Side house salad

Tried this restaurant for a friend's birthday and I really enjoyed it! The food was spectacular! I had the avocado and shrimp salad and the Ribeye roulette which were both very good - especially the salad! Highly recommend. My husband had the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and he really enjoyed it as well. We then shared a banana split dessert which was very good. The location is a little hidden but not too hard to find, it is very pretty inside. The service was ok, our waitress was nice but seemed a bit unfocused, not sure how to explain it but she was very nice. I really enjoyed this place!

Delicious Uzbek food. It is BYOB so feel free to bring some liquor, wine or beer. Everything we ordered was delicious. Cheese cheburek, French fries, baba ghanoush, crispy eggplant salad, meat samsa, lamb chops, and plov Samarkand. I wish I had room for dessert but I will just have to come back another time!

Delicious food, reasonable prices and nice staff. The fried lamb ribs were succulent and all of the side elements from rice to potatoes to buckwheat were tasty. Wish I had saved room for dessert but will save that for next time.

We had some delicious Uzbek bread. It was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. I also had some lamb/beef and chicken shish kabob with saffron rice - I like that the kabob come with onions but wish there was some more salad. The kabobs tasted really good. I also had Ayran on the side which I loved. Will definitely be back with more friends:)

I recently visited Samarkand Steak House, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff made me feel right at home. The plov was outstanding -- perfectly cooked rice, tender meat, and a rich, authentic flavor that reminded me of true Uzbek home cooking. The shish kebab was just as impressive -- juicy, smoky, and grilled to perfection. If you visit, I highly recommend trying not only the classic lamb shish kebab but also their chicken shish kebab, ribeye roulette, and sea bass shish kebab. Each one has its own character -- the chicken is tender and flavorful, the ribeye is rich and juicy, and the sea bass is light, perfectly seasoned, and melts in your mouth. The service was truly exceptional -- friendly, attentive, and professional. The staff made sure everything was perfect and went above and beyond to make the dining experience enjoyable. Overall, Samarkand Steak House is a real gem -- delicious food, generous portions, amazing service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Definitely one of the best restaurants in town!

Friendly staff, spacious and well decorated interior, tasty food! We got both samsas, lamb and beef shish kebab, and the plov samarkand. Everything was great. I will return again in the future!

Was in the area searching for something to eat when my sister and I finally decided to dine at Samarkand Steakhouse after reading reviews and checking out the online menu (thank you for all the pictures!). We walked in at ~3pm on a Saturday and were instantly seated as we were the only ones in the large restaurant. The restaurant is spacious and has a unique design with a digital fireplace, screens with colorful graphics, and bull heads on the wall. Seeing as that we've only had limited Uzbeki food in the past, we were thankful for our waiter that went through the entire menu with us, explaining the dishes and letting us know his favorites. We decided to order the Tandoori Samsa, Deep Fried Pelmeni, and the Ugro Oshi soup to start. The samsa was interesting as it was fluffy and crispy on the outside while being dense and hearty on the inside. It was a nice bite, but we agreed that the two of us could have shared just one. The deep fried pelmeni was by far the best dish we had. It was crispy, juicy, and addictive, especially dipped in the sour cream. The caramelized onions were unlike any I've had before, with an almost pickled taste, so delicious! The ugro oshi is a wedding soup with chickpeas, carrots, noodles, and meatballs; it was also very dill-forward. While I enjoyed the carrots, the meatballs were a bit dry and dense, and the dill was somewhat overpowering. Shortly after, we were served the Napoleon Kebab and Classic Style Lamb dishes. The Napoleon Kebab is ribeye skewered with lamb fat cap and had the beefy ribeye taste with the rich fatiness from the fat cap. The most disappointing dish for us was the classic style lamb. We did not really enjoy the brine and taste of the lamb and felt the fat was overwhelming, and the onions did not do enough to cut the gaminess. The service was a bit slow considering we were the only table there for most of our meal (took quite awhile before our server came out and eventually brought us water); however, the detailed explanations and friendly demeanor more than made up for it. Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 3/5 * Deep Fried Pelmeni: 5/5 (order these!) * Tandoori Samsa: 3.5/5 * Ugro Oshi: 2.5/5 * Napoleon Kebab: 3.5/5 * Classic Style Lamb: 1/5

