Lovely spot off the beaten path in Warwick. There's a great view of the Conimicut Point Lighthouse and at low tide, the sandbar is a very nice walk. Definitely use caution when the tide is coming in however, as the currents here are extremely strong and tragedies have occurred. There are also benches overlooking the water, picnic tables, a playground and bathrooms. Nice place to walk, enjoy a picnic, or just relax by the water. read more

Conimicut is one of my favorite places to go to hunt for sea glass! This park is located about 10 minutes from Rocky Point, which is also a great place to go to look for sea glass and sea pottery. This park has made major improvements over the last few years to help keep it clean and safe. The sandbar tends to get dangerous when tides are high, so they added signage for people to be more aware of the dangers of walking out to the tip. 10/10 would recommend for picnics and gathering sea glass! read more

The main draw here is the scenery. Conimicut Point Park can be used for launching canoes and kayaks. There are sandy beaches and a picnic area. Of course, there is also the Conimicut Point Lighthouse, just off shore. The playground is in good condition with benches for the adults. There are also picnic tables and a number of benches for contemplating Narragansett Bay. Breezy and chilly on this late May morning, I spotted the Coast Guard on patrol. Very cool. I did not realize this is a town park, not state. You should know: unless you are a resident of Warwick, there is a fee to park your car. Two young ladies sat under an small structure in the shade enjoying the day. When we pulled up, one friendly employee asked if we were planning to park our car (well. . ., yes) and then if we are Warwick residents (actually. . .no) and then let us know it costs ten dollars to park here. With another park just down the road, we chose not to visit. Does this mean if I walk in it's free? We read reviews on this park and came to explore the possibility of adding it to our rotation of places to walk. I missed the part about RI residents having to pay for parking, so here I am, letting all my fellow RI's and out-of-state visitors know this important bit of information. The parking lot itself is older but all in all, the parking area is in OK shape and a relatively good size. The areas we could see from the lot is open to the sky, (aka: no shade) so wear that sunscreen and bring your hat! If you plan to spend a day here it's probably well worth the $10 to picnic and cool off during the summer heat. Especially as they reportedly have a bath house and a long sandy beach. RI State beaches charge state residents six dollars to park and although the beaches here are not the soft sand the state trucks in, they are much closer to home without the beach traffic. I'm glad I went as it lead me to explore more about the park. I did not realize this is literally a beach. (Duh) I was thinking it was more of a seaside 'park' where you would go for a walk. From what I have now found out, that was a very wrong impression. So all in all, a good visit. read more

A beach with a lighthouse A pleasant little park with some pretty nice views. Swimming is allowed, but the beach sometimes is closed because of nasties coming down from Providence. Plenty of parking and a nice launch place for a kayak or small craft. The park is not very large, so it is not really suitable for hiking but a short walk along the beach is always nice. Great views of Conimicut lighthouse, built in 1883 are obvious and you can actually walk out to the light about one half mile off shore in low tide. However unpredictable currents and rips can make this unwise unless you happen to enjoy drowning. Nyatt lighthouse is also visible across the bay and views of Mt Hope bridge can be seen to the south and Providence to the north. read more

Beautiful is all I've got to say! Also I don't want to spill the beans on this amazing place! Like others have said, it's a great place and a short drive to escape from the city to sit and relax. It's not the best place to take a swim or do other things and does require some cleaning to be done to make it even better! Conimicut Point is a breezy bay side beach and park area with some grass and benches. It's not a swimming beach, its more of a fishing area. In fact, the fishermen park right on the beach and pretty much dominate, so forget about swimming. If you find yourself in this area and just want to explore the shoreline and enjoy the landscape, it's A-Ok. Along the Providence River side you can walk along the beach and check out the waterfront homes in the neighborhood. Or park your truck on the beach and drink a beer and watch the "fishing action." The other reviewers are correct about the cleanliness of the property. It would be nice if the denizens would take their empty beer cans and other debris with them when they leave, but they don't. Check it out the first sunny weekend after the annual clean up. For me, there's no way this park could ever be more than average, since there are so many other park and beach options in Rhode Island. I can get to Blue Beach in North Kingstown on 403 faster than I can get across Warwick to Conimicut, and its a clean beach with a nice view and no trashy element. Oakland Beach, enjoy seafood and cocktails and socialize with the tourists. Sandy Point, a clean quiet neighborhood beach on a peninsula, which is just down the road from Goddard Park and its beach, trails, fishing, ball fields, and golf course. If you're in the eastern reaches of Olde Warwick, Conimicut Point Park is not bad. read more

