I had a particularly disappointing experience while ordering takeout on Christmas. The service was disorganized and inconsistent throughout my visit. Initially, I called to place a to-go order, but after being put on hold for nearly seven minutes without a response, I hung up and called again. This time, I was able to place my order, which they assured me would be ready in 20-25 minutes. However, I arrived 45 minutes later only to find that my order was not prepared. Upon entering, I informed the staff about my to-go order, and they directed me to the area near the bar. Unfortunately, there were several customers milling about, and I received no assistance. After some time, I approached a server at the kiosk and mentioned my order. He told me to wait while he informed someone to check on me, but no one ever came. Eventually, I had to stop another passing server to inquire about payment for my order. He went to check in the back, and after a long wait, my food was finally brought out--but it was incomplete. Not only was my soup missing, but my queso brisket was also absent of brisket despite being charged for it. When I inquired, I was told they were out of brisket, and they offered a complimentary soda. However, I wouldn't have ordered the queso had I known the brisket was unavailable, which felt like a misrepresentation of the menu. Additionally, I requested bread but was informed that it was not ready, and I did not receive an itemized receipt. It is absolutely gorgeous. The bar as well is all beautifully finished wood. Behind the bar it is wonderfully full of all the hard liquor one might want. My supper arrived and as I ate I was in heaven the steak each bite was so delicious, the sweet potato was beautifully done and each bite was wonderful, the entire meal was so good that when Larissa asked me for dessert I was so tempted to say "set it up again." About 6:30pm delivery driver text and asked about my order as it was not there. My husband and I had dinner the day after Valentine's Day. Our server was Mikenna and let me tell you how AMAZING, GREAT, FABULOUS, OUTSTANDING she was!! The restaurant had a 20 min wait when we arrived so I knew it was a little busy. Ms. Mikenna greated us and took our drink order and brought out bread soon after that. From one server to another, I could tell she was in the weeds. She was extremely busy with our table and a few others (not sure how many) but she did not miss a single beat even with us ordering several of the charred pineapple margaritas! She was on top of everything with all her tables and never stopped smiling and checking in on us. Mikenna is definitely one of the best servers I have ever had in my history of dinning out. We had a reservation on Valentines Day, and the restaurant was really busy however the service was outstanding. This restaurant runs like a well oiled machine. The Manager greeted us, welcomed us and let us know if there was anything we needed, to let him know. Our waiter Josue was great, very attentive and friendly. Our meals were served in a timely manner and the food was delicious. He checked back frequently to see if we needed our drinks refreshed or more breadand removed used plates and flatware. A pet peeve is a table cluttered with dirty dishes which is not very appealing. We had the Queso Brisket appetizer which was excellent, lots of flavor and the chips were not greasy! Yea We both had New York Strip steaks which were cooked to perfection, kudos to the Chef! The green beans were also very good. What restaurant or server does that? Well, instant Kudos. The food was AMAZING! BUT THE BEST PART was when I got the bill. The dreaded bill. For me, being visually impaired, it's difficult to read the ticket. It's extremely embarrassing not being able to read the numbers. This server, literally took extra time to assist me, darken the lines on receipt and then helped read the total. This is the first time I have ever been able to keep my dignity. I started to cry. So yes, I cried at Saltgrass but only because this is the best place to be. Christian is top tier. And everyone is wonderful. read more

While I would not normally not give 1 star to a restaurant, it was the complete lack of care from multiple managers over an issue that led to this. I placed an online order for a 10 oz sirloin with a potato and salad for the side with a chips/queso for an appetizer. The time projected was 30 minutes, and I arrived and went inside after 15 minutes. After I gave the bar staff my name for a pickup, they directed me to a lady on the phone who walked off and did not come back. I stood for another 10 minutes until a wait staff asked if I had still not been helped and went to check on my order. He provided it would be about 9 more minutes. 20 minutes later, the women who had been on the phone finally came back and asked for my name. 5 minets later, a man who I assume was the kitchen manager based off dress attire, informed me my order had been stolen and it would be another 25-30 minutes to remake as they were busy. It looked like he notified the general manager as well, but that was about it. No attempt to even say we will rush it or any other expedited attempt. The general manager, all the while, walked by me standing in the same spot for just shy of an hour without an inquiry and then knowing my order of a single steak was near 1.5 hours. To top it off, they forgot the salad, so I had to turn around after leaving. As someone who managed a restaurant in the past, I completely understand that mistakes occur. I am not someone who expects or demands compensation when issues occur but to not even be offered something minor nor have several members of management act like it was not even an issue is the problem. The wait staff kept appologizing as they could easily tell I had numerous problems occurring, and yet management could care less. read more
