Nice park in town with great views and some signage about park/town historical information. There is a large Roger Williams statue, but it's facing out over the cliff so it's better seen through town (I assume) but it's not possible to see it in the back except from the pack. Still in nice weather, there are a few benches to see all across town or enjoy some nature.

Lovely city park on College Hill. We took a drive up the hill after visiting the Roger Williams Memorial National Park on North Main Street. Whether walking, or driving, take note: these streets are quite steep and narrow. Be prepared for a workout if walking. If driving, remember, even the narrowest of roads may be two way traffic. Most folks park on Congdon Street to access the park. There is an information board in the park if you are interested in some history. There are plenty of benches, and it's relatively quiet in this area of the city. There is a nice lawn and several trees along the paved path. The park is quite clean. The statue and burial site of Roger Williams is the center of attention here. The statue faces west, looking over the city. To get a view of the statue's front, you will need to walk or drive down to Pratt Street. There does not seem to be access directly from the upper terrace on Congdon to the lower terrace on Pratt. The lower terrace has no paved pathways, benches or trees. Many trees have grown over the years, impeding some of the the city views, but looking south-west you can still see parts of downtown, and looking west you can make out the Capital building, softly framed by leaves. Worth a visit for a quiet repose, a bit of history and city views.

We came to Prospect Terrace with hopes of seeing some stunning views of Providence, but it was not to be - the view was masked by trees, construction equipment, and various other obstacles. Tip: Given how small this park is, I suggest that you drive to the entrance, rather than walking; this is because the approach is all uphill, and you probably won't be spending a lot of time here. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, this isn't a bad place to visit, but there's nothing here that makes it worth going out of your way for.

A small but historically significant park in Providence with lots of historical markers. It won't take long to look at but you'll find lots of interesting things to read about and there's a nice view of downtown Providence. Prospect Terrace is the final resting place of Roger Williams. He was the founder of Rhode Island. There's a really big statue. It has lots of history that happened around here. Read about it on the displays throughout the park. This was the site of a fort at one time. It's close to the Brown University Campus. This is in the College Hill neighborhood. Often there's some laying on the grass reading or chatting about philosophy or something else they find interesting. The highlight is the big statue of Roger Williams. He's also buried here. The exact whereabouts aren't as known. Check it out if you're in the area. It's only a few minutes from downtown. There's plenty of parking spaces.

Best views in providence! Love walking down to prospect Terrance with a blanket and friends to relax, eat dinner and watch the sunset. It's beautiful right now with the cherry blossoms out but is truly stunning year round!

This lovely park was part of a self-guided walking tour of College Hill I attempted that I found on www.hplovecraft.com and I highly recommend it! It isn't just for fans of HPL either - there's lots of other historical points of interest on it as well (even the House/office of an apprentice of Ben Franklins)! I loved it! Prospect Terrace is a peaceful, green haven with panoramic hilltop views of all of Providence! It was fantastic! There's tons of benches, a lovely memorial statue to the founder of Providence and some informative plaques scattered around the grounds. One of the plaques even points out what buildings you'll see in the skyline! And you get a magnificent view of the capital building! It's in a residential area near Brown University which is lovely in and of itself. Highly recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed the elevated view offered by this small park that overlooks the city. The view of the state house in particular was impressive. Well worth the time and effort involved in making the short walk from my downtown hotel.

Probably the best scenic overlook places in Providence with a great view of the state house and downtown! Highly recommended if checking out the city for the day!

What a gorgeous park to sit, relax and watch the sunset!! It was breathtaking! So many people wandering around taking photos of the picturesque background/city skyline! It was dusk when we arrived, (we were meeting up for a ghost tour) and the mosquitoes were out in full force, luckily the group we were with had insect repellent, so keep that in mind! We will definitely be back to enjoy the scenery!!

Prospect Park was the meeting place for our Yelp event this day. It is a nice place to go enjoy the beautiful weather, view a sunset, or take in the Providence skyline. I certainly would have never stumbled across this hidden gem if it weren't for Yelp! In the center is a statue of Roger Williams overlooking his beloved city. Little do most people realize but his remains are also present here as well!

Beginning of a ghost tour that starts at the park.

Easy parking. Gorgeous view. Historic memorials, lanterns. Not very big--fitting for Providence. Definitely worth the stop on your tour of Providence. As locals, we get to stop by any old time.

Super cute park! This was the meeting place for a yelp event (walking ghost tour), plenty of street parking available, lots of benches and more than enough instagrammable opportunities! The sunset

A beautiful park with a beautiful view. It offers sweeping views of the capital landscape from the top of a very high hill. In place in the park is a statue of Roger Williams, the founder of Rhode Island. You should read about him, he is pretty interesting. The park has a few benches and tons of shade. I would recommend bringing a blanket for to lay on the ground for a picnic and enjoy the atmosphere. Parking is weird with the hours stated, but just be mindful of when in the area and for how long you plan to stay.

Not only do you get the quietness of a forest but also a great view of the Seekonk River. Very little road traffic , and if you like kayaking, there is a launching place into the river near here. There is also the start of the Blackstone walking path which is on Blackstone Blvd. All these places are dog friendly!
