Today I visit Salsa Tex Mex for lunch cravings for fajitas. I had choices of several other restaurants including one with a special. Salsa was a little further distance wise but the reviews all looked good. Service was excellent. I was greeted quickly at the door and sat immediately. And, drink order taken. Chips, salsa and bean dip were provided. I enjoyed the salsa which was a little spicy/hot. I choose the lunch combo steak and pork fajitas. Im not a guac fan so they sub cheese. I also asked for fresh sliced jalepenos. The fajitas were good/tasty. The meat was tender, not dry. The veggies: onion and bell pepper were grilled but still crisp. Refried beans good. Side of pico, sour cream and cheese all fresh. My ice tea was topped off several times. And Waiter stayed in tune. Service was very excellent. read more

I have gone to Salsa Tex Mex many times and it was good, but last night was different. It was horrible. My waiter was a total prick. He wasn't very friendly and made my friend and I rather uncomfortable. I went and asked the manager if we had done anything to offend him and she went straight to him, but instead of returning herself, she had the waiter return. Of course, now he was trying to be nice. The manager never came back to follow up to see how everything went. Once we got our meal, mine tasted old. My friends was good but mine legit tasted like it had been sitting out for awhile. Picked up order Got to corner store to buy drinks before I decided to check my order(my fault I know better) but I realized they did not have any salsa or my black bean dip included so I called to make mention of this. The girl that answered the phone was combative saying she knows that she packed salsa and been dip. My response was is it invisible then BC I don't see it in this sack or any of the containers. Usually I/we love this place; not today! :-/ For starters, I'm writing this because we have seen over the years how hard the owner works and I'm thinking he might want to know about today. The waitress took our orders...last time we saw her until it was time to pay. It to what seemed like forever for our food to come out and when it did, my order came out wrong. Another man who served the meals took mine back and it took a loooong time to bring out my two enchiladas a la carte...my husband was almost finished with his platter by the time I got my two enchiladas. No one ever came by to check on us. The original waitress was in a very long conversation with the cashier...looked our way every now and then yet kept on talking...and I do mean a looooong time. Finally she comes over, I ask for a to go box. She never comes back. The man who served our meals asks if we need a box. Then he asks if we want separate checks. I'm ten years older than my husband of 26+ years and look it. It felt like an insult or totally insensitive at most. The food tasted good. The rest was lousy thus the one star. read more

For a local small Tex-Mex, this place is the best!! We've been to Salsa several times now, I never would have heard of it probably had not our dear friend Fr. Bruce Bradley from St. Elizabeth not spoken so highly of it! I've heard he brings all his out of town guests here and that is an extremely powerful recommendation!! I am new to the neighborhood and tried to love this place, I really did, but every time I come here it takes the waiters 10+ minutes to even acknowledge me. When ordering take out, an item is ALWAYS missing and they cut off their phones at 9:30 exactly so I cannot call back when I get home to ask what happened with my order. Thankfully, I live across the street and can come in less than a few minutes to inquire. Had I lived further, would my money have gone to waste? I was pretty excited after seeing all the positive reviews. My experience was, as a 3 star yelp rating says, just A-OK. Nothing more, nothing less. I can't think of anything that really makes Salsa stand out from the many other Tex Mex restaurants in the area. I did really enjoy the complimentary black bean dip that they bring out with the chips and salsa. However, my chicken fajitas weren't very tender or all that memorable. What a nice hidden gem in Plano! Passed this place all the time since I get my eyebrows done right next door, but finally had a reason to go here when my friend recommended it for a cinco de mayo celebration. The fact that they have happy hour all day from Monday through Thursday makes me a happy camper. I got a mango margarita for about $5 and it was really good as well as strong. The complimentary bean dip and salsa that comes with the chips are also delicious. It's dangerous how fast I can go through those. My friend got some type of enchilada and it was really good. This is hands down my favorite restaurant. The margaritas are good and they have happy hour all day, 4 or 5 days a week. My favorite is the brisket enchiladas, and I also like the huevos con platano on the brunch menu. The kids love the bean dip. Husband likes salsa mex fajitas or steak quesadillas. My wife and I used to love this place, but the last time my wife visited, she was verbally attacked by the manager. He cursed at her and got in her face in front of the entire restaurant. The service is always great, and everyone is really friendly. So far we've tried the chile relleno, carne asada, taco salad, enchiladas, nachos, queso con chorizo, and sopapilla's. A friend recommended this restaurant and it was not bad. Had a family outing with dad, mom and both of our daughters. The atmosphere was pleasant the sevice was good. We were served right away with salsa, bean dip and chips, waitress was on point. Husband order carne asada, I order the beef plate, one of our daughters order the fajita quesadillas and our youngest order the chicken strip plate. All plates were hot upon receiving at the table. My wife and I have been to Salsa's countless times since moving here 6 years ago. Their food is simply wonderful and and we are always amazed how fast our food is served. The Meltdown frozen margarita is absolutely my favorite marg served anywhere, at any price - and their's is very reasonable, especially at happy hour. The menu is all the standard Mexican fare in good combinations, but also offers unique dishes that don't disappoint. I see a review that 'meh's' the fajita meat. I realize that everyone has different tastes, so I won't discount that review. But I LOVE their fajita meat. I personally recommend the Enchiladas Tejanas, which is two cheese enchiladas topped with chopped fajita meat. read more

This kind of random spot has become a very good gem in Plano. Seems like no one I talk to knows about it, yet everyone who has been there loves it. They have good quality food, nice music and quit a bit of variety in their menu. They have Tex-Mex classics along with some authentic dishes and even a few non Mexican touches like fried plantains and ceviche. I usually get their grilled quail or Guiso. They also give you black bean dip along with salsa and chips which is a huge plus for me. Our server Mike (I think was his name) was very prompt, friendly, and readily available when needed. Great service from him for sure! It has been.... well never, up until tonight, that I have found a tex mex place with great salsa and enchiladas where I can also get fresh ceviche (not some garbage swimming in cocktail sauce) and tres leches cake. Usually I have to go to multiple places to get all of these. This place had all of my favorites and they were great! I told my friend they are a 10/10 or better!
