    Chicken Parm
    Shealyn M.

Came here for lunch and wow it was great. I got the chicken parm and it was masssive!!!! I came with my Aunt and we were seated at a table near the bar area. The restraunt itself was big and busy! Even though it was busy, our server was great. She made sure to check on us and keep our drinks refilled during our meal! The chicken parm was delicious. Chicken cutlet was breaded to perfection. It was so huge I got about 3 meals out of it!!! Menu was massive so I'm looking forward to going back and trying more. If your looking for a day trip & spot to eat, this is the place for you!!!

We previously went here at Christmas time and enjoyed the decorations and food. While we were there, we spoke to the owner who told us to come back after Christmas to see the spring/summer decorations. We stopped on our way home from NY. Once again the decorations were over the top. The food was delicious and plentiful. We had the gluten free pizza on a cauliflower crust, sausage and peppers sandwich, cheeseburger sub, and meatball parm sandwich. We also ordered the broccoli and cheese bites and curly fries. We had plenty of leftovers to take home.

Lovely checkout counter goes beyond all expectations!

I went with a Seniors group for a late lunch. We were limited on the menu, but it wasn't really limiting due to an abundance of superior meal choices. I selected a favorite, shrimp scampi. It was delicious, with good-sized tender shrimp, perfectly blended spices with lemon garlic butter, and tender pasta. I enjoyed a crispy fresh salad with house creamy Italian dressing. Fresh, warm rolls arrived perfectly timed prior to the salad, along with tasty signature marinara sauce. The decor presents a unique lifetime experience--a true Winter Wonderland spectacular! This year was resplendent in Nutcracker theme, pinks throughout, and bright reds in other spaces. Many lights and decor that glistens welcomed us in our memorable visit. The owner family and employees are 100% accommodating. We will return! Yes, as other reviews note, parking can be a challenge. Parking nearby and walk, taking in quaint town architecture and businesses en route.

I think this would be a great place for a baby shower, a bridal shower, or a young girls birthday party. The decor is all there already, there will be no need to decorate. There are pink artificial flowers, and lights everywhere, making for a nice scene for such events. I had the chicken Parmesan. The chicken was good, the portion was large. I am not a fan of a sweet sauce, and the sauce was on the sweet side, so I didn't love it, but it was good. The service was good.

I've been here twice and both times we were impressed with the quality and flavor of the food. Parking is the only downside to this place but even if you have to park further down the street it's not a very long walk. My husband and I shared the lasagna the first time, which again had so much flavor. Best I've had. This past time he got a meatball sandwich and I chose the pierogie and broccoli cheddar bite apps as my meal. You can taste that these are made from scratch. Beautiful decorations inside. The lights gave my niece the inspiration to get a fairy light curtain for her dorm. Definitely worth checking out this gem when in the area.

The service was excellent--staff were super friendly and welcoming! Now, let's talk about the food: * Bruschetta: Unfortunately, it was soggy. At that point, you might as well just bite into wet bread. * Beef Lasagna: Very watery. It looked like they just threw some white American cheese on top and called it a day. The pasta was stuck to the dish--I felt like I needed a shovel to get it out. * Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo: Didn't even come with fettuccine--it was served with penne. The flavor? Hard to describe... mostly tasted like whole milk and Parmesan. It was seriously lacking in seasoning. The chicken tasted boiled and bland. A simple sear would've made a huge difference. * Chicken Parmesan: Surprisingly, this one was actually delicious. Huge portion of chicken, but again--very under-seasoned. * Lemon Chicken Pasta: Just okay. Like the other dishes, the chicken had little to no flavor. I'm really not a fan of that boiled chicken taste. Simple changes can make a difference! The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, but serving food on styrofoam plates was a major letdown. When you're paying over $20 per dish, real plates shouldn't be too much to ask. They can definitely do better here. Yes, the portion sizes are huge--but unfortunately, the flavors don't live up to the presentation or the price

All holiday season long, people have been talking about this restaurant with all the Christmas lights was the go to place for dinner. I can say everyone was right! The walls were covered with lights and they had a Christmas house scene in the back of the room. Even with the holiday season coming to an end, the whole environment still gets you into the Christmas spirit. The food was delicious, classic Italian food and came in massive portions. Make sure you bring an appetite before coming here. During the holiday season, they do have a special menu for their most popular dishes and they ask if you are getting an entree to order off this specific menu rather than the main menu. You still have the option to get any apps, salads, and sandwiches from the regular menu. Overall, this is a great restaurant to come to during the holiday season!

