one of my favorite parts of a pizza, but I just asked for more on the side. Very friendly and efficient staff. read more

Like you can't go wrong with your traditional eats, you can't go wrong at the Same Old Place. While I havent had the chance to try there subs yet, there pizza is great and doesnt taste like your typical chain brand. The staff is funny and accomodating. read more

The slices of plain cheese pizza can't be beat. They're flat with a crispy crust, just enough sauce, and plenty of cheese. The fries are good too. read more

Pizza has a layer of crust that barely holds the tomato sauce and any toppings it may contain. Lack of flavor. If you have not eaten pizza outside JP, I could see how you would think it's the best place to eat pizza in JP. read more

i can't say i've actually eaten here before, but out of the food that my friends orders for delivery, and she orders takeout a lot, this is some of the better pizza i've had. It's not the best, but it beats many others. read more

I got a craving for pizza the other day and it was freezing out so i decided to place a delivery order from same old place, after reading reviews from yelp to help me decide. The delivery time was just what they said it was (45 minutes). the pizza was good, but nothing to amazing, the cheese sticks were really good. So for a large hawaiian and some cheese sticks it cost me $26, that seems more expensive than others on who have reviewed would lead you to believe. But all that said, i would order from here again. read more

Hmmm ordered onion, peppers , sausage pizza and it had no sausage with a 35min wait... Not good!

Loved coming here. I got the special 2 slices & a soda for $5!!! Great pizza & price! They're friendly and super fast!!!!! :)

That was pretty much the worst pizza we have had. Not only was it bland and uneventful but by the time it was delivered, it was soggy. But the main reason for the one star is that we had it for dinner and it's now the middle of the night and we up sick. read more

excellent pie ny style extra cheese and pepperoni and it was awesome and cooked to perfection will go again for sure great pizza and great guys behind the counter read more

Best possible restaurant I could imagine. I've been going here my whole life and I love everything about it, I hope this post brings it more business, read more

Best thing about Same Old Place are the people that work there. I don't know if they are all related or if they have all just been working there for years, but they seem to have the best time flipping pizza dough and taking orders. It makes you want to come back and do it all over again. Oh, food is good too. I think I was there one time and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger sub, and the thing was so huge I had to cut it up into little bits. Anyplace that makes subs that big is gold with me. Nothing "Same Old" about it. read more

Been going here 30 years. Best "Old School Italian Pizza Place" pizza in Boston. Similar in style to Papa Gino's (as opposed to your local pizza place) only perfect. Their Italian subs and meatballs are also topshelf. My personal favorite is pepperoni w\ double cheese. I would give 5 stars but the restaurant space is kind of low rent and the parking can be tricky. It is worth the 20 minute drive for me. Past a dozen neighborhood pizza joints. read more

Some of the best pizza in Boston. Always fresh and a lot of options. Good people behind the counter. This is the place you would want to be your local pizza hang out. Great subs as well! read more

A nice place in JP. The food is good-especially for the price! The service wasn't the speediest when I was there but all the employees were very pleasant and helpful! I'd definitely go back--especially for a cheap take out pizza option! read more

This was hands down one of the best slices I've had since "Famous Joe's" on Houston st in NYC. I got a slice, was absolutely blown away, and went biking. After riding around for about an hour I had to go back and get another. Absolutely amazing pizza. read more

I don't know why people are raving about this place it's just ok the guy that was stoned at the counter got our order wrong he said sorry and was still professional but the food and service isn't anything to race about read more

Pineapple, garlic & green pepper pizza is pretty good!

This place is great. Employees are super nice, helpful & pleasantly chatty. Pizza slices are big with crisp crust. I like the interior too. It's the experience/ ambiance you want when you're looking for a casual slice. read more

Ok so all I have ever ordered is a slice. But they do pizza well, you never have to wait long and it is priced just right.

You'll go here everytime you're in JP! I love this restaurant, they love me and I'm not white! I'm sorry to the one customer who had a bad day. I have never seen or experienced any racial issues at SOP. (btw, alot of the afternoon and evening staff are non white, hmmm)The owner and staff have always been amazing to me and my kids who come in every week for over 2 years! I had my 2 year old son's pancake birthday party there in that back room with huge TV on a Saturday morning last month and we had a blast. Our service is personable and the owner (Fred) is the real deal! It doesn't get much better than that! I've seen other regulars like myself as well as lawyers, law enforcement, construction, college kids, long time residents, and even famous musicians (I've had convos with alot of them!) It's so easy to be social there and being from the South, it's a perfect hometown spot to slide into for pancakes and a cup of tea or grab a slice of pizza on your way home from work. Love it, love it, love it. Highlights: Pancakes: thin and crispy; pizza: great cheese and sauce; Massachusetts burger: secret sauce is TO DIE FOR! read more

I got my first bad pizza from this place tonight. Its cheese and it tastes like bacon. Usually, the pizza from here is awesome. I will still continue to order from there, its the best pizza in JP. read more

This is my favorite pizza in Boston. Very thin, delicious, not too greasy. Love the subs and wraps too, very filling and fresh! The staff is friendly, the food is made to order, and it feels good supporting a business that has been in JP for over 40 years. Great prices, even in a bad economy. So happy this place now delivers to Roslindale!!!! read more