I was very excited to check out this beach because of its proximity to Providence, but even on the hottest day of the summer, I didn't chance going swimming here. The beach was covered with dried and smelly kelp, there was no current in the water, and half of the beach was deemed unswimmable because of pollutants - you think I'm going to swim in the water 5 feet from that sign? I don't think so. Outside of the beach area, there is some green space to throw a ball around or relax, but when I was there the grass was all yellowed and brittle. Additionally the bathrooms were gross. Overall. Brian's pics look beautiful and I wish that is what I saw when I was there.... but I couldn't get past the smell and feel of the place. Oh, there was a lifeguard on duty, so that's a plus. read more

Pros: nice vista of downtown PVD, good down bay view, close enough so you don't have to trek down the state for an oceanfront spot, great for an evening by the water to have a picnic. Cons: the surrounding area is a bit dumpy, the park itself isn't in the greatest of conditions, the sand is rocky, water is rather polluted (health signs everywhere!) and not accessible restroom on off times. We were able to grab a nice little spot in the evening to enjoy some food and bottle of vino in peace and quiet. Not much in the way of foot traffic. This is NOT a place to go sunbathing or swimming, but a quick jaunt from the city for this type of evening. read more

I love Conimicut for one reason - strolling on the "beach", looking for sea glass. Swimming - no, not even if it was allowed that day. Beach has a great deal of kelp, dead sea life, glass (not the good kind yet!) and other flotsam. It can smell pretty bad down by the water. I do see a fair number of people fishing and clamming/oysters? Not my thing, so I can't tell you if it's worth it or not. There are pretty views of the lighthouse and across the bay, but this is a small park and not worth a special trip just for that. read more

Okay, this isn't that great a park but it is nice and when we come out to Warwick we find our way here and stop and find a bench and enjoy the views, the sun, the breeze (there usually is a steady one) and the boats on the water navigating the bay. On weekdays, it isn't very crowded and there's plenty of parking. Haven't been out here on the weekend. There are some basics, including a playground and a restroom but not much else, that I recall. There's a lunch crowd that comes in and sits at the picnic tables and watches the water. (If I worked closer to here, I'd be one of them.) The place could definitely use some policing and cleanup. But, for a little gem of shore in the middle of city sprawl, it's not bad. read more

This would be such a nice little area and we we're excited to have stumbled upon it, there is a playground for the kids and beautiful aerial views of the water, however it seems it is ruined by scums that don't respect anything, we saw at least 10 used condoms in the parking lot, tons of garbage and even a needle. I can't let my kids play there now having seen this. The beach is quaint and cute but also had garbage (literally bags of garbage) pallets, tons of broken glass bottles, etc. such a shame. read more

This is a location that has been neglected and vandalized. Six or seven years ago, my then BF (now Husband) and I enjoyed the view of the lighthouse as children flew their kites. A lovely day. Unfortunately, a recent trip there with my toddler was ghastly. The playground has graffiti on it, there's trash and glass everywhere, particularly the exorbitant amount of cigarette butts littered on the beach area. Lastly, a warning to parents: there are a lot of bees looming around the playground area. read more

Ummmm this place has signs up saying "polluted". It already looks filthy to begin with. I don't think this is a place i'd really wanna go to in the summer. Do people swim here?? I don't know.... I visited it in February to see the lighthouses. You can see Conimicut Lighthouse right in front of you in the water, you can walk out on the sandbar to get closer. Nayatt Point Lighthouse is right across from that on the other side of the bay. read more

This beach could use a few good community clean up days. Unfortunately the way the tides pull the current down on this point makes it gather trash pretty quickly. Besides that this area doesn't offer much besides an ok view. read more
