The only downside for me is that when I take my Chihuahua for a walk, I can't go inside to grab a coffee due to the "NO DOGS ALLOWED" sign. Even though I could carry him in, as he's friendly and quiet, the sign makes it clear. I haven't asked about an exception since the rule is prominently displayed.
