Back again, this Wednesday, because our power was out and that large Sicilian pizza left a great impression from a previous visit. The highlight of our experience was our server, MASON, whose service was on pointe with a gauged continuum that was refreshing and easy. He mentioned he spends a shift or two in the kitchen helping the cooks with preparing orders. This young man has the right qualities to be something special one day and kudos to his parents. The open dining room is narrow but the table setup worked well in that space, allowing several 4/6 top tables for small groups. Anyhow, the sauce on this pie is the draw because it's very similar to what I ate growing up courtesy of my Nonna and my mom's homemade cooking. The crust is baked just right, topped with quality cheeses and the red pizza sauce was abundant and delicious. As we were waiting for our pizza, we took the opportunity to view all the other entrees served to get an idea what the menu items look like and that frutti de mare is next on my bucket list!! SATURDAY 9/6/26 our $100 dinner for 3 served by a lovely, smiling waitress,,,that's where it ended for me,,,my chicken Marsala was inedible as the 2 generous portions of chicken were rubber like and could not be cut by a dinner knife or a serrated bread knife,,,they were perfectly oval like the kind that is delivered wrapped in plastic and Frozen,,a far cry from Bruno's fresh chicken of years ago,,,we've been loyal customers since 1999,,,as I've cooked for years,,I can only assume this chicken was nuked in the microwave to heat up,,,that's what rubberizes meat in my own experience,,,the waitress cheerfully took both untouched pieces away and replaced them with one breaded piece of chicken,,,which was somewhat better,,I got thru half by cutting with some effort,,,,the sauce and mushrooms, and pasta were perfect,,but the Meal was spoiled for me,,,we were offered no compensation for the loss of the replaced chicken ,,,I got 1/2 serving of meat in the end,,,NO comment from the kitchen,nothing,,,I rrelize Patti and Bruno were not there,,but who's running that kitchen ? When prices went up,,we remained loyal,but when quality goes down too, it becomes questionable,,,you can't hit. A Customer 2 ways at once! We'll be thinking things over,,,,I'm not sure what we'll decide,,,we've also seen a huge change in meat quality at a nearby streak house,,,tough meat again,,,a whole other meal in the end,,,and yes,tneir prices went up too! We found this restaurant online and we were coming to Bethlehem from Wayne, NJ. We made a reservation for 4 on Sunday at 3pm and arrived on time! We were met by our server Maddy and seated at a large table. The food and service were outstanding. We come from an area filled with Italian restaurants and we were so pleased that we wouldn't hesitate at all to drive back just to eat there again! Met up with my favorite lunch dates while in town from Texas, lunch was great as always. Bruno was welcoming as always and the server was attentive and ensured we had everything we needed along with keeping our glasses filled. I'd say my only complaint (and it's really not a complaint) food took quite a bit of time to come out, it was fine for our lunch since we were just chatting and catching up.. but if someone was trying to pop in on lunch break- you probably won't be in/ out in under 30 min. Always a good meal and Love the Bruno Special Sicilian. I bring my family for lunch sometimes and never had a bad meal. Only issue is tables are a little close. Group behind us were a little loud and our conversation was lost. But I will always return for the food and service. read more

If I could give zero stars I would, my family and I order take out twice a week from this place, there's a 100 mediocre pizza places to order from, We will not be back. I stop in for a quick slice of pizza, the owner hands it over the counter, I ask "may I eat it here"?, he gives me an attitude and says if you wanted to do that you should have ordered from a server. There's no servers standing up front and if this moron had asked me if I wanted it for here or to go, I could have sat down and ordered from a server. I decide to just take it and eat in my car so I didn't inconvenience his empty restaurant and he makes a snide derogatory remark when I'm walking out the door. The pizza has been pretty good but honestly I just ordered two pies recently, one plain one with one topping and it was $32 and some change. That really is about ten dollars too much in my opinion. So I have been going to other pizza places nearby. Marinellis and feasta are just as good. read more

I came for the pasta and what I experienced was classic old school Italian Restaurant, where there seemed to be a lot of regulars. My dining party and I arrived on a Friday evening, walking through the takeout area to the back dining area. We were seated and waited on by a delightful waitress who seemed to have been working there for many years. She gave us the lay of the land (i.e. the menu) and had an easy demeanor about her. The menu was extensive but not overwhelming. All the classic Italian dishes were on the menu, so depending on what mood you were in you could have anything from pasta to pizza to a seafood. Since this was my big meal before the Lehigh Marathon on Sunday, I opt for an order of Garlic Knots (with extra garlic) and their Frutte De Mar with Linguine. Our meals started with a small salad and before we knew it we were presented with our meals. The garlic knots - warm and not too greasy were super garlicy, just the way I like it and served with a well balanced and slightly chunky marinara sauce. However the star of the show was my pasta dish which was chock full of seafood, all of which tasted fresh.The dish was also tossed with the same marinara sauce as the garlic knots came with. I had an option to have the dish tossed with a spicy sauce but I declined. Bruno's is a great place with a lot of character. You will not find "fancy" dishes on the menu but what you will find is delicious comfort food and an ambiance much like you might have at Sunday Dinner. read more

