Another fabulous meal at La Dolce Casa. Our friends from the area had never seen the beautiful Christmas lights so it was especially fun for me to see the reaction of my friend. Came here for lunch and wow it was great. I got the chicken parm and it was masssive!!!! I came with my Aunt and we were seated at a table near the bar area. The restraunt itself was big and busy! Even though it was busy, our server was great. She made sure to check on us and keep our drinks refilled during our meal! The chicken parm was delicious. Chicken cutlet was breaded to perfection. While we were there, we spoke to the owner who told us to come back after Christmas to see the spring/summer decorations. We stopped on our way home from NY. It was delicious, with good-sized tender shrimp, perfectly blended spices with lemon garlic butter, and tender pasta. I enjoyed a crispy fresh salad with house creamy Italian dressing. I think this would be a great place for a baby shower, a bridal shower, or a young girls birthday party. The decor is all there already, there will be no need to decorate. There are pink artificial flowers, and lights everywhere, making for a nice scene for such events. I had the chicken Parmesan. The chicken was good, the portion was large. I've been here twice and both times we were impressed with the quality and flavor of the food. Parking is the only downside to this place but even if you have to park further down the street it's not a very long walk. My husband and I shared the lasagna the first time, which again had so much flavor. Best I've had. This past time he got a meatball sandwich and I chose the pierogie and broccoli cheddar bite apps as my meal. You can taste that these are made from scratch. Beautiful decorations inside. At that point, you might as well just bite into wet bread. * Beef Lasagna: Very watery. It looked like they just threw some white American cheese on top and called it a day. The pasta was stuck to the dish--I felt like I needed a shovel to get it out. * Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo: Didn't even come with fettuccine--it was served with penne. The flavor? Hard to describe... mostly tasted like whole milk and Parmesan. It was seriously lacking in seasoning. The chicken tasted boiled and bland. A simple sear would've made a huge difference. * Chicken Parmesan: Surprisingly, this one was actually delicious. Huge portion of chicken, but again--very under-seasoned. * Lemon Chicken Pasta: Just okay. Like the other dishes, the chicken had little to no flavor. I'm really not a fan of that boiled chicken taste. Simple changes can make a difference! The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, but serving food on styrofoam plates was a major letdown. All holiday season long, people have been talking about this restaurant with all the Christmas lights was the go to place for dinner. I can say everyone was right! The walls were covered with lights and they had a Christmas house scene in the back of the room. Even with the holiday season coming to an end, the whole environment still gets you into the Christmas spirit. The food was delicious, classic Italian food and came in massive portions. Make sure you bring an appetite before coming here. During the holiday season, they do have a special menu for their most popular dishes and they ask if you are getting an entree to order off this specific menu rather than the main menu. Been here a couple of times. I've decided on a new policy. I have to visit an establishment a couple of times before I write a review - UNLESS my visit is horrifically bad like it was at Union and Fitch in Allentown. Anyway, been here 2 times. Very attentive staff. Host, waiters/waitresses are on top of it PLUS they're friendly. The portions are GINORMOUS. The menu is expansive. I would have only 2 gripes to share about this place: 1. Marinara sauce is a bit TOO watery/runny for my taste. 2. Every time I've gone (two times) I've had to swat a fly or two away from my or my companions dining plate. read more

I had heard about this place by my brother and sister-in-law who recommended it. I am new to the area of Coaldale. My mother and nephew live here and I am staying with them for a bit. Heading back west. I was hoping to experience a decent Italian grubbery without having to drive to either Hoboken, NJ or NYC. As I'm from that area I have a definite knowledge of good Italian. Dolce is conveniently across from a Wells Fargo - so needing an ATM is not a problem. Parking could be a challenge as the parking - from what I could see is meter parking. When you walk in you see a very nice decor. It's very festive. There are plenty of seating - and I believe there is also a second floor. There are lights everywhere. It's very nice and soothing. The tables are nicely spaced. And there is outside seating for parties of two or one. I wouldn't try sitting outside if your party is larger than 3. The staff was very nice. Very attentive. We were seated immediately and given menus. The server can by within a few minutes and took our drink orders. We ordered the Fries Combination for appetizer - it wasn't anything to crow about. There was no garnish on the plate and the few things on it were very small. I wouldn't refer it again as it just didn't look right. We got some garlic bread knots which were very tasty. When my nephew asked about more - the server mentioned we were getting bread with our dinners but didn't say anything about the knots. We would've paid for the second order. We got our salads and those were decent. Each person enjoyed it. They only serve Creamy Italian and we're not offered oil and vinegar. We hadn't finished our salads and the server brought out the entrees. I