Best pizza in the area. Crust isn't super thick, loaded with sauce and cheese, and my favorite topping is bacon. The last time I will say I was a tad disappointed the bacon wasn't done hard enough but every other time it was AMAZING. They're super busy but it's so worth the wait. In my opinion they are the best pizza place in the valley. Once, when they accidentally sent the wrong order home with us, THEY called us because they discovered the mistake and they DELIVERED the correct order to us!! That's going above and beyond!! Staff was helpful and pizza was the best in PA!! They were making fresh bread while I was there and it looked amazing! The restaurant was clean and the bathroom was as well which is a plus! We will go back to try the food, when we do if we are as impressed with the food as we were with the pizza, I would say it's 5 star woe ******update-Drove 45 mins back to this restaurant to try the "food", Well I have officially changed my stars from 4 to 5! I've been coming here almost 10 years. The food's been pretty good. There was a meatball crisis a couple of years ago when they switch the recipe and then switch back. Thank God. I love the regular pie, German pie, ham and pineapple pie. Also a fan of the cheesesteak and the fried fish sandwich. Though the fish has been hit or miss. For appetizers I sometimes get the corn nuggets some meatballs the loaded fries covered in cheese sauce and bacon little sour cream on the side. Oh what wonderful food. Let's start with the homemade rolls they use for their sandwiches, unbelievable! They are dense, very tasteful long rolls. We love the steak sandwiches on them along with the Italian hoagies. Wow amazing! The pizza is exceptional, $15 for a pie but they are larger than the normal pie and delicious! The soups are amazing, homemade and they change daily!! The corn chowder is awesome! The front room is more for quick service, the waitresses are not that attentive, so try to grab a table in the back. It's very warm and inviting. The table service is much better. They have take out 6 packs of beer and a huge take out menu. I love getting take out from here, usually when you order fries they are like mush when you get them home, they put them in a brown paper bag, they stay warm and crispy! Take my word for it, try a sandwich with their homemade bread!! Amazing. They have a full Italian menu, you can't go wrong with the pasta. YUM. Give it a go. New York quality pizza in the middle of nowhere. That's sal. I love their pies, but best to eat there. Personally I like less cheese and the pizza is very crisp and light when you order it that way. Very tasty sauce; crisp crust. Yum. They have other things, but haven't bothered trying them. OK ambience (for a pizza place). Good family place - bring the kids. read more

Pizza here is definitely top notch for this area. I could probably choose 20+ pizza places closer to home but this one is worth the hike. Would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for NY quality pizza in this area. The price I'd say is good considering Sal stays true the the real Lg 18" pizza. My family has had pizza here several times now and recommend to keep it simple. Ie. don't order their specialty pizzas. Keep it to cheese and pepperoni. Sals has a large menu of salads, sandwiches, pizzas and the likes. We have only tried their cheese steak sandwiches and pizzas. The cheese steaks are great. Homemade rolls are fresh. Toppings are well proportioned and they are cooked just right. Pizza overall is greasy but for a cheese and pepperoni, well, you'd kind of expect that. For other pizzas though, like the taco, stuffed vegetable or the meat eaters... Here is what we experienced. Keep in mind, you'll pay more for these ($22-$27 for a large) so our expectations are a little higher. Especially when we order more than one. Temperature: they tell you to pick it up in 20-25 min. Tip, be there in 10. If you come later it will be warm not hot and by the time you get home, it needs a microwave. Cooking: specialty pizzas need to cooked longer. Tip, tell them you want it well done. They should be cooked through the center so the dough is not gooey. They should be cooked long enough so I can lift a slice out of the box without it flopping in half. Toppings: should be applied so the center is not soupy and the toppings don't slide off such that now I'm eating pizza off a plate with utensils vs. with my hand. Tip, tell them not too much sauce and toppings in the middle. Grease: to be honest, there is just way too much of it. Tell them to either go light on the cheese or to use low fat instead. Ive never had a meal at Dal's that wasn't good, but their vodka sauce is absolutely the BEST! The prices are a bit on the high side, but the quality makes it SO worth it! Also, the portions are big enough that you can get multiple meals from one! Sal's is our go-to when we're looking for real Italian food! And the desserts.. omg! read more

I'm reading the reviews and I can't help but think that I went to the wrong place. I had shrimp parmigiana and it was kind of a joke (I didn't eat it) they made it with the smallest shrimp that I have ever seen! It came with soup or salad so I had the soup, (not knowing that I would be sending my dinner back) they charged me for the soup and the bread .. Bottom line, terrible... read more

Had the spaghetti with meat sauce ground beef was grounded to fine could not taste the ground beef because it was like water.sauce was also to sweet made with to much sugar real Italians don't make the sauce sweet like that.never in my life have i put Tabasco sauce in my spaghetti but had to because it was to sweet.then they put water in the Tabasco bottles and the garlic knots were soggy and mushy. read more

The absolutely best place for pizza . There is nothing on the menu that is not good and all portions are big. The owners are very nice and employ a nice staff that make me go back all the time. Very good establishment that I've been too a few times the last few years. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel right at home.
