Love Amanda, she has styled, colored & trimmed my hair for awhile been seeing her since their old shop Upper Cuts in citrus heights they moved from & she always has fun with her hair it's really an art, I have seen blonde, purple, pink & she cares to have a conversation with her customers & takes her time which I appreciate & my hair always comes out evenly when she trims mine my hubby also likes the way they do his hair. I was looking for a new hair stylist and decided to give Studio Blue a try. I'm so glad I did! Jodi was excellent at what she does and was able to achieve the warm gold highlights I asked for. I've had stylists turn my hair more of an ash or white or cut too much off. Jodi did an amazing cut and color for which I received many compliments. Jody and Amanda are friendly, funny and flexible and excel at listening 2 your particular needs. I have silver... okay gray ....hair that tends to try to go brassy and they fix me right up. I have really difficult hair. I mean the thing has a split personality. One side wants to flip this way the other side wants to flip the other way. Some strands are stick straight and others are curly frizzy. UGH!! Some salons I have been to give my hair one look and you can tell they just want me out fast. Not with the ladies at Upper Cuts! Such a friendly atmosphere and they make you feel at home but so very professional in their craft! I can actually go outside without a pony tail or a ball cap smashed on my head. Very creative with ideas about what would look best with your face and hair type. I highly recommend. I travel 45 minutes to get my hair done here. It is worth the miles!! read more

New client, called for a haircut appointment, was assigned "Bobbie" (though I only know her name from looking it up on their website after, as she didn't give me her name on the phone OR introduce herself when I arrived). I arrived a few minutes early and she was still working a client. She did not greet me at all. I sat and waited and she was 15 minutes late getting to me...so I waited 20 mins total. She sat me down, I showed her pics of what I wanted...my hair was dirty (since I expected a wash) and she still sprayed my hair down and cut it dirty. I was gobsmacked because even Supercuts will wash you (they won't dry you) for the same price. Since hair wasn't washed or dried, I didn't get a good idea of the cut until I got home, washed and dried it myself....needless to say, it was a very uneven. Very lopsided (I got a bob and one side it MUCH LONGER than the other). Normally, I would call and give them another shot at fixing it...but I'm honestly too upset about it. I'd rather pay someone else to fix it. Advice: greet customers, give a real consult and ask if someone wants a wash and style before you start the service. Wash and dry is the best way to make sure you've done the right cut. read more

My daughter (9yrs) and I were welcomed in with a comforting smile, open chair, and no wait. This master craftswoman performed wonderful, and precise clips and cuts upon Taylors locks releasing her from the ever growing and knotting weight from above her shoulders. Upon completion of the not so timely task Taylor, full of beauty and life sprung to her feet showing great satisfaction. What an amazing place! They gave me a fast appointment when another stylist "mistakenly" confused the dates on an appointment my 17 year old daughter had made 2 weeks in advanced. Jodi spent almost 3 hours with my daughter taking her from home dyed bleached out mess to gorgeous fuschia pink, blending to dark purple. The amount of compliments she gets are too high to count! I've been going to see Jodi for the last 18 months or so after needing to find a new hairstylist after getting scalped at the shall-not-be-named chain I was going to before. I've followed her to her new shop (which is down the street about 1 1/2 miles down Sunrise at Sunset) and it's an intimate setting - very different than Upper Cuts Salon where all 4 stylists all used to work. The atmosphere there is the same as Upper Cuts - friendly and cheerful - very unlike the chain I was going to which felt like almost like a fast food drive thru. The work they do on hair is top notch. I have a very easy cut and always come out feeling like I should be charged more. Not once did I ever feel like it wasn't just right and more than once I felt like Jodi was done and she'd clip a bit more to make it 110% perfect versus merely 100%. The only thing I would suggest is to call ahead and make an appointment. Last time I went, I had to wait because they were quite busy at the time and I was tight on time. I guess when you're good at what you do, you will have a following. Worth the wait. read more

This is a review about Nataliya Dukhovna skills. I read the opinion of one stylist, that woman looks charming even without makeup, if she has a beautiful well-groomed hair. I think that well-groomed hair needs to have a beautiful professional haircut, In the past I came to the conclusion that the next day stylist`s plan did not represent her work from the previous appointment and I did not expected result. I can share with you that future were crowned with success. I have visited Studio Blue Salon 3 times where Nataliya Dukhovna works, 7932 Sunset Ave., Fair Oaks. Her hair works retains the same style. She shares at a high professional level, plunging fully into the work, to achieve the desired result for the client. Came in for a hair cut a few days ago here and got the job done by a lady with shorter hair who didnt tell me her name and didnt have a name tag. I would never come back here or recommend to anyone to go here. I may as well have gone to super cuts. Hair cut came out super uneven and choppy. read more
