Dropped into Salt on a random off-season day and was pleasantly surprised! It's located inside the gorgeous Hotel LBI, and the décor alone is worth stopping in for... coastal chic with a touch of elegance, from the grand chandelier in the lobby to the cozy yet upscale Living Room lounge area. We started with oysters..fresh, briny, and perfectly chilled and the tuna tartare stacked over creamy avocado with crisp taro chips, which was a standout. My lobster pasta was rich and flavorful, though the noodles were a bit more al dente than I usually prefer. My date went for the short rib, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender over a smooth carrot purée. Everything was beautifully presented and clearly made with care. It's definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, service, and overall experience make it worth it. Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the whole atmosphere felt relaxed yet refined. Whether you're staying at the hotel or just in the area, Salt is a great pick for a nice night out on LBI especially if you want elevated seafood and a setting that feels special.

Filet mignon special

What a wonderful dinner in The Hotel LBI. Atmosphere was great and Rooftop bar was an added bonus. Service was excellent and the waitress was on top of everything. Food was delicious, highly recommend any seafood on the menu and Filet mignon. All in all ,a great night out.

We had a delicious dinner at Salt Kitchen & Bar to celebrate a friend's birthday, and the experience was lovely. The bread service was unexpectedly phenomenal the rolls were warm, fresh, and honestly one of my favorite parts of the meal. We started with a charcuterie board, which was just okay--not bad, but nothing special. On the other hand, the burrata we shared was excellent. The heirloom tomatoes were so fresh, and the drizzle of balsamic brought everything together beautifully. For my main, I ordered the salmon, and it was cooked perfectly: crispy on the outside, soft and tender inside. The rice that came with it was surprisingly flavorful, and I couldn't stop eating it. We also ordered the truffle fingerling potatoes on the side, and they were absolutely heavenly: crispy, rich, and totally addictive.

Beautiful, open beachy indoor and outdoor dining. Blue and white decor throughout. Friendly and attentive service. Cocktails were good , we had a lemon cello spritz and a Hugo spritz. For all we tried the Greek spreads. Better than expected. It came with sickly sliced cucumbers and pita and hummus that was top of tabouli that had a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds on top and a decent amount of olives. It was very light and refreshing. We had three entrées one was the chicken dish one was the halibut and one was the cod. Every dish was delicious. We didn't save room for dessert maybe next time I recommend this place for a nice dinner.

Local Seafood Tower

Gorgeous restaurant with great food. Recommend sitting on the roof for sunset. Seafood tower was amazing but definitely overpriced. French onion pizza was honestly the most unique standout dish but we also ordered the veggie pizza and the sausage and those were great too. The lychee margaritas are also a fantastic choice.

As if Hotel LBI couldn't get any more alluring, this coastal chic restaurant inside is top notch. The ambience is light, airy and refreshing. The signature cocktails and oysters are divine and the fresh seafood offerings are fabulous. I tried halibut -- for the first time might I add -- and it was incredible! A fresh summer salad, fingerling potatoes, and the filet topped with a Dijon cream sauce: devoured in under 5 minutes. My girlfriends ordered the salmon dish with a romesco sauce and bed of rice which was another excellent summer dish.

This place is an absolute gem of LBI! Located inside of the gorgeous Hotel LBI, valet is complimentary for those dining at the restaurant. The service was very good, and I loved that they offered seasonal specials. We really enjoyed the fresh burrata appetizer as well as the chicken and halibut entrees. Overall, a really nice, upscale dining experience. Reservations recommended.

Scallop Ceviche

Extremely disappointing experience. The only thing we liked about this restaurant was the atmosphere and the decor. One downside was we could hear music from the ballroom that was planning for a wedding. The service was very slow and scattered. We told the server that we did not like the ceviche that was on special and his response was "oh but you like everything else"? And then he just walked away. We order two glasses of the same wine but they came out in different wine glasses, with different amounts. Our filet was over cooked, lacked flavor, and was a low quality of meat. The only item we liked was the burrata and the crab cake that came on out steak (the crab cake was an additional $35 to add it to the steak). Would not recommend- you will pay very high prices for VERY below average food.

