Crispy armor on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside -- not a rubbery tail in sight. And then there's Ciro. The man refuses to sit still. He's at the register, flipping fish, and bringing plates to your table -- all side-by-side with his crew like it's just another Tuesday. No high perch, no clipboard, nope. The boss sweats with the team, and you can taste that energy in every bite. Hidden gem? More like a delicious little secret hiding in plain sight off I-30.

Sounds good, right? What I got was shrimp drowned in melted butter with a tablespoon of rice tossed in, and two ends cut off a dinner roll. There was no seasoning. No lemon. No garlic. And definitely no toast. I used those little dinner roll ends to soak up some of the cup of butter it was swimming in but they made no difference. This was just lazy. I ate the overcooked shrimp because I could pull it out of its grease bath, but the rest could not be rescued from the oil spill. I would have tried if the clipped ends of the dinner roll had been toasted. The rice was a goner before I could attempt a save. A cup of melted butter is NOT a sauce, Ciro's! Do better. I certainly won't ever order this again.

We started with half a dozen raw oysters and they were fresh and delicious! We also ordered a dozen grilled oysters. They were okay, but nothing spectacular and probably not something we would order again. Hubby ordered the fish special that was on the board that day. I can't remember exactly which fish it was, but he said it was just okay. I ordered the snow crab with Cajun butter and unfortunately this was the biggest disappointment. The crab meat was extremely mushy and the texture was just not good at all. I tried several different legs from the cluster just to make sure it wasn't only one bad piece, but they were all the same, so I couldn't finish it. The corn that came with it also tasted old and had a strange sour taste, so I didn't eat that either. The Dragon Fruit Pineapple Mojito, however, was DELICIOUS! Definitely one of the highlights of the meal and I would absolutely order that again. One thing that was a little strange was the timing. Considering how slow it was when we were there, the food seemed to take a little longer than expected to come out, and my drinks took even longer. Overall, it was a mixed experience for us. The raw oysters and mojito were great, the grilled oysters and fish special were just okay, and unfortunately the snow crab entrée was a definite miss. I'm willing to give Anaya's another try and order something completely different if we happen to be in the area, but based on this visit, I wouldn't make a special trip back just to eat here.

She allowed us time to view the menu without being overbearing. I ordered the Calamari with a couple of mods. They have 3 Fries options and I asked if I could swap out my French Fries for the Sweet Potato Fries. Apparently, this is not something they normally allow, but the manager approved it. I also wanted my Calamari not as crunchy and lightly fried. The calamari came out thick-coated, hard-fried, and tasted of oil. I was told this is the best they could do without it appearing raw. The manager came over to discuss my request and outlined their cooking process. I then asked if it was possible to just use less batter? They obliged and re-prepared the calamari. It came out looking 10x better than before and I could actually taste the flavors. The manager came back to see how everything was. Janay, the manager did a phenomenal job at managing the situation. She never appeared annoyed or inconvenienced. She genuinely wanted to make sure that I had a good experience, and I did. The calamari was good and the sweet potato waffle fries were delicious.

The food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance was wonderful and perfect for a catch up with my friend: warm, inviting, and perfect service! The burrata salad was outstanding, and the pasta was equally impressive. We also shared the bread pudding for dessert, which was incredible and the perfect ending to the evening. The lobster dishes and wine selection were excellent as well. What really stood out, however, was the exceptional service: attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming without ever being intrusive. To top it all off, our entire dinner came to under $100, which felt like tremendous value for the quality of the food and experience. I only wish we had a location in Los Angeles. Highly recommended!