My girlfriend and I had a lovely dinner from Bruno's the other night so we decided to place a lunch order today. We ordered the stuffed mushroom app, the rice ball parm app, and a large Sicilian pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni. The rice ball was good, albeit a little plain. The stuffed mushrooms were overcooked and the cheese was very tough. The worst was the pizza. For a restaurant that claims to use the freshest ingredients, it's an unforgivable offense when the pizza box is opened to find handfuls of canned mushrooms spread over the top of the pizza, not baked into it as it should be. I can't get over charging nearly $20 for a pizza and using canned vegetables. We'll be back at some point because my GF really loved their Eggplant Parm but I won't ever eat their pizza again. read more

I used to get food from this place years ago and every time I stop by to visit my parents in Bethlehem, I make a pit stop at Bruno's. The gnocchi with spinach is absolutely fantastic and it's obvious the gnocchi is hand made. I stopped by after a long bike ride today and crushed an entire Sicilian pie that tasted better than I remember it ever tasting (not that it was bad before, but it was exceptionally good today). I also ate a plate of gnocchi and drank a bunch of montepulciano. Highly recommend and if they owners were rude to you, you probably deserved it. read more

This is my go-to place for eggplant parm. Instead of the side of pasta, I get the broccoli with garlic and olive oil. It is absolutely delicious. I like to see what soups they have the day I order since I'm a huge fan of homemade soups. The chicken with tortellini was very hearty. Don't forget they give you a chunk of Italian bread on the side. When we get home from picking up the take-out order, we put some chopped garlic, butter, and parsley on top and bake it quickly in the air fryer. Sooooo good! I do find the prices a bit higher for the area, however, I don't mind paying it for the portion size and quality of food. read more

It's taken me a good year to explain what happened in winter 2023 and my husband and I are still very upset, annoyed, all the things over it. But I will elaborate so others know when they go here. We were regulars at Bruno. In fact, they go to our church and we are well known in the community. We made it a tradition to eat there every night before Thanksgiving with my elderly parents who came up from another state. My daughter would always sing, "We don't talk about Bruno" and laugh with the owner. Again, we were regulars. His wife always gave our kids free refills on drinks. Imagine our surprise when the SERVER asked my 2 kids if they wanted a refill and they did. We were charged $4 extra a drink for a total of $16 for sodas. You know it costs a mere pennies for seltzer and syrup. Price gauging and greed at its finest. When we asked Bruno to take it off, he was nasty to us. Said it's not stated on the menu "free refills." I left my credit card in the car and as my husband went to get it and I stayed in the entryway, he has the nerve to call out to me, "DON'T YOU LEAVE WITHOUT PAYING!" It was like all of a sudden we were strangers! I was deeply offended and embarrassed. And we never returned. My friends and family also were stunned and said it wasn't right. read more

I'm quite particular about my pizza and I do not like it sweet. I feel they use quality products, and it is very savory. The lobster dish is also excellent. We had such a wonderful time here, the food and service were both great! We were greeted right away, directed to the back and then sat at a table right away. We went on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't crowded at all when we got there, but a few more parties came later in the afternoon. We ordered the garlic knots and bruschetta for appetizers -- because we couldn't choose! Both were delicious--maybe the best bruschetta ever. Delicious red sauce! We had the carbonara and chicken parm. They were both delicious! The carbonara comes with fettuccine on the menu, but they don't mind substitutions, and I prefer spaghetti. The servings were very generous. We took leftovers home. Note the meal comes with very nice crusty bread--so you don't have to order a bread. It also came with a choice of soup and salad. This is the first time I have dined-in at Bruno's. I know from past take out experience that the pizza is fantastic, but heard the the dinner menu was really good as well so I wanted to check it out. This restaurant is a converted farm house. The front is their take-out area where you can also order calzones and pizza by the slice. They have what was likely once the parlor set up with a few tables. You can also get six packs of beer like Peroni, Blue Moon, and others. We opted to go back to the dining room where they have a full dinner menu. The decor not what you'd call updated (wood paneling), but it was packed and our waitress Sue was a hoot. I ordered the Chicken Picatta which came with soup or salad, and a giant roll (which may also be their small hogie roll). The rolls come from down the road in Jersey and were really good. Crispy on the outside, yeasty inside. The soup de jour offerings were Italian Wedding or Cream of Pierogi. This is an Italian restaurant, not Polish, and I had never heard of anyone turning pierogies into soup, so I went with the Italian Wedding soup. It was pretty standard, not bad, but boring. I choose very wrong! I snitched a taste of the pierogi soup everyone in my party had the guts to order and it was Awesome! Our waitress, who warned me I'd have regrets, asked about it when taking our soup bowls and burst out laughing when I told her I didn't want to talk about it. The Chicken Picatta comes standard with a side of pasta covered in red sauce, but can also be ordered in the Picatta sauce under the chicken. I chose the latter and penne pasta. The sauce was light and flavorful (then lemony after I squoze my lemon wedges all over it) and the capers added a nice salty element. The chicken was pounded thin a very lightly fried. All in all I will definitely return and really want my own bowl of Pierogi soup one day! read more
