It's a sad day in pizza hell! Went here today and got a small extra cheese, chicken finger dinner and a 2 liter of pepsi. The total for meal.....a whopping $29.59 without tip....25% tip is the first option at the payment screen btw. Anyways the pizza turned out okay....but the chicken fingers were BURNT, bland, and didn't come with any sauce or even ketchup. Idk what's going on with this place but $30 for a small pizza, chicken fingers with no added sauce/condiment and a soda is beyond ridiculous. I love the pizza but I'll never get to enjoy it again. I took my daughter here for breakfast one Saturday morning. The breakfast was a well done, standard American breakfast. But the owner was a total a-hole. He was super rude to his staff, grimaced a lot and kept addressing the old lady patrons with things like 'look lady' and 'hey lady'. Rewriting my previous good review. Why? I walked in with my arm in a cast, asked if I could get a water instead of a soda with the combo. Guy practically yells no and rants about how a bottle of water costs more. I ask for a slice of cheese pizza. I hand him my card. This generates a new rant . "Sorry chief, it's all I've got." He comes back and points to my arm and says "you wanna get your other arm broke?", slams the card down, slams a pen down, and then slams the receipt down. Royally disappointed in this place. Took 1 hr and 20 minutes to arrive. I ordered a large pizza with peppers and pepperoni and an order of chicken tenders with honey mustard. I received a cold pizza with toppings only on 1/2 of the pizza and instead of honey mustard, I got bleu cheese dressing. Food was no where near worth that wait or the delivery charges. Same Old Place never lets me down. While the pizza is certainly greasy, and by no means gourmet, it is consistent and delicious. The thin crust is always baked to perfection, and topping ratios are always right. In my opinion, the only downfall is the limitation on sizes: they only have small and large. The large has eight large slices. I usually split a large with another person, and we have plenty of leftovers. For value and quality, I'd say that Same Old Place is the best (non-gourmet) pizza place in JP. read more

I called and asked whether I could order a pizza for delivery. They took my order and full address. 30 minutes later -- after they had already cooked the food and it was about to go out for delivery -- they called to say that they can't deliver to my address because the delivery guy doesn't know how to get there. My house is 3.8 miles from their restaurant -- a fact I got from Google maps, which they could easily have used to give the poor, confused, delivery guy. I asked whether they would deliver the pizza just this once, since we were now very hungry, and had waited for 30 minutes. They wouldn't. So rather than drive 3.8 miles, they threw out the pizza we ordered. At least they didn't charge us for it. But really, they said they'd deliver to our address when we ordered, and they should have followed through. read more

I used to love SOP, and they were my go-to pizza for delivery. But after Fred died, the pizza quality has become unreliable and the service has tanked. My last order: after calling to check on it an hour, then an hour and a half after placing it, I am told it was never made, and if I still wanted it, it would take another 45 minutes to get it. I canceled it. I was willing to excuse the extreme delay- it was New Year's Day- but the rudeness on the phone was beyond allowance. I won't be going back. read more

Same Old Place pizza is good. Same Old Place food is not. The sandwiches are salt-free and flavorless. The pizza has a chewy crust, sometimes too chewy, and lots of cheese. Their delivery takes a while, 'cuz they're so damn popular. Also, the pizza is a little pricey, but it's a mainstay of JP and people trust that. The pizza here is really good! I've only had the sweet, salty, spicy pizza (pineapple, bacon, jalapeños), but the times I've had it really hit the spot. Standard. I have ordered a few pizzas from here over the last few months, usually leaving me satisfied. There have been a few times when the toppings have been wrong, but overall I think their pizza is decent. It is convenient having them minutes from my front door, so I will continue to order from them if I plan on staying in the neighborhood. read more

Apparently Yelpers don't love the S.O.P....but they should! They're open late, they deliver late, and after you've been in - or even called - a few times, they remember you. I love places that do that. The menu is fairly standard, they have a selection of different burgers (named after states) and subs. But their pizza is where it's at. They'll put pretty much anything on it that you're looking for...and unlike most places, when you get extra cheese here, you better mean it. They don't mess around when it comes to the cheese. It's awesome. The only downside I've found is occasionally when you get delivery, the pizza has shifted and too much cheese will pull it right off the crust. I called up and they said they made a mistake and since if was after they closed all the drivers were sent home so I never got my food. The past few times indie get my food it was cold.