Saw a few Strongly negative reviews on this Restaurant in the LBI Hotel in Surf City, NJ. But must say had a 6:30 dinner reservation for 5 with a baby also and was happy to say the experience was excellent, from being greeted by the valet, to leaving . Our waiter Matt was fantastic, drinks were perfect, food very good, will agree with other comments that it was a little overpriced, but it's a summer vacation spot so I can see the prices. Our table had the strip steak, Halibut, crab cake. No dessert. I thought it was 5 star service. Sorry to see some reviews were not happy. Ambiance was nice lots of big Windows so bright without being to much , but Great big bar area, not noisy as stated by others but we did leave by 8 pm. Our visit was on 8/6/24

Kids Mac and cheese

I used to love this place but the prices are truly out of line with reality. $229 dollars for a bottle of champagne that costs no more than $60 dollars at the store. In NYC, the price is never more than $150.

This, for sure, has to be the single best meal we have ever had on Long Beach Island. When we…read morearrived, we were seated promptly and were given a large table to accommodate our party of seven. Ben came straight over and introduced himself and told us some of the specials and allowed some time to peruse the menu. We knew that we had to get the children their food first for us to enjoy our meals and we ordered pasta and flounder for the girls and a cheeseburger and fries for the little boy. It's hard to imagine that a restaurant can be very classy while being at the beach and a very casual atmosphere but people were mixed in their dress with those of us who were more casual, but somewhat dressy and others who got dressed to the nines to enjoy their meal out with friends or family. We decided on the advice of Ben to get some duck confit and also some tang tang shrimp and also Nice chopped salad which was fresh and crisp and also some tacos and then we were off to the races with our entrées. We all decided to choose something different and give a little bite to each of the members of our adult party. While I had seared sea scallops my buddy had salmon. My wife chose a salad with some grilled shrimp And my buddies wife decided to have a plate of muscles that she enjoyed immensely. The staff was fantastic in that they took away dirty plates and replaced them with new ones and made sure that the kids had everything that they needed for us to enjoy a quiet and adult conversational meal. Compared to Long Island, NY the prices were really very fair and the quality of the food was very very good. My scallops were excellent and the other plates that I tried all were cooked perfectly. I want to give a special shout out to Ben, our server, for being very friendly and his demeanor while explaining the menu and offering suggestions. I really do look forward to our next trip back

We came to Surf City Bistro for their trivia night after dinner elsewhere. It was a little…read moreconfusing how the whole thing would work at first, but the Emcee/Host explained it all. We started off with some 'doubles' for our drinks as we got settled and ordered a couple of other rounds during the trivia contest...so the bill added up quickly, but we had a blast with the trivia and ended up winning. I know this place has mixed reviews but we had a great time.

Whether we were dining with a group of 9, an extended party of 16, or just enjoying a casual dinner at the bar, the service was consistently excellent. The staff handled everything with ease and professionalism - especially impressive given that our groups included anywhere from 3 to 6 children. They made sure the kids' meals came out quickly (a huge plus for us), and their attention to detail was excellent, even with the larger parties. The food was solid and well priced across the board. We tried everything from burgers and sushi to flatbreads, chicken, and the raw bar, and everything was fresh and prepared well. Drinks were also a strong point - reasonably priced, delivered promptly, and followed up on without us ever needing to ask. A nice touch during our visits was the live music - it kept the kids entertained and added to the laid-back, fun atmosphere. Even our evening at the bar stood out - we enjoyed the same great service and were able to take advantage of their happy hour specials. The updates that have been made here have only enhanced what was already a reliable, welcoming spot. Surf City Bistro continues to be one of the most family-friendly and consistently enjoyable dining options right in the heart of Surf City. We will be back again soon.