Veal lever Kabob

It was totally worth the 20-mile off-road trip to get there. No regrets whatsoever! It is incredible Uzbek cuisine that I have to tell you about! It's hands-down the best I have ever had, and believe me, I've tried a lot. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere lively, and the restaurant was very clean. Every dish was top-notch. I started with a refreshing avocado salad, followed by mouthwatering veal liver kabobs, pilaf, and a delectable sour cream cake for dessert. To top it all off, we enjoyed some delicious green tea and traditional mineral water. Our server, Jamal, was fantastic and highly recommended.

Samarkand Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Samarkand Restaurant

Are all the meats halal or only certain dishes?

All meats are halal

Is it BYOB?

Yes

I called them today and asked them is it halal? They said Halal.

Yes, it is halal

What is the attire?

I've seen a range. Most people are quite casual with maybe a polo shirt. The wait staff and GM are very well attired, so you could also dress up a bit here and not feel out of place. There are occasional business folks here in suits.

Is it halal?

We don't use halal style meat but we use only local beef and lamb sources. We do not serve pork at all.

Things are still good here at Texas Roadhouse. Given the commotion of attempting a large party at…read moresuch a place on a Sunday evening, we came here today, as we always do, only for a special occasion. Waitlist via the app is recommended. We were ultimately waiting ~15-20 minutes from the time that we arrived on site since we had put ourselves on the wait list an hour prior. Staff is super friendly given all the incessant "is my table ready?" questions that they get from folks. Things are pretty packed here but we got a table, and were helped and served quickly, and checked on regularly. Our table got the usual: Cactus Blossom, ~6 baskets of bread over the course of the meal, and individual meals. We shared a 12 oz. ribeye w/ ribs combo. Today it was actually not as good as usual, a bit more medium rather than medium rare, and the ribs were dry on the outer half. However, still a completely filling and enjoyable meal all things considered. Pro-tip: put the last bits of your Cactus Blossom in a bun with both butter and sauce for a treat that is much more unhealthy and delicious than you bargained for. To boot, we asked the staff to put our celebrant on the saddle, even though we weren't celebrating his birthday, and they happily fulfilled our wish. Folks here love a good time, even though they are probably easily clocking 30K+ steps filling all their tables.

Steak, Rolls, and a Birthday Win!…read more We were heading from Philly back to NYC and wanted something out of the city, easy parking, and REAL food. Nothing beats a good steak and a roll. Add the fact that it was my boyfriend's birthday the following day and he loves a solid steak, Texas Roadhouse became the stop. They opened at 12:00. By 12:01, people were already seated. On a Sunday!!!! The locals knew what time it was, and that told me everything. We were greeted warmly, seated comfortably, and our waitress was an absolute gem attentive, kind, and on point from start to finish. Love love loved her! Even accommodated my birthday surprise for my boyfriend. But listen... Norm, the owner or manager (forgot the title but may be both ‍), deserves praise. That man was WORKING. Serving tables, slanging salads, running food, checking on guests. I have never seen an owner or manager that hands on in a franchise spot. Ever! Shout out to Norm because leadership like that shows. The staff were wearing "I love working here" shirts and you could see what a well oiled machine it was. They sang my boyfriend Happy Birthday without the saddle as requested by us, respected the vibe, and made it special. He demolished the buttery rolls and said the peanuts reminded him of home. You even get a birthday scoop! The ice cream was delish. Ribeye? Perfect. Salmon? Delicious. Beef tips with all the fixings? Hit. Loaded potato? LOADED. Great food, great energy, great service. This wasn't just a meal, it was a moment. If you're passing through and hungry, stop here.
