The bun was incredibly fresh, light, and pillowy, while the pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender with the perfect balance of richness and tang from the kimchi. The pickled vegetables added a bright crunch that tasted incredibly fresh. We started with the salmon tartare, and it was phenomenal! Rich, buttery, bursting with flavor, and so good we were literally fighting over the last bite. And the scallop? Order one for each person. Seriously. It's far too delicious to share. It had just the right amount of heat, leaving the perfect lingering warmth that immediately made us want another. Do yourself a favor and give yourself enough time to work your way through the menu, because every dish we tried was outstanding. Each plate was thoughtfully curated, beautifully executed, and cooked to perfection. I like to call it the C³ trifecta: curated, created, and cooked. Without question, this is some of the best food we've had in a very long time. We can't wait to come back (when visiting) and continue eating our way through the rest of the menu.

Ambiance was great - super warm and welcoming which was magnified by the host. Super lovely. Then the wait staff. Whoever is hiring/training is doing a great job! Not drinking right now but the cocktail menu was super tempting. Every menu item sounded great. We got some help on ordering from our servers and Tanya picked ones she had enjoyed before. We also sat right beside the pick up window so it was fun seeing food come out! The food was fantastic. See pictures for what we ordered. Not sure if I can remember the names of everything but it was a perfect combo!!

TLDR: Me and my partner got food poisoning from the chicken sandwich and had to call multiple times…read moreover the course of two weeks to get a partial refund from the owner. Me and a group of friends (8 total) were visiting the Olympic peninsula for a camping/backpacking weekend and stopped by Midtown on a busy Friday night and were quickly seated. The food tasted good and we had great service during our visit. Since we were a large group, and already had shared expenses for the weekend, when asked about the check we offered to put everything on one tab to save time. Later on that night however, after we had set up our tents at our campground, my partner began to experience intense stomach pains which turned into full blown food poisoning. I spent the next several hours helping them, before I also got sick. It was at this point we realized that it was from the chicken sandwich my partner had ordered at Midtown, since I had eaten her last remaining bites of the sandwich and this was the only food we shared that other members of our group had not also eaten (we all shared food at lunch earlier in the day). My partner and I essentially spent the night in the campground bathroom (we are extremely lucky they had one). The next morning we were feeling depleted, dehydrated, and decided to head home to recover while the rest of the group continued on the trip. We spent the rest of the weekend trying to get food down. I called Midtown the next business day and let them know what happened for their awareness mostly. They thanked me and told me their policy is a full refund if something like this happens and that the group should expect it soon. We didn't hear from them or get notification of a refund so we reached out a week later and they said they forgot and now the owner would only provide a refund for me and my partner's meals and that they never offered a full refund. They said since we had "12 people" on the ticket they wouldn't do it (our tab for 8 people was $186 before tax and tip) but if we had a doctor's note that could change things. I promised them we weren't making it all up and that I've never gotten food poisoning from a restaurant or even left a bad review before! Tired of the gas lighting I decided it wasn't worth arguing and let them know this will have to be my first. It's a shame their management is unprofessional because our experience in the restaurant with the food and staff was nice.

The spring rolls had good flavor, definitely more homey than the commercial kind, good crisp. The banh mi was bursting with chicken and pickled veggies, lots of the gooood sauce, the bread was soft and so much more my speed...fries were so, so, good. The tofu bowl was not good. Service was friendly.

You order at the register and the food didn't take long to be ready. You grab your own utensils and stuff. There is only counter stool seating inside. There are some bench seating on the patio. So, I took a day off and headed to our capital city, Victoria, on a hot and sunny afternoon. After getting off the bus at Douglas & Fort and walking a couple of blocks, I arrived at the restaurant. In all honesty, the location isn't in the nicest part of town. The place itself is small, both inside and out. Inside, they were in the middle of a paint job. Outside, the dining area consisted of three picnic tables, each seating about four or so. I hadn't checked their website beforehand, but I told the cashier it was my first visit from Vancouver. She suggested three of their "most popular" dishes, all priced at $18. I chose the Sweet & Sour Pork Belly with Rice. Most entrées seemed to start at $15 and up. I opted to dine outside, given the beautiful weather. The cashier directed me to a self-serve counter for water, condiments, and cutlery, and suggested I sit at the far left by the wooden railing since other tables were occupied. When my food was ready, she called my name. The presentation was nice, but for $18 the portion seemed small -- six small pieces of pork belly, with two pieces being almost entirely fat. The green beans (about 14 pieces, four inches long) were fresh and bright green, not overcooked, and the sauce was fine. Unfortunately, the biggest letdown was the temperature -- lukewarm at best. Even the rice wasn't hot. The menu promised crispy skin, but mine was soft. While the pork was tender, it lacked the crispness you'd find at a good Chinese BBQ meat shop. Adding to the disappointment, the outdoor seating was right beside a parking lot of a liquor store where people smoked and chatted. The smell of cigarette smoke made it hard to enjoy my meal, so I ate quickly and left. It's a semi-self-serve setup, with a tray for returning dirty dishes like in fast-food places. Another note: I paid cash but wasn't given a receipt -- my oversight, since cash payments save them merchant fees. This place might have its fame, but for me, it was overpriced and the atmosphere was not conducive to a relaxing meal. Hot dishes should be served hot, regardless of the weather. Taste-wise, I'd give my dish 3/5. Value: 2/5. Sadly, it's a "one-and-done" visit for me.
