This is our second purchase from Valenti in less than 6 months. My wife and I both needed a car and specifically drove past other Subaru dealerships that are closer to our home after reading positive reviews about Valenti. And, let me tell you, we couldn't be happier with our decision. 1. Car buying doesn't have to be painful. We both used the same Sales Expert, Carlos Pineda. Carlos is knowledgeable, friendly, genuinely cares about his customers and is looking to create lasting business relationships - he's not just looking to "get the sale". He was responsive and thorough at every interaction. I cannot recommend him highly enough. 2. Car buying doesn't have to take all day. When the Business Manager knows what he's doing and isn't looking to sell you something you don't need or leave you waiting to make you "sweat it out", it can be incredibly painless. Bo Cranick had everything ready to go, was well prepared and is an expert at what he does. Again, thorough, kind and genuinely cares about his customers and the business. 3. We've got free oil changes as part of our purchase and I will gladly drive to Valenti to do it. We were introduced to the Service Team and felt like valued customers. I can only assume that this means that the dealership is run properly from the top down. My experience at this dealership was very disappointing! The salesman (who was a manager) that I worked with was indifferent, not helpful and did not communicate the status of the new car I was getting. My vehicle was delivered to the dealership and sat there for weeks waiting to be prepped before I could come in and pick it up. When I did come in, I was handed the keys and told you are all set, I was not shown the vehicle etc. Because of this experience I will not return to Valenti Subaru for vehicle service or when the time comes to purchase my next Subaru someday. read more

My wife and I drove from Narragansett to Westerly for dinner on December 23rd in our 2015 Subaru Crosstrek. We stopped for a few minutes to do some local Christmas shopping. The car has always run beautifully until we restarted it and pulled out on the highway. The car started to shake and shimmy as if I had one or two flat tires. At about 40 MPH it became intense. It was about 5:15 and already very dark. My wife and I were frightened to drive the car and were at wits end how we were going to get home with everything closing up for the night. We limped back to Valenti Subaru where we originally purchased the car, but they were already closed for the Christmas holiday. Fortunately, there were a couple of sale's people still in the showroom, including my now lifetime, go to salesman, Adam Kaplan. Exceeding my after-hours expectations, Adam opened the Service Department door to let us into a lighted space to examine the tires and car. We could not see any problems but were afraid to try and make it home. In a wonderful display of customer service, received approval to give us a loaner vehicle and leave our car in the shop. Adam should be recognized as an exemplary representative of Valenti and their commitment to customer service. He will certainly be the person I will go to, when we are ready for a new car. read more

Service isn't bad I've had my car serviced here for over a year and honestly, the service, is okay. So I give it three overall. It's a little sparse inside and not an updated service center like other Subaru dealerships, but the service team seems friendly, they're straightforward, easy to understand, and work quickly. However, my car was in its final year of warranty, and they missed something. When we brought it back and said this same noise is happening again they said "Oh, here's the problem, but you're warranty is up." So, we went back and forth with them about fixing it because it was under warranty when we first brought it to them. In the end, they did pay for it. Ugly Sales Experience Where they fall down for me is in sales. I've had horrible, terrible, awful car dealership experiences in the past and this was just another crappy experience. Justin helped me and my husband test drive a couple new cars. I like having another person -- like my husband -- with me when buying a car because it's such a sketchy experience. I found a Subaru that I wasn't expecting to like and I said to my husband, "hey I really like this one." I wasn't ready to haggle or purchase that night at all. Justin came to us with three proposals -- not of price, but of payments -- which we didn't ask for. Justin seems like an okay guy, really friendly and loves Subaru, of course. He's a little green in sales, but whatever. Justin wanted to negotiate on payments, not total price. Huh? Seriously. Rename it Curmudgeon Subaru But, as you know, the sales guy always has to ask his boss about everything. That's when Bruce got involved. He was acting like a curmudgeon and couldn't even get up from his desk to shake hands or welcome us. That left a bad taste in my mouth. But, my husband thrives on negotiating, so he and Bruce started some back and forth. And Bruce was super rude. Our CarFax wasn't clean -- which was an error that we later corrected with CarFax -- and clearly Bruce didn't like that, or us. I got the impression he thought we were lying. Anyway, instead of saying "hey, the CarFax has errors all the time, you need to reach out to them." We said we weren't getting our deal done here. And we walked out. I can't even say how much I disliked this experience, but I can say that if you're looking for a new car there are other dealerships, so check them out. read more

This may be the oddest review for an automobile service department, but here goes: There is a gentleman in the Subaru Service Department whose name is either Brady or Brodie. He is a GEM! Let me tell you why: I had a "loaner" for a couple of days and inadvertently left some clothes in plastic bags in the trunk of the loaner which I was giving to "good will." When I called to retrieve them, Brodie (or Brady) had to find that specific loaner (the number one pain in the butt). Then, realizing that the car was out with another customer, he said he would make a note of the bags, and that he, HIMSELF would take them home and throw the bags into a clothing donation box that he drives by on his way home from work. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!?!?! Isn't that incredible?!?!? I have deep respect for whoever is running the service dept. because obviously, he is leading the team in such a positive way. I thought I could always trust Valenti's since I've always had amazing experiences at the mystic location. However, this time I cannot say the same. When I bought my car I thought I was getting a deal but instead my credit got run twice when I already had a loan set up. They assured me that wouldn't happen and that it was only going to be a soft inquiry clearly not the case. On top of that there's been issues with the car first it was the wiring in the tailgate randomly working on and off. Then with the rotors making a random grinding sound and after 3 visits there still no answers as to what the issue is. Now 2 months after the sunroof stopped working and on top of all that I just got issued an emissions testing when they told me the car was all set with testing and road ready. Never again. read more

