DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! BE AWARE, NEW OWNERS I am from…read moreNorth Kingstown. My family and I have known Dan Crotty for years and have always taken our cars here. Work was always impeccable and Danny was the nicest, most trustworthy personable guy. I was recently in an accident and with no hesitation brought my car to Crotty & Son Body Works knowing that they would take care of me and my car. It was only after bringing my car there that I learned Danny Crotty had passed away and the body shop is under new owners. I picked up my car about a week ago and noticed a click sound when I opened my driver side door, where the car was repaired. Upon inspection, it is clearly apparent that the quarter panel was not properly aligned. The paint is chipping where the door hits the panel and the spacing between the hood and the panel is at least double than what it is on the other side. The rubber stopper at the top is not properly secured and juts out. The paint does not completely match. I called Crotty's to explain that the car was not properly repaired and I am unhappy with the service. The woman I spoke with tells me I need to bring the car in right away. I explain that I am at work. She tells me maybe I shouldn't be on the phone at work and mocks me for being upset. While at the same time speaking over me and down to me she rattles on about her 37 years of experience. With that many years, you would think a body shop would know how to properly align a panel on a car and treat a long time patron with respect and kindness. My car cost thousands of dollars to repair. They were happy to take my money and my insurance company's money, do a shoddy job, and then treat me like I have no value when I inquired about it. I will now have to spend more money out of pocket to get my car properly repaired. If you like to be taken advantage of, berated, and belittled this is the place for you. They should be ashamed to continue to use the Crotty name.

And, let me tell you, we couldn't be happier with our decision. 1. Car buying doesn't have to be painful. We both used the same Sales Expert, Carlos Pineda. Carlos is knowledgeable, friendly, genuinely cares about his customers and is looking to create lasting business relationships - he's not just looking to "get the sale". He was responsive and thorough at every interaction. I cannot recommend him highly enough. 2. Car buying doesn't have to take all day. When the Business Manager knows what he's doing and isn't looking to sell you something you don't need or leave you waiting to make you "sweat it out", it can be incredibly painless. Bo Cranick had everything ready to go, was well prepared and is an expert at what he does. Again, thorough, kind and genuinely cares about his customers and the business. 3. We've got free oil changes as part of our purchase and I will gladly drive to Valenti to do it. We were introduced to the Service Team and felt like valued customers. I can only assume that this means that the dealership is run properly from the top down. You can tell when you're dealing with a business that has a good culture and while good culture and car dealerships aren't often thought of in the same sentence, Valenti is proof that it's possible.

We've purchased several cars from Kingstown Auto over the years, and our experiences with Sina and…read morethe sales team have always been excellent. They've been honest, straightforward, and genuinely helpful every time we've worked with them. I want to make that clear up front, because this review is not about sales -- it's about the service department, which is a completely different story. Before driving from Rhode Island to Florida, we were told by David in service that our oil change and inspection were completed and that the vehicle was good to go. After arriving in Florida, we learned the oil change was never done, which the shop later admitted and refunded. The oil filter wasn't even screwed on correctly, and there were visible oil drops under the vehicle -- issues that would have been obvious if any inspection had actually been performed. Because we relied on what we were told, we drove more than 1,300 miles with little to no oil. The engine now has major internal damage, including a broken camshaft, and the vehicle is not safe to drive back to Rhode Island. We now have to pay to transport it or repair it out of state. It's extremely disappointing to have trusted the service department with something so basic and essential, only to end up with thousands of dollars in damage and a completely avoidable situation. I would absolutely recommend the sales team, especially Sina, but I strongly caution anyone considering using the service department at Kingstown Auto.
