The combo of a medical procedure causing me to lose chunks of my hair + 5 years of intense life changes got this gal out of a salon. In the midst of this time and getting back to me, I knew it could only be, and it was this salon (THANK YOU JILL) that felt safe enough for me to remember that spark. Due to the level of professionalism, skill, pure care, & geniune interest in honoring healthy hair, I held off going anywhere else until I was ready. Thank you to Jill of Salon Xpressions for caring about what you do and how you do it. You are a treasure. You were so patient with me when I'd tear up with how much I missed my salon experience. It was geniully a life goal & healing milestone to get back into that chair and have Jill work her magic. If anyone is able and needing a beauty moment... I wish for you experience such level of skill & care. Thank you, Jill, for helping me feel beautiful and me!!! read more

Toniy has done a fabulous job since day 1.3 years ago I got my very dark brown hair dyed to a blond brown array. She has worked with my hair for 3 years and has never damaged it. I won't go anywhere else. This salon is very cozy, offering water, coffee and snacks upon arrival. The salon is Stand alone and has its own parking lot. read more

I had made a mess to my hair. After bleaching my hair and not liking it I added a black bod dye over it. It faded very bad but thank god Tony was able to help me!! She understood what happened to my hair and was happy to help! I love what I have now and will come back to Tony read more

Salon Xpressions - Hair by Laura Cunha. Amazing! - Hair Salons Near Me - Carmichael, California

Worst hair cut of my life. My own fault.. i thought that the woman who always cut my hair would ask or take notes on my other cuts. I have very thin hair and it needs to be layered to have body. She blunt cut my thin hair so short i looked like a 12 year old page boy with on old face. Straight across. Not even a hint of feminine. Guess thats what i get for not going in often enough. Wil have to find a new hair dresser now. read more

Not only is this little shop totally adorable but the people in it are even better! Everyone was extremely welcoming when I arrived! Laura is the BEST. My hair came out AMAZING. She went above and beyond my expectations! If you are looking for a hairdresser, she is your girl! I will 100% be back. Thanks again Laura! read more

Salon Xpressions - Perfect purple! - Hair Salons Near Me - Carmichael, California

This review has been over 6 months late. But I felt the need to wait until I had multiple experiences as sometimes I find a hair dresser I really like but then the following times I visit, it all goes down hill...this is not the case with Laura C. A bit of history. I have hairdresser PTSD. Over the last 20+ years I have had good hair dressers but mostly not so good. My last few experiences have been not so good...I don't know if I was poorly communicating what I wanted to the hair dressers or what, but they would never do what I wanted them to do. It got to the point that I just resigned myself to coloring my own brassy hair and yes cutting it myself. Not pretty. I would hide my very uneven locks with hot rollers and pony tails, pretending I actually liked my yellow gold hair. But then it got so bad, I knew I needed professional help. I figured I'd go in for the usual cut, then go home and hate it and wait another couple years of ratty hair til I had no choice but to go in again. I was scared and nervous as I combed through reviews on google and yelp. I bookmarked Salon Xpressions because they have photos of their work. There was one hair dresser in particular whose work caught my eye. It was Laura Cunha. But it prob took me a good month til I called. When I did finally call, I made an appointment for a hair cut only as I was not ready to have my hair colored yet as my last few experiences had not been good. I came in all worried but Laura right from the bat was welcoming and didn't make me feel like a moron for hacking my own hair. She listened. I mean really listened to what I wanted. She would cut, then stop, talk to me some more about what I wanted and then cut, then stop to make sure I was comfortable. She did tell me due to my really uneven hair that it would take few hair cuts to get to my goal. I really appreciated her honesty on this. Fast forward a few more visits and I finally get the A-Line bob that I had wanted and she cut it exactly as I asked. I realized when it was done that it wasn't as I thought it would look on me and could she make it less A-Line and she happily did so. That's what I really like about Laura, she works with you. And she doesn't make you feel bad for asking her to fix this or that. Color - so I finally took the leap and asked Laura to do a balayage on my hair. Again, she went over with me exactly what I wanted and what my expectations were and she talks you through it to make sure you are both on the same page. She's very honest about what you can expect with your type of hair and how many visits, levels, etc it will take to reach your goal. Anyway - needless to say I've been seeing Laura for prob 6+ months now. She's the only hair dresser that I have visited that stays consistent. Her quality doesn't go down with each visit. I love, love, love, love my hair and feel that I've been cured of my hairdresser PTSD. I always get compliments on my hair. It's fresh, natural looking and she always fixes it awesome. Thanks Laura! read more

Laura is the best of the best! I've tried other hairdressers for both color and a cut and none of them can even compare. When you go to Laura it's about way more than hair, you even get a complimentary therapy session She's a perfectionist and won't let you leave her chair until both you and her are 100% happy. She's been doing my hair for years, and I will continue to use her! Whenever my friends ask for a hairdresser, she's always the first and ONLY one I recommend. I have followed her to each salon she's been at in over 15 years! She's by far the coolest, most fashionable hair stylist you're going to find! Laura is amazing and will do a fabulous job on your hair. I could have passed for a Hollywood star when she was done with me.

Laura has been doing my hair for the last 8+ years and as long as she's doing hair I won't go anywhere else. She's done my hair for my wedding and most recently my maternity photos and I've loved what she's done each time. Seriously, she is a magician and made my fine, thin hair have volume and look beautiful! In addition to being a wonderful hairstylist she's just an all around great, kind, and thoughtful person. I joke that I'm seriously not her best client (I'm pretty low maintenance and only get my haircut like twice a year) but you'd never know it by the way we interact. Laura genuinely gets to know her clients and wants to ensure that they leave happy. Last but certainly not least I love that she keeps her appointment times. Ever been to that place where you wonder why you even made an appointment if you have to wait 20 minutes after you show up? Yea, that won't happen here. Laura allows enough time for each client, I never feel rushed, and I never have to wait. All around win!! read more
