The Salvatore Ferragamo store at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa is much larger that the store here in San Diego at Fashion Valley Mall in Mission Valley. There is more stock to look at and more to make your selection. I especially like the men's slip on shoes at Salvatore Ferragamo. They are very comfortable and have the horse bit decoration on top in a signature style of the house. Often, the shoes are on a platform that makes them fun to wear as well. The service at the South Coast Plaza facility was very kind and helpful in every way. After selecting the pair of shoes, the representative showed me a selection of wallets, one of which I also bought. And for your new shoes, don't forget to pick up one of the Salvatore Ferragamo shoe trees to keep your shoes in good condition. If I was able to put 0 stars I would. I went to drop off a pair of loafers that I purchased in Europe with amazing customer service. I wore these shoes for a couple of months and the insoles and heel unfortunately did not hold up well. I came to this Ferragamo located in South coast plaza in order for them to replace them. I was told it would take 4-6 weeks which is completely fine. They also charge you $50.00 in order to fix your shoes you spent over $1000 on. After I dropped them off I received a package from Ferragamo of the completely wrong shoes. I called and told them that I received the wrong shoes and that I would obviously like my shoes. They told me in order to receive my shoes I need to send the shoes I received back to them until they release MY SHOES! I told them I am more than happy for me to go into the store with the shoes they gave me in order for me to receive my shoes. They still did not let this happen and made me drop off the wrong shoes first in store and waste my time until I can receive my shoes. After a couple of days they called me and finally told me that I can come pick up my shoes. When I went to pick up my shoes, the heel is still not repaired and the employees did not have any answers. I was not even offered my $50.00 back for all of this trouble. Absolutely disgusted in the customer service I received. read more

The customer service, and client experience at this location is not luxury. I went in today for a return and it was rejected because I was three days over the 14 day return policy. Keep in mind I live 2 1/2 hours away from the store so it's not easy for me to just swing by anytime. I can understand if I was 10 days or 15 days over... but 3? Ruined my Christmas gift to my boyfriend. I purchased a gift for Christmas. The sales person asked for a number associated for my purchases. I provided my number and my boyfriends number. He had my boyfriends number but expressly told him that I did not want to have his account associated with my purchase as it's a Christmas gift. Most of the employees here are friendly, and not overbearing. They let you browse without breathing down your throat, but casually direct you to items they think you might like. Also, they direct you to alot of 'on sale' items, which is nice, because stores like Louis Vuitton never have sale items! Once I purchased 2 purses and 2 wallets here and FORGOT one of the wallets when I went home. I called the next day and they shipped it to me free within a day. They also let you keep the items you purchased there until you are ready to head home. That is also nice because who wants to carry too much stuff around?!?! Walked right in with no wait and Ann helped me to pick out my shoes. This would be my first pair of Ferragamo so I wasn't really sure what I wanted. She was very patient with me allowing me to survey their collection. Once I had an idea, she answered all of my questions and even explained to me more about the brand. I can really tell she knows her stuff on the brand. After figuring out my preference and my shoe size, I bought my first pair and couldn't be anymore satisfied with the whole process. I initially went to the ferragamo section at Bloomingdale and they totally disregarded my presence and was of no help to me at all so when I found the actual Ferragamo store right after, it was only destiny. The shoe does run smaller than your Adidas or Nike though, so I would recommend to come in to try it if you can. Bit my experience here was so good! This retail location has terrible customer service. I bought a pair of brand new shoes that were delivered to my house through the help of this location and staff. A few days later, I take the same product to return to this location that were brand new and unworn but they won't accept my return claiming they were worn when in fact they were brand new. I asked if she had anything with the style of leather and belt buckle I was looking for, because I didn't really like the ones I saw on display. I received a Ferragamo belt for Christmas, and I was excited to exchange it for a larger size today at the South Coast Plaza location. What should have been a quick and easy exchange turned into a hour-long customer service nightmare. The particular belt I wanted to exchange was out of stock, and I was asked to choose another belt. I found something suitable, but I was told I would have to pay the difference. It struck me as odd, because I had an idea what the gifter paid, and it was more than the $266.00 the associate stated. Please keep in mind, I had all of the documentation, so she should have been able to look up an order number, or at the very least call. The associate, Tam, and the manger, John, required me to contact the gifter and obtain the receipt which was obviously uncomfortable for me. Despite a receipt now showing the value of $409.45, I was told that Ferragamo online has no relation to the brick and mortar stores and they would only honor the sale price of $266.00, I was told in order to receive the full refund, I would have to return the item online, so a credit would be returned to the gifter, and then I could purchase a new one in store with my credit card and request payment from the gifter. A second inconvenience and awkward problem for me, the consumer. Upon further evaluation, I was told by Tam and John that Ferragamo online may not honor the return, because it was 30 days since purchase. Upon closer examination of the terms and conditions, I noticed (not them) that it was 30 days from DELIVERY. The staff then required me to search the UPS tracking like a beggar in front of other customers to prove exactly when it was dropped on my doorstep. Sure enough, it was exactly 29 days prior. HOWEVER, then I was told the standard ground shipping return label wouldn't get it back to the depot in time, and that was the measure used. Therefore, it was unlikely Ferragamo would honor the online refund. Finally, the manager agreed to ship it on my behalf overnight. HOWEVER, he further warned that inclement weather could delay the shipment, and yet again I may not be eligible for the refund. Finally, I was told that the return and subsequent refund could take a week. Moreover, the store has a strict 7-day policy for refunds. As such, if the refund was not issued for the original belt, I would also be stuck with the replacement belt and no accommodations could be made. I am a business owner, and I know, it's not fair to base a decisions about a brand / company based on interactions with one employee or store. I can't imagine the portrayal of the the online and retail Ferragamo stores as competitors is accurate, as it certainly erodes the experience and subsequent brand equity. read more

