My family's last day of vacation in AC was capped off with an amazing dinner from Salt and Pepper. We were looking online forever trying to decide on what to eat and my wife stumbled on this place. It was the best find ever. I saw they had tortas on the menu and half my family got tortas (I don't think my parents had ever had one!). They make a great torta for sure. Everyone who got other Mexican dishes liked theirs, and the burger people were happy too. If I ever stay in AC again, I will definitely be planning on returning to Salt and Pepper. Not many places I've been serve tortas around where I live. And even fewer make them as good as they do. If you're hungry in AC...don't think about it! Big fan of this small little restaurant. Been here at 3 times already. Whenever I am in Atlantic City this is my go to Mexican Restaurant especially for breakfast. Me and my buddy had the Chilaquiles dish , we ordered the one with the grilled steak and the one with the grilled chicken. Both dishes were loaded with delicious black beans, tasty chips with a green spicy sauce , amazing over medium eggs and the best part was the proteins. Steak was good and chicken was great. This place is a little pricey but I think for the area, for the portions and flavors that It is definitely worth It. At least worth a try! Place is always clean and seems pretty well maintained. Very good service & food. Had birria tacos, el pastor tacos, guac & chips & horchata. The chips and guac were excellent and clearly homemade. Very rare I notice good chips, but these were crunchy and fresh. The birria tacos were another high point, with great consume with full tacos. The el pastor tacos being pretty good. It is in a sketchy part of the city and the prices are higher the some strong competitors, But they do offer a local discount for Atlantic City government workers, and maybe more, which makes this place a must stop for locals. read more

From the outside, you would never know this place is so fantastic. There were several folks inside, and the server took our order quickly. Soon I was staring at a perfect and overflowing plate of Mojarra Frita (fried whole fish) with a side of Mexican rice and salad and a basket of tortillas. Was scrolling on Yelp looking for a brunch place and saw a photo a breakfast cheeseburger at Salt & Pepper and made it my mission to try. The ironic part is that I ended up getting an omelet. Really great place. Small, clean, one guy working the entire kitchen, managing 20 things on the plancha at the same time, and they all come out amazing. I have had many many lengua tacos. These surpassed them all by a mile. The meat was so soft and juicy and flavorful. The birria tacos were very good. The torta huge and delicious. We were kinda skeptical to go in because we thought it was close, turned out the sign was just little. Came in greeted and sat immediately. We only saw two workers, the server/ cashier and cook. Salt & Pepper is a cash only small restaurant located on Pacific which is just one block from the Boardwalk. Inside it's very plain with an ordering counter in front of the small kitchen with an adjacent small dining room. I think most of their patrons get their food to go. I visited for lunch last week and ordered a cubana torta with fries for $17. I added a Mexican coke to drink. If you dine in like I did they provide table service. The meal arrived in less than 15 minutes after ordering. My picture doesn't due justice to the size and thickness of the torta. It consisted of meat, lettuce, tomato, avocado and beans. This was a very good tasting and filling sandwich. Honestly, it was more than I could eat. Also the fries, were hot and seasoned and good. I enjoyed them too. My older son and I ordered and shared the "Nachos Mixtos" (mixture of beef, chicken and chorizo) while my wife had the "Chorizo Tacos". To drink, we ordered a couple of Jarritos sodas. This food was excellent!!! Everything tasted so fresh, the balance of the spices was perfect, and the garnishes were a nice touch. My husband and I are always in search for an authentic tacos and this place nailed it. It's a small family owned place along pacific Ave. although pacific isn't my favorite, this place is worth it!! The establishment is clean and well maintained with several small tables inside. The owner quickly greeted us and sat us with menus. The smells coming from the kitchen, which is right at the entrance were incredible. I'm didn't see shrimp tacos on the menu but when I asked if they could make them, the owner generously obliged.
