Three times I had to explain my order. A Steak bomb toasted with mayo. No peppers in the mushrooms were raw. I wanted an Italian toasted, huts and onions on the side with oil. I got an Italian not toasted, with mayo and no hots and onions on the side. And all I got credited back out of all that.. the price of the mountain dew. The receipt on the bag says exactly the way I gave my order. The order in the bag was totally different. They don't care. Very relaxed and whoever is making the sandwiches sucks! So this Sub shop sucks! I'm sure they have a many many one-star reviews that just doesn't show up now does it? Never ever again if I'm starving. I worked in food service for 28 years, I would have credit them back at least the freaking sub that came with mayo on it and nothing else because I specifically despise mail that's why I asked for oil. New review for new owners!! (They have been there now for a year or so.) First of all, I have been meaning to write this review for several weeks, so my apologies that it is delayed!! This review is in regards to Devito's catering; TRY THEM!!! You will not be disappointed!! (Although we have had their steak and cheese subs since the new ownership and those are awesome as well). We have ordered from them twice now for two separate events. The first was our annual Halloween party. I decided this year that instead of prepping the food on my own, we would just get it catered. Friends of ours used these guys for their daughter's sweet sixteen and highly recommended them to us. As we were expecting about 80 people, we ordered a full tray of chicken parm over ziti, a half tray of penne alla vodka, two full trays of chicken fingers, a half tray of plain ziti in red sauce, and a full tray of chicken broccoli alfredo. The process from start to finish was easy! I spoke both with Melissa, the catering manager, and the owner. They were clear, kind, and just overall very nice to work with. Delivery came exactly when we requested it. The food itself was PERFECT!!! SO SO good and flavorful. Chicken tenders especially were a HUGE hit. They are not previously frozen and are hand-battered, so they come out incredibly tender, juicy, and delicious even just to eat plain without sauce! We did get a few sauces as well, but a lot of people ended up just grabbing them on the go all night. The pricing is very fair and reasonable. They really helped make planning and executing my event so much easier, and I am grateful they were able to accommodate us. The chicken tenders were such a hit with our friends that we ended up ordering a tray of them to take to a Christmas party this past month. Cannot recommend them enough!! we ordered a large cheese pizza and an extra side. Our pizza came out quickly and was obviously fresh. The service was mediocre. Even though the food came out quick. They forgot our extra side dish the person at the register was very understanding, and even thanked us for being understanding that our food didn't come out. while we were eating our pizza, we also asked for Parmesan cheese. after we finish eating our pizza, we had picked up the Parmesan cheese bottle and noticed there were some green specs at the bottom. upon further examination, we noticed that there was mold and the cheese had expired on June 1, 2023The following photos are photos of the mold at the bottom, and the Best Buy date. read more

Was in the mood for a pizza while I was in town for work. Wasn't impressed with the building but hey I wanted takeout anyway. Service is terrible on the phone, staff hates working there it seems, food takes a long time to deliver, often wrong, I don't recommend- lots of pizza places have the same menu. Go elsewhere. They try to say no fees on delivery but took longer than a funeral to get it. I'd rather pay a fee. read more

This place use to be great!! But something changed. I ordered a CHEESEBURGER sub and I got some type of chopped ground beef sub, so when I called they told me that is what I got. I guess they chop up their burgers till it's little bit pieces and instead of putting cheese on the patty they melt it onto the onions instead. Also fries are not as good as they were. Pleasantly surprised. I have been wanting to go here for a long time and it has been suggested to me more than once but the whole parking situation and the location has kept me away. I was missing out now I know. So tonight I decided to go I drove around the block so I could maybe get a parking spot out front it I was up a little not too bad but the food was worth it!!! I never have in a take out place tasted such good food and good ingredients and not just frozen pre cooked food that was thrown together this is good tasting like restaurant quality and excellent customer service!! I approve, i walked in off the street im not familiar at all with taunton work in the area and live a little bit aways, how ever i was super surprised by the freshness of their toasted ravioli ( anywhere i go im hesitant to buy because i dont want frozen ones) well these are not frozen they are very good and fresh the red sauce was good and my sub was a large for under 10$ very good sub had very nice chicken in it not fatty. I would very much like to try their pizzas and calzones & salads next and see what this house dressing is like. they were crazy busy when i was in there and so many pizzas flying out. I'm just going to be 100% honest right now. I hate giving a bad review if I dont have to but I am just beyond done. This place when it first opened up was my favorite place to order lunch. We order out at least 3 times a week from here. The food was always hot and fresh, service was great and reliable. So this is my issue. Working in the restaurant business myself as a server no matter how flustered, mad, annoyed I get I NEVER take it out on my guests. The Male staff who work here are always nice jo matter how busy it is. Now the female who works the front... not the elderly women but the other one is always so nasty and rude whenever I have dealt with her. Now is it coincidence that whenever the male staff or the older woman take my order they never get it wrong. But whenever she does and I make her repeat it back it still comes out wrong and with an attitude. Listen... maybe this isnt the job for you if you cant keep yourself in check. Its not like I did anything wrong and I get it taken out on me. I never take it out on her when my order is messed up. I keep it calm and patient and she blames you everytime... I was born with manners. Its yes not yup... if you guys messed up and all I do is call and ask to have it remade i shouldn't get yelled at and given an attitude. If I'm paying for something and I cant eat it then why did i pay for it. The first issue was i deeply expressed an onion allergy to her and what do you know my order came with onions.... then i was told it's my fault because i should have chosen something else?!?! What how does that make sense. Just make a steak and cheese without onions. My order was forgotten once and I waited 2 and a half hours and never got it but got charged for it... this was the last straw. I drove to get my food to avoid the long wait time for delivery. I ordered a chicken parmigiana not toasted because lately it's been coming out burnt. They always ask if I want the sub toasted or not even if it comes toasted. I said to her I didnt qant it toasted but she insisted that I didnt tell her. Now let's say for arguments sake it was toasted I can deal with it whatever it's not my preference but I will eat it. Now this came hard as a rock... not to mention when I picked up my food I was unsettled by the bags of bread sitting on top on a trash can in the kitchen even if the lid was on that is gross. I waited over an hour for a new sub to not have the extra mozzarella cheese I asked for but provolone.... like seriously.... get your act together. I'm not even calling back as now I have to go to work. She gets so many complaints about her and is the reason alot of people dont go back. Get some new help and work on food quality. I'm sorry but you lost so many loyal customers because nothing is done about this woman. read more

