My sister and I stopped in around 3 pm so they weren't crowded at all. The dining rooms were not overly decorated like some Mexican restaurants which I liked. They were separated into sections with half or three quarter walls for privacy and safety which I liked. We were immediately greeted, and seated. We were furnished a huge bowl of salsa chips and two cups of salsa. We asked for and got a cup of cheese sauce too, which was really creamy. Our orders were take quickly and food came out shortly thereafter piping hot. Today was Taco Tuesday so we both ordered Tacos. She went with the hard shelled and I took two soft shell, all the ground beef kind. I ordered one cheese enchilada and she got one burrito. Since we ordered everything via the combo platters we both got rice and beans. I loved my rice and beans and ate all of them both, plus half the enchilada and almost both tacos. All of it was really good. She ate all of her burrito and taco, but left most of the rice and some of the beans because its just too much food all around; really big portions. Bigger than any other Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Our servers checked on us and brought the check promptly including the change. Delicious, and Affordable! We stumbled upon this small family-owned Mexican spot and couldn't be happier we did. Everything is made from scratch, and you can really taste the care that goes into each dish. Great service too and very friendly, kind people. The Asada Burrito was a standout--huge, packed with tender beef, rice, beans, and topped with their homemade salsa. All of this for just $10, and it comes with a fresh ensalada on the side. The flavors were spot on, and every bite was satisfying. We also tried the taco special, another $10 deal that didn't disappoint. The tacos were loaded with flavor, from the marinated meat to the crisp veggies, and that same amazing salsa. But the real surprise was the Cochinita Pibil. It's the best we've had since our trip to Mexico earlier this year. The pork was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with just the right blend of spices and citrus. We always get their Fajitas. They are seasoned well and are excellent. My wife loves the onions ... she says they are caramelized perfectly. They come with the normal sides and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. The portions are large. The service is great ... very friendly. You receive complementary chips and salsa. Here's a tip, if Salsa Verde on Raceway is not near you or you don't want the drive, stop by for a meal to or from the airport. My family loved this restaurant! We started with the dip trio which was delicious but dangerous. I was full on chips before my food even arrived. The trio included cheese dip, guacamole, and Salsa Verde's Own dip which is queso with ground beef and pico de gallo. I had the chile relleno which was delicious. They have a large menu and it was very customizable. I'd definitely like to try more of the menu. They have weekly specials as well. The service was great. We were greeted and seated right away and she checked on us several times throughout our meal. I was craving some Mexican style food and I know this isn't authentic authentic Mexican ok but it's like 5 minutes from my house and I've never been so I decided to finally try it out. It's actually so beautiful inside, full of (probably fake) plants on the ceiling but they were very beautiful. The hostess got us seated right away and I wish I knew our servers name because she was extremely nice and super attentive!! She's a very big part of why I'm giving 5 stars! I ordered a ceviche for an appetizer and I can't even explain how good that was! It was my favorite thing I ordered all together, the taste was mind blowing it was so good!! I had the green salsa enchiladas which were pretty good but not the best enchiladas I've ever had. I got a quesadilla order for my kid which was only $5 which is a great deal for a kids meal and it was an even bigger deal once I saw how much she got! The quesadilla was huge she didn't even finish it lol but yay for left overs! I had a great experience over all and the staff was above and beyond friendly! Nothing here was particularly bad, but nothing was particularly great. Either a very mediocre Mexican restaurant with kind of average prices as others have said I found it kind of bland as well. I would've liked the rice. I've had a little bit of chicken broth to it or something, it was just kind of bland and the beans didn't have enough seasoning and they were nice and smooth, but I prefer them to have a little more cake or zip too, the meat was a lot of grease on my shirt, but that's not really. It was pretty juicy and tasty however, of liked a lot more cheese in quesadilla. The meat was great, but but you know the quesadillas supposed to be cheese first the shell was a little soft and crisp thick as I would've liked, I had a chimichanga chicken. The chicken was moist again, kinda lacking and seasoning a little bit plain cheese saucetaco salad she said it had a nice mix of everything was pretty well put together. All the meals were lacking guacamole I didn't really see it offered something put on either. She's a big fan of that, but they didn't seem to have much. She says you can get a side of it for three dollars my main grump about this place is first off first time we came on New Year's Eve and they closed real early and I bought a Groupon and had drove over an hour and wasn't planning on coming back for quite a while, I went this time to use that Groupon because it was about to expire. I also didn't like the Groupon because it was $40 for like 21 something but I didn't read the fine print and you had to buy for meals. We've been really want to both buy two meals. We would've liked to bought two nicer meals and bought you an appetizer and drinks and stuff but you know that's what we were stuck with. I don't like having to buy four meals. Also, they are Pepsi products which I never like. service was fairly prompt. Bathrooms were clean. I got happy that happened to get seated in the booth that had a plug because my phone was low on charge for the closing New Year's Eve and if I could've gotten my Groupon, they would've gotten four stars. read more