There are very few HELPFUL employees at that store. This store is located at South Coast Plaza, where shopping at luxury stores should be easy! I called before arriving to the store to do a stock check and the person said they no longer had it, but once I arrived, it was there sitting in the case! It had a scratch on it, so I requested that another one be sent from another store, but the person behind the case said that she could NOT do a stock check!?!?!? I had to do it myself!!! I left and I came back to find another person who was there, willing to do the stock check, but questioned if I really wanted it! LAZY ASS! I bought a pair of shoes here a few months ago and have only worn them a few times (less than 10 times). They are a lighter brown shoe and have a very bad wrinkle in the toe to the extent it appears as a factory defect. The store policy per their general manager Rocelyn, is that once the shoe is worn you cannot return for a store credit or refund (I was just hoping for a store credit to replace this defunct pair with a new pair from this store). I have several pairs of their shoes and have never had this issue before. I would STRONGLY recommend buying Ferragamo shoes from Nordstrom or move to another brand that will stand behind their product. I won't be back. read more

Brought a purse in for repair that was purchased two months ago. Was asked if my wife dragged it around. The pin that holds the strap failed. Then made to wait almost an hour until I was informed that they had researched the purchase and verified I actually purchased it from them. I had my credit card receipt but they must have thought differently. Not once during this time did any associate try to sell me something. Odd because it's Christmas and most people are looking for gifts. I finished with the repair slip and was told 4-6 weeks to get the purse back as it was a minor repair. I asked for the manager and a lady approached and said she was the manager- no introduction never gave me her name. I gave her my feedback and she didn't have a response other than sorry. Didn't offer to get me salesperson or ask if I was looking for a gift etc.. In summary, I would highly recommend you buy your next Ferragamo product from Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus or any major retailer that knows the meaning of customer service. A thin, middle-aged blonde woman who was incredibly nice and friendly assisted me in looking for what I wanted. I ended up buying a black leather loafer which ran pretty true to my typical shoe size. Also, this store has a pretty strong selection of men's shoes and other accessories. Their shoes are one of the most comfortable ones on the market, as they have a long history of crafting quality shoes. The lady was even helpful when my mom wanted to try on different pairs of heels. She went the extra mile by bringing out various sizes depending on how each particular style generally fits, and offered to ship to our home anything we couldn't find in the store.