So I have lived in Taunton my entire life and I never Tried DeVito's until now and let me tell you I'm disappointed I waited so long! I went in for lunch and was greeted by very friendly staff and the steak and cheese I ordered came out quick and was honestly probably the best I have ever had! Was at a friends later that night and told him about it and he said we should get some food and I said hey lunch was great why not?! Got a couple pizzas, a calzone and fries and it was all delicious and I believe this is the only place I will be getting food from now on! Great job keep up the great work!!!! read more

We ordered dinner tonight and were told 1-1 1/2 wait for delivery. No problem, we expected that on a Friday. Over an hour and half wait we get a call from them telling us they don't have an item we ordered?!?! (Shouldn't it be at our home by now). So we change the item and wait longer because what else can you do at this point? Our order comes (with no discounted price may I add). And it's still wrong! We ordered a calzone and got a pizza. The best pie on the south shore, NO contest. I have 3 boys who fancy themselves pizza connoisseurs and they declare DeVito's their hands down favorite! Hand cut fries,...top quality meats and cheeses piled high on soft, fresh breads...kids' plates...amazing, handmade chicken fingers...their menu has no competition. And FREE delivery? Can't beat it. We've lived in one of the towns nearbyTaunton for almost a year now, and we've FINALLY found our go-to pizza joint with DeVito's. First of all, there's free delivery, no minimum! Tonight we ordered a large onion and mushroom pizza and a garden salad. The pizza was excellent. Just the right amount of all the ingredients and cooked to perfection. The salad was fresh and the dressing was tasty. We will be back soon, and often! I'm editing my review on 9/2015 to say that lately, delivery takes at least an hour, even during the week. Thankfully the food is worth the wait so I'm keeping my 5 star rating, but if you're ordering for delivery be prepared for the excessive wait time. read more

Pepperonis (now Piezoni's) has never done it for me, and Whittenton House has gone downhill, so for the "stay in, stay local" pie, we go for DeVitos. The slices are greasy, as a thin crust with dominating levels of cheese should be (given that it's been well cooked, rather than on the "warmed" side). Toppings are adequate, not overbearing. And the subs are downright inhuman in size- D'Angelos (humorously- the former occupants of their location) would cower in fear. Prices are reasonable- a single topping large is $11.75; Whittenton House wants $14 for an inferior product. read more

Soooo tasty and unique. i have ordered delivery twice from them and I am impressed. They don't have a delivery charge either, so the driver gets a good tip :) I ordered a large pizza with half mushroom and half pineapple, also, a buffalo chicken calzone. plenty of topping and the sauce went very well with the toppings. The buffalo chicken is not breaded chicken like most places and I was happy about that. ask for extra blue cheese dressing because it is enormous! The second time around I got one of their specialty pizzas and it was delicious and messy, the dough is sooo good and cooked perfectly. We also ordered 2 burgers, the chili and the one with onion rings. The chili one was so-so...I am a chili snob as I have made my own for years, The burgers were decent but not the best I have had. i expected that due to the fact that it's a pizzeria and not a burger shack. i definitely recommend their pizza and I may just have to try a salad next time. read more

There are quite a few pizza places around Taunton and DeVito's Pizzeria is one of the better places around. Before we ordered pizza from them we checked out the website and read the menu. As we were going through the speciality pizza section the combinations are very unusual and to be honest some sound as if they just shouldn't be put together, but to each is own. The Pizzeria does have delivery and there is no delivery charge (free delivery), excluding your tip to the delivery person. We look forward to ordering from them again and trying out more things. Yesterday we ordered a Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Scampi pizza with added sliced Tomato and a Buffalo Chicken Sub. The Scampi pizza could have used some more garlic but was still tasty. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza was very good with big chunks of chicken, we did end up adding some extra hot sauce. The sub was good, I do think it could have also used more hot sauce but we enjoy our food spicy. I did ask for a side of blue cheese and I think I got ranch. I ended up not using it. When we had ordered we had thought we were getting the thin NY style crust however, the crust was thicker than we had hoped, but still good. The crust wasn't soggy, it was crisp. There are many places around here that when we order we end up re-heating it to get the crust more like crust. read more

DeVito's Pizzeria is located right in downtown Taunton MA. The menu is a typical menu you would look at as if you entered any pizza shop, calzones, salads, wraps, pizzas, & pasta dishes. Whenever I order from the restaurant, its usually Buffalo Pizza or Vegetable Pizza. I'm starting to become a fan of this place. It's quick & convenient. Ordered food earlier that week for a 24 person rehearsal Friday night. Food never showed. We called they sounded confused and said it was on the way. Called back 20 minutes later they said we had not paid which we gave cc info, 3 days prior. 30 mins later still no DeVitos called back asked to cancel. Our guests had waited over an hour and we felt like that was long enough. Just as the food showed up the owner got on the phone and we heard him say he was not eating the cost. I said I no longer want the food, he said to take the food and shove it up my A**. The next business day we had $197 taken out of our account which he originally quoted us $163.
