Fire Pizza On A Late Night In The Middle Of Nowhere.

Had The Honor And Pleasure To Eat Here A Year Ago. It Was Late At Night And The Group Of Godly Men I Was With At The Blue Mountain Christian Retreat We're Hungry. We Ordered Just Shy Of 45 Min Before Closing Due To Us Finding This Place Not Thinking Anything Would Be Open Late. Everyone Else Closes At 9 or 10. We Were Welcomed And The Owner Stayed And Made Us 4 Pies. Also, Threw In Some Garlic Knots For Free. Very Kind Man From Italy. Pizza Is Amazing!!! Great Taste, Fresh Ingredients Even At The Late Hour. And Tonight We're Back Again For More!!! Tonight He Blessed Us With A Hawaiian Pizza And Took It Upon Himself To Bless Us With Bacon On It. He Also Blessed Us With 2 Trays Of Fresh Garlic Knots With Fresh Pesto Sauce. Food Is Amazing!!! We'll Certainly Be Coming Back Every Year!!!

I have passed this place many times on our way to Allentown, the Turnpike, etc... The neon lights always deterred me from stopping, not sure why. So after a day of car shopping in the Lehigh Valley, we stopped here for some spur of the moment Valentine's Day Dinner. Did not look crowded, and got a little worried. Being V day eve, thought it would have been packed. Upon entering, I was blown away. Very welcoming and cozy atmosphere. We were offered a table by the gas stove if we were cold. My wife darted right over ad said perfect. Waitress was friendly and prompt. Our drink order was taken and she said she put our knot order in. Waitress came back with drink and a dozen piping hot garlic knots. BONUS !!!!!. They were awesome. Our son ate 3 of them. We placed our order, my son had spaghetti and meatballs, my wife had the Chicken parm with bowties, and I had the Fettuccini Alfredo with broccoli and chicken. We both had salads with ranch and house dressings. Salads came out a coupe minutes later and were delicious. Perfect amount of everything for a salad. Dressings were very good. Their dinners are made to order so the entrée wait was a little longer than most places. Boy was it worth it. This was some of the best Italian food I have had in a long time. The portions were huge, I even had leftovers, and that is rare. Did not have room for desert. Will we be back, heck yeah.... So much more to try on the menu that sounded delicious. When leaving, we went through the bar area. What a neat area, very cozy. Seems like the type of place where you can sit and enjoy a few beers and have some pizza. As for the gimmicky neon lights, I guess it is to get noticed along the road. They do not fit the atmosphere what so ever. And to our waitress, awesome job. She mentioned that she was new and came from the diner scene. Not used to the slow paced work flow.

Delicious!! I can't wait to go back and try some more. Service was efficient and helpful. Prices are very reasonable for the portion size. I had a Cheesesteak Hoagie so good! My husband had the Veal Florentine with Served with a salad, side of past and garlic knots. He really enjoyed it. There is a full bar and a dining area. They have plenty of parking across the street from the restaurant.

We brought a bag of Daiya mozzarella, and they put it on the pizza. Tasted wonderful. Such good dough. Very nice of them, and great all around service.

The sausage is way too thick on their pizza but the peperoni pies are done perfectly.

Denise helped us at front counter and great to learn the majority of this family are busy in the business in one capacity or another. We decided on a few slices of different counter pizza and a steak sandwich, side of fries. Sandwich was tasty and needed more meat for the size of the roll. Anyplace can serve a 10/12" roll yet sparse meat. I base my review on the taste of the sauce, the quality of the food and the service.

The gal who waited on customers was super friendly and the bread served with our salads was out of this world - light and crusty with a moist, soft inside. We both had fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and were surprised by the soupiness of the sauce. We were also disappointed with the amount of fettuccini. It was difficult to eat because the strands were short and fell back into the soup-like sauce. The flavor was good just that the sauce was thin and watery; we've never experienced Alfredo this thin. The pieces of chicken also seemed skimpy. We were disappointed that small paper cups for soft drinks were $3 each although we did get refills. We suspect had we gotten Italian grinders or sandwiches rather than dinners, we would have been more satisfied.

These were good signs that an authentic dining experience was about to occur. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting and the staff is terrific. We enjoyed it so much we made a repeat visit the next day. We were lucky to have Maya as our server on both occasions -- what a wonderful young lady! She spent ample time with us explaining the whole menu, some local favorites and the love that the owner/chef puts into his dishes. And she checked in with us often. Excellent! We had a great time on both visits. From cocktails, appetizers, entrees and our desserts, Maya walked us through everything - so friendly and knowledgeable! We enjoyed the sampler appetizer with bruschetta, meatballs and mushroom crostini. Very good! Bread came out with our soup and salad - my wife's Lobster Bisque was very good and my house balsamic salad hit the spot. On the 2nd night we had the crostini variety, with fig, honey, prosciutto - great! For entrees, the "Sunday Gravy" dish can easily feed two - delicious! An assortment of meat simmered in their sauce with homemade pasta. My wife enjoyed that on visit #1; my son went for it on visit #2. We also enjoyed the Chicken Milanese and 'Ndunderi - delicate gnocchi in vodka sauce with small Wagyu beef meatballs baked with smoked scamorza cheese (similar to mozzarella). Excellent! Desserts included chocolate lava cake w/ ice cream and a smores-themed dish. Very good! We can't wait to visit again ! Definitely try Salute when you're in the area! Ciao!

We arrived about 415 pm ahead of the dinner rush that followed us closer to 5pm. Avalon served us well, engaging and friendly. The menu is ridiculously extensive, and this is not even including the daily specials; some the items on those menus are incredible and some of our favorites. They also sell their sauce and their marinara sauce in mason jars, which people come hundreds of miles (literally) to stock up on. Fabulous pizza, hot and cold subs and sandwiches, and a great selection of pasta and antipasto. Though they have a great selection of desserts, you likely will not have room because the portion sizes are rather generous. Make sure you really know how big the Stromboli are, in particular, or you will likely have a doggie bag to take home with you. Truly the best food, service and... well... people.
