This tiny park is located a hop, skip and short-drive down from Pawtuxet Village. Small parking lot was reasonably full for a sunny Sunday afternoon- so we did not feel too sketchy leaving our car to explore the trails... I mean, trail.
There is a small playgroup up the hill- right by the road. If you're okay with mud (and watch the tides), you can walk along the beach, or across a causeway-like-structure (be cautious, some of those rocks are slippery, and again - tides may cause you to swim back) to the breakwater. Their were a few couples taking in the view over to EP and over the Providence River. There were also a few fisher-people casting off - cool to watch. Not so much to smell... Not them! The bits of bait, cleaned fish, etc left about. There was also a ton of trash other visitors had left out scattered between and over the rocks - broken glass, DD non-degradable mochachino-or-whatever-cups, crumpled beer cans, plastic bottles... Didn't add to the aesthetics and it made me a little bit sad and angry.
The coolest thing? All the swans. Tons of swans dotted either side of the breakwater and into Edgewood. It was a lovely site.
Happy to visit, not sure I need to come back. If I do come back it will be with gloves and a trash bag to try to put a dent into the disguising carnage left by others. Note to future visitors: if you carry it in - please carry it out! The swans and I thank you. read more