I like this place. Unassuming, but the food and the drinks will get you hooked in no time. Seems to be doing a lot of carry out business, so it can get a little confusing at the entrance. You don't know which way to go since people tend to pile up near the door. Make it past there and you are all set. They do have table service. Service is friendly and speedy. Prices are quite reasonable also. There are daily specials and I happened to encounter the margarita special... don't mind if I do... very yummy and actually boozy... a must try. I indulged in the chimichanga and was not disappointed. I had chosen shredded beef and it was nicely seasoned, as was the rest of my plate. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. Love this place! Have been here several times since they've opened (still somewhat new... or in my brain they are anyways). My personal fav is sitting on their patio in the summer. Its small, but you can't beat frozen margs and summer time. They always have a groupon going on here, I take advantage of the buy $12 for $20 worth of food. I will say that this is a pricier Mexican restaurant than other ones close by, but buying the Groupon really does even it out. On Tuesdays they have $1 tacos (cant use the Groupon on this day). On Wednesday and Friday they have half priced margs. Most recently, we went on a Thursday. We ordered margs (I recommend the mango), guacamole (they put a MAGICAL cheese on it. Idk what it is. But order guacamole. You won't regret it), a chimichanga, enchiladas, and a chorizo taco. Everything was delicious as always. I've never tried their mole sauce (on the enchiladas) before this time, and its a unique taste but super yummy! We had Alondra when we went. She was so friendly and polite! This was my first time dining here. I'm not sure why it took me so long to visit since I drive past often. The restaurant sits in the corner of the strip center located on the corner of Raceway Road and Rockville Road. It sits at the opposite end of Panera. Parking isn't an issue either since it's in a strip center. I stopped in after shopping for a quick drink and appetizer since we were having a late dinner. I was greeted immediately as I entered. The dining area felt a little small and choppy with a wall separating the area. Seating consists of tables and booths and social distancing was being practiced. I opted for a booth away from the entrance. My server was attentive without being intrusive and checked on me several times. My drink and food arrived timely which helped make this a quick stop. I looked over the menu which has all the traditional quesadillas, tacos, enchiladas, burritos and nachos. Since I only wanted a light appetizer I ordered the ceviche. I think she said the fish was tilapa and of course mixed with onions, peppers, diced tomatoes, cilantro, cumin and lime juice. The ingredients were fresh and everything was a tiny dice making it easier to eat. I enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients and the well blended flavors. Strangely, the ceviche was served on a plate instead of a margarita glass or bowl as most restaurant do. It didn't make for a pretty presentation and it was a little more difficult to eat than if it were in a bowl type container. Regardless, it was tasty. Salsa Verde has made some changes for the better I would say! We were in last night for taco Tuesday and they are now a sit down restaurant. No more ordering at the counter and having your food delivered to your table. Now when you walk in they seat you and take your order at the table. When seated we were served chips and salsa which before you had to pay for, works for me cause we always ordered it. It seemed like they have a larger menu now. We just ordered the $1 tacos so I did not look at all of it. They have removed the salsa bar. But to me it not a big deal cause the salsa they brought to the table is the only thing I ever got off the bar. So it made room for two more tables. Our tacos were great like always. Woooow. Who would have thought that I'd find the best burrito I've had thus far in Indiana ... in Avon, of all places. But yeah, these guys know how to make a mean burrito. I took one bite and was like, "Yep, this is what I'm talking about." One bite was all it took. First, I ordered a bean, rice and cheese burrito, and they didn't bat an eye. They didn't ask me if I wanted queso or sauce on it, they weren't confused that I didn't want meat in it, and I didn't have to explain what a burrito was to them. The beans are housemade -- they are refried and pale, almost gray, which is a sign of good refried beans. The rice is Mexican and tomatoey. The cheese was adequately melted. The tortilla was appropriately translucent. You guys, all these things matter, and Salsa Verde's burritos have all these things. My husband got a burrito, too (with steak, rice, beans and pico de gallo), and he said that he would drive to Avon in a heartbeat to get more burritos. My kids were equally impressed (they're little burrito connoisseurs, bless their budding foodie hearts), and when we got home, one of my children wanted to go back to get another burrito. Salsa Verde has won my family's burrito-loving