THIS PLACE SLAPS…read more Breakfast and dinner are 5/5. Such great food, great service, and an absolutely beautiful hybrid patio area. The drinks are incredible as well while being fairly priced. I did not think this place would be so good but it's found its way up on my top 5 list in southern NJ. Tastefully thought out menu that does everything so well, and it's not even that expensive!

I have been coming here since they first opened, and it has always been one of my favorite spots. Over the years, the food has consistently been great and I've always had good experiences with the service, which makes yesterday especially disappointing. From the beginning, it seemed like our server had far too many tables and was overwhelmed with the workload. We initially ordered our appetizers, and when she brought them out, we told her we were ready to put in our entrées. She said okay, but then did not return to our table for another 20 minutes to actually take our order. We were left sitting there waiting despite already telling her we were ready to order. I completely understand that restaurants get busy and that servers can be stretched thin. However, the lack of attention to our table made the entire experience frustrating, especially at a restaurant where I've had such consistently good service in the past. Unfortunately, the food was also not up to the quality I've come to expect from Cinder Bar. To make matters worse, after eating there, I became extremely sick with symptoms consistent with food poisoning. I normally wouldn't let one bad experience erase years of positive ones, but between the extremely slow service, disappointing food, and becoming sick afterward, this experience was bad enough that I no longer feel comfortable returning. It's genuinely disappointing because Cinder Bar has been one of my favorite restaurants since they opened, and I have recommended it to others many times. I really hope management looks into both the staffing situation and what may have happened with the food that day, because yesterday's experience was completely different from the Cinder Bar I've known and enjoyed for years.

This review is for the diner and the lounge…read more Diner: Rebekah and Melissa provide professional, top-notch service and Geets is lucky to have them both. They are knowledgeable about the menu/specials, extremely personable and pleasant, and quick and efficient. I look forward to seeing them and they're one of the reasons I keep coming back week after week. Geets diner hits on all the main reasons I love a diner: huge menu, copious servings, and friendly service. The place is clean, and the lighting is great. The bathrooms always look maintained. There's a huge counter section and 2 different spaces with tables and booths. There's enough room for everyone, even on busy days. The atmosphere is relaxed and you can watch TV too, if you'd like. The meal I am mostly coming in for is breakfast. The specials, which are available M-F from 7AM-11AM, are, quite frankly, the best value in town. You cannot beat Geets prices, especially considering what you get. But more importantly: the quality is A+ and the servers take care to make sure your plate is correct before they bring it to you. If you have not done so yet, check out their "customer appreciation" breakfast special. Two eggs, choice of meat, potatoes, toast, unlimited coffee, and a small juice. What would you pay for this? At Geets it is $10.65, which includes tax. Ask your server about substitutions too, because I know instead of "home fries" you can get fried potato cubes, grits, or even sliced tomatoes. It's good to have choices! There's a reason Geets has been opened as long as they have. There's a reason it's a landmark. I feel confident that if you're within 20 miles of Geets, you've heard of it and have been there. If not, you need to go there now and experience it for yourself. Lounge/Bar: for me, it's all about service. JoJo, Shayna, Lisa, Paul, and Frank - you're in good hands. They're proficient mixologists, they know the menu, and they're fast. You are getting stellar service with a smile. The atmosphere is welcoming, too. There's a huge bar with plenty of TVs and the outside patio area is now enclosed, virtually doubling the bar/lounge area. What's been done with the space is refreshing to see. Once the double doors are opened, it's like one big bar and lounge with plenty of space for everyone. Booths and high-top seating complete the layout. As with the diner, the lounge offers exceptional food and drink at great value. Happy hour is from 3:00PM-7:00PM M-F and the specials on food and drink are fantastic. It would be wise to check the website and/or Facebook because they have specials during the week that you should take advantage of, such as Thursday night pizza and Wednesday night half-priced wings. A huge plus is that the diner menu is available in the lounge too. Another reason to check online is there is often entertainment, such as trivia night and live music. Whatever you're in the mood for regardless of time of day, Geets has something for you and you'll be glad that you went. See you there!

Their hours, for right now, are Tuesday - Sunday 7AM through 3PM. Closed Monday. When I pulled up this morning at 6:50AM the front door was open and the griddle was hot. This is great for me because I need to be at work by 8AM. Regardless, my sausage egg and cheese sandwich was ready in about 3 minutes. I was running my mouth but still out the door in 5 minutes with a hot sandwich and a piping hot coffee. The coffee was good. The sandwich was better than expected. Why? 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties, 2 cheese... What? $5.99 WHAT? They cooked to order and excluded salt but added extra black pepper, which is what I asked for. If you understand how important the egg/meat/cheese to bun/bread ratio is, then this is the place for you. The menu looks mouth watering and I can't wait to try all of what they offer. I'm including pictures of the menu but was informed new menus are being printed - as soon as I get my hands on one, I will post the updated menu. I am rooting for this new, local business. Find out for yourself SOON and give the Blue Arrow Cafe a try - like, today or this week would be good!

Dinner menu and specials menu looked promising. The place is still dark, but it adds to the inside ambiance. Kayleigh was our server. She was attentive without being over bearing. Drinks were ordered and delivered. DH had his usual vodka tonic and I ordered my classic Old Fashioned with Makers Mark. Points off for the way it was made. Many small ice chips, a macerated piece of orange and a macerated whole maraschino cherry, complete with stem. I fished out the chips and put them on my small bread plate. Didn't discover the stem until deep into the drink. (I prefer the classic recipe using a large ice cube, a Luxardo cherry, and a slice of orange peel) Salad bar was well stocked. Hard pass on the lettuce because of the recent cyclospora scare, but we found other items. Potato salad, macaroni salad, hard boiled egg, chick peas, sliced beets, pineapple, cheese cubes, various breads Dinner was delicious. I ordered the Tips and Tails. It was steak tips, lobster tail and two fried large shrimp, a huge baked potato. DH had the stuffed salmon and asparagus also with the baked potato Lots of leftovers. And a slice of Whiskey cake to go.

Bartender told me the glasses sit with ice in them before they are used. Drink was chilled but not like a good Martini should be.. We ordered 2 apps: little neck clams in a garlic butter sauce and stuffed mushrooms with crabmeat. We also ordered the salad bar for both of us. There was probably a doz clams some with no clams in them and others floating in the butter. The mushrooms were not the stuffing type should be 1"-2" wide, they were tiny with a dab of crabmeat on them. Salad bar was just ok. Both apps were $16.99 each and the salad bar was $8.99 each. Very disappointed and food not worth it. Will not be back.
