The front desk gal is amazing and is always checking in on you while you process. Today they had a charm pop up and Alyssa helped me pick out the charms we both thought would look good while I processed, I'm not a gold girlie but getting out of my comfort zone has me thinking other wise!

A little hair background: I have fine, black Asian hair and my end goal is to get platinum blond. Prior to my first appointment, I was all about ashy blond hair. However, I had quite a bit of warmth near my roots and my ends were light, so when I kept using purple shampoo, only my ends would get ashier, making my roots appear even warmer due to the contrast. When I showed up to my first session, Marcie listened to what I didn't like about my hair and what I want to eventually achieve. She then gave me different options depending on my budget ($135, $175, $200), which is very considerate. I went with the $200 option and she let me know that since I had a bit of correcting to do (get rid of the brassy roots and even out my previous blond), it would be a little more expensive this time, but now that I have an even canvas to work off of, next session would be cheaper. Fast forward three months later to today, aka my second session. I've been super excited to go back to Marcie for her to work more miracles on my hair as this time, I wanted to go icy white. She told me that since I do naturally have black hair, I may not be able to get there and I understood that and she once again, gave me the option of partial highlights ($165) and full highlights ($200). I went with the partial highlights and she was able to get my ends super super light. Another new thing that I wanted to try was bring the blond up to my roots, but I noticed it looked a little chunky after she dried my hair. We talked about this and she patiently explained that is because my natural hair is a level 1 and transitioning to a level 7 is a very big difference, but she was willing to apply a little bit more toner in my roots just to soften it up a little more and I was super super happy with the results. TLDR, I would most definitely recommend Marcie if you're looking for a friendly, knowledgable hairstylist who takes the time to explain your hair's situation. Also, she has very reasonable pricing and is only booked about ten days ahead. Love her work and patience!

What a great salon! This place is not your typical "snob"ish type salon. Salons Within makes you feel welcome and at home, while providing all the services necessary to make you feel pampered and satisfied. A girlfriend recommended that I go see Cristina D. because I wanted something new done to my hair. I could not have been happier! Not only did she give me a stylish new haircut, but the coloring was fabulous. I have received so many compliments and have referred others. I was a little nervous going to a new stylist after many years of having the same stylist, but after she had moved away I was introduced by a friend to Cristina domino. At first I was a little nervous gouge to a new stylist, but within the first five minutes of meeting her, the nerves dissapeared. Cristina completely made me feel comfortable and she had great tips and ideas for new styles that complemented my face shape and the type of hair I have. I have been to many salons in the Sacramento area and this one, by far, beats out all the others. I am always satisfied with the quality of service for the price I pay. In fact, I drive all the way from Davis, CA to see Cristina Dimino who always knows exactly what I want without me even having to ask. I am constantly looking for a new style, but I never know what I want and she always delivers with a fresh new look that I love. I have really long fine hair, and it was pretty dry and damaged at the ends because I usually only get a cut about twice a year. Luckily, Alex was able to fit me in the next day. He'not like any hair stylist I've been to before. He was very inviting from the moment I walked in despite me being about 15 minutes late (I called ahead). He even gave me a soft, friendly double handshake when he introduced himself. Then he asked me what I had in mind for my hair. Showing sincere interest in knowing what I saw for my hair, unlike other hair stylists that may do what they want or think is best. He gave great input too and recommended a blunt cut for my fine hair, which turned out wonderfully by the way! When it came to styling time, I asked him to surprise me. I was intrigued by his blow-dry technique with the round brush, it added a nice curl to my hair, and I've never seen it done like that before. When he had me open my eyes for the final reveal, I felt like a contestant on a makeover show haha. My hair looked like it was straight out of a shampoo/conditioner commercial -- so light feeling and shiny. I would recommend going to Alex not only for his artistic hair skills but also because there was no the awkward conversation during the haircut which I usually dread, with Alex, it felt like I was talking to an old friend and the time went by so fast! It's apparent that he loves what he does and he takes pride in his work. I plan on revisiting him in a few months for a trim, which I know my hair will be happy about since I wouldn't usually go back so soon.