heart! We have high standards when it comes to Mexican food, and this place exceeds our expectations. If you want a great burrito, too, I suggest ordering from their make-your-own burrito menu. My favorite is a BRC (beans, rice and cheese), but I feel like you probably can't go wrong adding in a meat and some pico and maybe even guacamole. Salsa Verde is located off of Raceway road on the westside of town. The interior is vibrant and clean and the staff are friendly. They have a nice menu that include, fajitas, quesadillas, enchiladas, and yes churros! The street style chicken tacos had a great seasoning. The Mexican style street corn was good as well. So I have been to this spot a handful of times. It is pretty solid for dinner. I have had issues with service in the past. Not so much today, but there was only one other table when I came in today. I have had the fajitas, they were solid. The enchiladas were alright. I came on a taco Tuesday once, where they advertise tacos for a dollar. That's a bare taco though. If you want toppings that will cost you extra. They have different daily specials. I just had the shrimp and rice. The shrimp were well seasoned, but the rest of the dish was kind of bland. I ordered a burrito, it came out with some sort of dark mole sauce on top. It was not good I scraped it off and just worked my way through the food, it was not very enjoyable whatsoever. My wife and I had an early dinner during the week at this restaurant, so the hostess/waitress seated us at a four top in the central dining area. Overall, we found the food and service good. Though similar to many of the other restaurants serving Mexican food, we did note a few items that were different. Our first impression was that this restaurant was a bit more "classy" than many of the others we have been to. Though the color of the dining room was a vivid green, it was tastefully decorated without all the over the top colors of some of the other places. This looked like a restaurant for adults, though I am sure kids are welcome. My wife ordered a strawberry margarita and thought it very good. A very pleasant surprise was that it was only $3! Not huge, but still, a very good price. I would think they would have a sign up if it was on special and if that is the everyday price, I would be shouting about it! She also ordered the Fajita Taco Salad with steak. The steak, though well done, was still juicy. (Yea!) However, it was cut into thick four inch strips which made it difficult to cut since the shell filled the small plate. If you order this, ask for a second plate to be able to cut the steak on. The serving size was large, so she requested a "to go" box for about a third of it. I went with a Chimichanga with ground beef as my meat option. It came topped with cheese and sides of rice and beans. Also on the side were toppings of greens and sour cream. There was supposed to pico de gallo (according to the menu), but none was visible. Inside the chimichanga was packed with seasoned ground beef and what I think were small potato cubes (they were thoroughly cooked and soft). What was missing were any bell pepper or onion like I am used to. Not knowing what is authentic, I can't really say whether this way of serving a chimi meets "authentic" criteria. I just know that I was expecting something different based on other dining experiences. In fairness, the meat filling was generous and probably more expensive than filling the tortilla with veggies, so I am not complaining... just pointing out a noticeable difference. The service was pleasant and checked in a few times to be sure we were doing okay. The restrooms were well maintained. The table has a canister with napkins and metal utensils. There are several televisions with either muted sports programs or Hispanic news with Spanish subtitles. Overall, the experience was positive and enjoyable. I would suggest it was a little more upscale than most Mexican restaurants and the price was maybe a little higher, but not to where they aren't competitive. p.s. The restaurant is in a strip mall on the southeast corner of Raceway and US 36. Due to the construction, the sign is down and only a small banner near the doorway lets you know you have arrived. A true hidden gem in AVON! It's in a strip mall with other restaurants and bars. Went for the DEVOUR INDY menu to try places that we have not tried and fell in love right away! The Queso cheese is amazing. The chips and salsa are good. The chips are thicker then what you get a most mexican restaurants. The "gringo" taco's are really tasty and you get a lot in the shell or flour tort. The burrito is YUGEEEEE! Stuffed to the max with chicken/beef/pork. Very flavorful. They have great drink specials every day of the week, the Margarita's are great, well worth it during the 2 days that they are on special. (WED/FRI half price $3.50) The tequila carmel sauce they have on the desserts is UNBELIEVABLE! I wanted to take a bath in that! It is the perfect way to end the meal! read more

Don't bother ordering enchiladas, you'll get wrapped tortillas with a few spoonfuls of sauce. Horchata has gone up in price like "what the heck, am I ordering alcohol?!!" I get a better price on margaritas at Applebees on a Wednesday night than for a simple drink at Salsa Verde that's mainly water + sugar and SOME rice flavoring . Just don't bother going here. The food is very good. They recently just had taken out there salsas bar which is a bummer, but they will still bring you the same salsa they had at the bar. You get free chips and salsa now. With the changes they really need to get organized with who is doing what. While sitting there someone walked out because it was taking too long to be greeted at the table.