HATE THAT! The other people eating made some room on the table - but I refused. I had her take the order back and keep it warm. Anyone working at any dinner restaurant should know to NEVER bring out the main course until AFTER the salads are eaten. It a trigger point for me. It makes me feel rushed and it was an early table on a Tuesday - there was no rush. Food orders was Shrimp Scampi with Linguini - pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce was light on lemon and seasoning. The shrimp were good I ordered the eggplant Parmesan which was okay. The cheese used was sliced mozzarella - which I thought strange as they use shredded for their pizzas? I also order a side of sausage 1 which came sliced in marinara sauce. It was okay. The sausage was different. Again. Okay. vodka Penne was ordered by another person and my nephew had the Spaghetti & Meatballs. He enjoyed it. After dinner we were not asked if we wanted a coffee or espresso. No dessert was offered. The server was nice. She really was. I think it's the training. At least I'm hoping it was. If I go back I'll try some other items. I need to say this - the sauce...gravy...was very good!! Really good. The place is clean and inviting. If you're in the area make this a spot you frequent. We've eaten dinner here a few times and loved it, but always forgot to write a review. Lunch there the other day reminded me to write one. First lunch. We had a hoagie and a sausage and peppers, both excellent. They were made on what they called bread, basically small loafs sliced widthwise and toasted perfectly. My bar for rolls is Amoroso, these are nothing like them but better if you can believe it. No way I could eat the entire thing at once. Dinners have been uniformly excellent. You get garlic knots even before drinks. Everything we've had has been very good, and they make some of the best Alfredo I've had. Very healthy portions. If you go around Christmas, they do a very nice job decorating the place. It's worth going just to see that. This place is worth going out of your way for! read more

The Customer Service is very attentive and likes to keep the energy high. Great seating options for small to big crowds. Private room option for wedding receptions, graduations, etc, and a Selfie Wall for pics. They make their own bread , and I was told "You have to get the Cheesesteak Special!" It was delish! I'm used to most restaurants using Amaroso Rolls, and their bread did not disappoint. It was filling! Great amount of sauce and ingredients. Almost needed a nap after eating it. Food coma. Finally had the opportunity to dine at this beautifully decorated family restaurant! It was magical, enchanting...our family just couldn't help smiling as the decorations and lights are so uplifting. We visited on a Monday evening during their Christmas season while they were decorated and WOW! So pretty!! We ordered a chicken, bacon, ranch pizza and it was delicious -- one of the best I've had. Our server was amazing and very attentive (AND he made awesome holiday drinks!!). The couple sitting at the table next to us ordered chicken and/or veal parm and the meat was the size of my head!!! We made reservations over a month ago and we were expecting a great experience and service. First off our reservation was at 6 and we arrived at 5:20. We checked in and by 6:00 still so sign of us being called. Once we approached the host stand and asked how much longer, the host was more concerned about the football game on his phone then checking for us. Turns out his game was more interesting and he never checked us in properly so we waited an additional 15 minutes to be seated. Second off, the waitress and waiters were very very slow and disorganized. We didn't even get drinks for about 30 minutes. Food was brought to us with no plates or silverware. 30 minutes in, we finally got drinks (water and soda) It took almost an hour for our entrees to come out and they were not good. They take too many people and can't seat them all. We asked for bread, plates, napkins so many times and they never got them for us. Very disorganized but lights were beautiful. I found this place thanks to Google. After a business meeting, my friend decided to take his family and me here. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed with the ambiance and decorations. The Food! I got a gluten-free pizza that was so soggy. I picked it up and the entire middle just fell off. There was just some crust that I could chew on the rest of it was wet and spongy. I heard good things about this place but this is the second time I've been there in the second time I've had a bad experience. I mean I'm a New York, Italian, born and raised, but I'm not a jerk when it comes to Italian food. I have never left a review for a business before but was so appalled by staff behavior I couldn't wait to come home to write this. After having a pretty mediocre and pricy dinner (albeit the portions are HUGE), we decided to stop at the bakery next door for some desserts to take home. We walked in around 5:10pm, knowing the bakery closes at 6pm and would likely have limited options left. No problem. There were no prices on any of the desserts and most of them didn't have any description as to what they even were. When I asked the girl working a question about one of the cupcakes in the case, she rolled her eyes clear out of head. It was like pulling teeth to get her to answer any questions about what was in the case and any answer she did give was with attitude and condescension. Hopefully she was just having a bad day and that isn't how she is representing the business on a regular basis. The lights are beautiful but I have no intentions of ever returning. read more