    Christmas decorations

So beautiful for Christmas. It really puts you in a festive mood. We were a party of 12 and the service was outstanding. The food was delicious. I had the chicken Parmesan and it was amazing. My husband had the broiled haddock which he said was delicious. Everyone else said their food was delicious also. Definitely worth a trip.

The food was delish and plentiful. Service was excellent considering the place was full with a waiting of about 20 minutes. First time and chose to visit for my 83rd Birthday.

The portions each time were HUGE....it's a bit pricey, but well worth the experience. I noticed the Vodka Penne on another patrons plate and it looked SO good. I eventually ordered the Scampi Extreme (or something similar) Gnocchi, shrimp and scallops in a lemon butter sauce - I left stuffed. The garlic bread was infused with garlic...warm and buttery. I recently saw a report where the average chain restaurant was experiencing a "low" in patronage - it's because the average chain restaurant offers basic high-priced trash.... THIS place... again, a bit pricey, but you get fresh, well-thought-out options and portions that you'll have to take with you. My dining partner ordered the baked ziti and it was huge - she had to take most of it home so I'll get a crack at it later this evening . In any event, give this please a try if you're in the area. They know how to do NON runny marinara.

Our waitress was very nice and accommodating to my elderly mother's needs. Great place! Do not wait as long as I did!

The calamari and mushroom soup appetizers were great as always, I ordered the Macaluso martini which was great again, my husband had a good old-fashioned, except they used the bright red cheap maraschino cherries instead of the higher end dark red ones that you would expect from a higher end restaurant. The not so good... Every dish like Veal Parmesan had veal crossed out on the menu and only left a choice of chicken. We typically prefer veal when we're out because we cook chicken at home all the time. So that limited, especially what my husband wanted. Then he asked for the breaded pork and was told they were out of that too. Then he ordered the House special stuffed chicken, which the chicken itself was very tasty but the linguine that came with it was so overcooked it was mushy. Pretty disappointing for an Italian restaurant. I ordered the chicken Macaluso and then was told that they were out of Angel hair pasta. I asked to have pappadele instead of linguine or rigatoni, cause I don't like either of those. They were able to give me the papadele which was cooked well. My food was good, but it was unusual. It came a large flat-ish bowl and it was submerged in a broth that didn't taste like a sauce that would go with pasta. It was very thin. Also, what is a little strange is we each got the house salad and only had three options of salad dressing and none of the options were Italian dressing in an Italian. The bread was very good however it was cold and it would've been better if it had been warm. When we were getting ready to leave, my husband asked if he could have a fresh serving of linguine that was not mushy for his leftovers. They were accommodating and brought us all our food to go. When we got home, he tried the pasta and it was yet again overcooked and mushy. Not sure how an Italian restaurant can get pasta wrong twice. Disappointing to have so many things not be available on the menu. Our waitress was nice and looked so embarrassed when she had to tell us for a fourth time that something was not available. Very strange to have a seating at 6:15 on a Saturday and to be out 4 to 5 different things. Going forward I think we will eat at the bar and just get appetizers and drinks cause that was the best part of the meal.

The square pizza is the Sicilian pizza Luigi's makes. That was the kind my husband had tried and loved- so we ordered that with pepperoni. I walked up to the counter to order the pepperoni Sicilian pizza. The girl at the counter was not particularly pleasant or friendly. She quoted me 10 minutes. 10 minutes??? For a thick crust pizza? I even asked her about it- she claimed they could get it ready in 10 minutes. I went back to the location after stopping into Tap S Trees after 15 minutes. The pizza, of course, was not ready. The pizza took 25 minutes. It's irritating to be quoted way off because I rushed to get back in the quoted time. The interior offers some dine in seating, there are refrigerators with drinks, a "tree" of snacks/chips, & refrigerated desserts. Tamaqua buildings are very no frills and old, but that's where some of the best food is made. Watch your step upon entry! I liked the interior signage "In God we Trust- all others pay cash". They do take credit cards. No punishment with fees that I noticed for using them. My pizza was a 16" and was 25$. I enjoyed the pizza and Luigi's has another location in Brooklyn- surprising to me- Tamaqua and Brooklyn. The pizza was tasty. I liked the style of this pizza- the Sicilian was not too bready like I've had in other places. The sauce, cheese, pepperoni were all delicious. I would definitely go back if I were in the area. Luigi's has a lot of good specials posted on their door entrance too.