Yup, I'm a fan. yea yea, it says that already, but how big of a fan? were not talking wind farm, but think large oscillating.... so I drove from the hartford area to have my baby serviced for its 30k! why did i trek out here? well, the stupid ct dealers either wanted too much (suburban does 60k service at 2x the cost regardless, and bertera sucks in general, see yelps) and well that. so i called and spoke with a nice man who helped me out, even gave me a coupon for the service, two weeks alter i roll in and jason helps me out, what a nice guy! seriously, he was! They did tell me 4 hours, and i planned accordingly, but when i rolled up, it was only an hour and change. they washed and vacuumed and it looked like they did both! all was done and it was still expensive, but it was required and i was happy i made them my service people. would i come back out these parts? yes! will i bring the wifes toyota to valenti's toyota service? yes! there you go, 4 stars, I cant give them 5, its against principle, but maybe that next update..... oh their coffee machine didnt work, burn them to the ground!!!! j/k j/k j/k read more

Great customer service & speedy, but too speedy. Came to change out my battery terminals and this is the condition they left them in. Now we must fix them ourselves. I did not have a good experience with Valenti Subaru of Westerly, RI. I emailed the Internet sales representative, Ann, the model, package and options I was looking for on my 2017 Outback and asked for a quote. Ann called and went over the package and options with my wife and me and quoted us a price of $32,050. I had been reaching out to many dealers and this was the best price. The closest quote to Valenti I received was $32,400 from Somerset Subaru. Thus, I thought I had found my dealership to buy my 2017 Outback from. I took my wife and two daughters and drove the 50 minutes to Valenti Subaru. However, I was mistaken. When I arrived at Valenti Subaru I didn't work with Ann, but another sales representative named George. George went over the paperwork he received from Ann, and I noticed the EyeSight package was not included. George went to speak with Ann and returned now with a price of $33,900. Ann admitted she had left out the EyeSight in the price. I was dumbfounded. I wanted to speak with the manager, Tim, but he was busy. After waiting ten minutes I left and George said he would call me later that day. Conversely, I never heard from any representative of Valenti Subaru again. I did receive a call the following day from Subaru of America asking me how my visit to Valenti was, and after I told them they said they would have Valenti Subaru call me, but Valenti never did. Valenti Subaru never called me to apologize or explain their actions. Furthermore, another aspect of working with Valenti to be concerned about was the mandatory VIN window etching at a cost to the buyer of $187. I did not purchase an automobile from this dealership. It had been my intention after working with a very knowledgeable salesperson but then things went bad. When I returned I had to deal with the sales manager. The whole process changed and became very aggressive and adversarial. I was told I should be very grateful with the trade allowance originally offered and that he in fact regretted the offer. When I refused to accept a Forester equipped with options I did not want. I was told I could just wait until February to get a car without the extra options (and the extra cost). When I went to leave, he became blustery, made a disparraging remark about my intention to purchase and refused to return my paper with calculations that I had brought in with me. I suspect ageism and seniors should be careful not to be intimidated or bullied at this dealership. (P.S. I did indeed buy a Subaru and am very happy with it.) read more

The service I receive on my car is always above and beyond! I give them 5 Stars for service and face to face to face costumer service. However, when you call their company line to ask a question or make an apt be prepared to want to throw your phone across the room. The frustration for being on hold for so long is crazy! And Mr. Valenti recorded two or three messages and jingles for the company that are on repeat for your long wait on hold. I would suggest making the drive and going there in person to avoid this. And I thought elevator music was a tad annoying sheesh! read more

I had so many problems with the Legacy I bought here. Two major recalls, the first (engine would stall after coming to a "quick stop") the dealership took care of no problem, the second was horrible (total brake loss)- terrible service, no help so I decided to dump the car and go back to VW in Mystic- same family dealership but the service is 100% better at VW. These guys are great. I bought my Impreza from them about three years ago. They worked with me to get payments within my budget. Phyllis sold me my car - she is a wonderful, friendly, helpful, and respectful salesperson, and a genuinely great person. Three years later, even after having moved to Honolulu, she still remembers me when I call and spends the time to chat with me about life away from Rhode Island. The service department is great - fast, honest, and they usually find ways to help repairs stay within your budget. Tim, the finance manager, was great. He helped Phyllis work with Subaru Finance to get payments within my budget and continues to help me out with warrantee problems now that I've moved to Hawaii (where apparently Subaru America warrantees are not honored - just a heads up). All of the staff at Valenti are very friendly, and occasionally there is even a very friendly and very cute puppy hanging out in the dealership. If you want a Subaru, or if your Subaru needs to visit the car doctor, take it here, hands down, period, end of conversation. These guys are superb! Brought my car in to have it checked out before a rugged trip because something felt off. They only used the computer and replaced $500 worth of sensors, but it turned out that the problem was an engine bearing that they never checked. They should have seen the filings when they changed the oil. The result was the engine blew in a remote location. They wouldn't even take the brand new sensors back and were snooty. Slick talking but basically untrustworthy, Now I have a real mechanic who doesn't solely rely on machines and tries to solve problems. read more
