I was quoted $20 for eyebrows and upper lips threading. Saloni's reasoning was that threading is not common in Ann Arbor and therefore the price was justified. Threading is pretty common in 2022. I am from California where I used to pay $13 for both, cost of living obviously being much higher there. Try Hemali's Touch in Canton instead who did both for $10! There are also good Indian restaurants around so you can make a lunch trip out of it. read more

I love that I can easily schedule an appointment by texting her. She responds promptly, and she's very easy to communicate with. She works out of her home, which is conveniently located near Eisenhower and State. Going to her home was a little weird to me at first, but now I appreciate that it feels homey. She has a curtain that she uses to respect the privacy of her customers. She works quickly but carefully. I've never felt like she's rushed through my appointment. I first went to Saloni last May right before graduation with my best friend. I had never tried threading my eyebrows before and wanted to look nice for our big day. Thanks to yelp and her great reviews, I decided to try out Saloni. Her salon is in her basement but it is cozy and professional. There is a nice waiting area with a couch and a few chairs with magazines for you to browse and usually some snacks. There is also a curtain that separates her work area and the waiting area. I've gone back to Saloni since the first time about 5 times and each time she has started on time and took her time on my eyebrows, but was still quick enough so I could keep going on my errands. She was very helpful and friendly when I told her it was my first time, and understands the idea of cleaning up eyebrows but wanting them to still be thick. Her prices are very very reasonable, by far the cheapest I've heard of around Ann Arbor, and even back home. She does accept credit cards, but I don't think you can add a tip on there, so I always try and pay cash. She also has a loyalty card that gives you a stamp for every $10 you spend and $10 off once you get the card full. I went today for another eyebrow threading and she managed to fit me in her very busy day, even though I was a late notice. I cannot praise Saloni enough for her magic with my eyebrows. Go here! Very nice facilities and seems like a very nice person. But I asked for thick eyebrows along with other requests and when shown the result they were very thin! There was nothing I could do but leave in peace. It will take me well over a year to grow back. Add to that: my eyebrows ended up mismatched in thickness! So, will have to correct for that everyday with pencil. I just don't think I could ever recommend. As much as one can enjoy a waxing/ threading experience, then that is how much I enjoyed mine! Saloni was very nice and thoughtful during the appointment. She advised me on how to best grow out my eyebrows for the best look possible. The threading experience was very easy and fast. To those new like I was, it barely hurts (way less than waxing) and it feels to me, like velcro on your face? I also got my first ever bikini wax, and though I definitely can say that I didn't like it at all, she was very fast, gentle, and considerate. She had good tips on how to care for the area after wax. You can tell she sincerely cares about great customer service because from the moment I made my appointment to the time my services ended, Saloni was always professional, courteous and very thoughtful (when she was running behind, she immediately texted me if we could move our appointment). I'm SO glad I found Saloni because I just moved to Ann Arbor and was worried about finding a place solid place that does eyebrow threading. I switched to threading from waxing and tweezing about 1 1/2 years ago and have never looked back since. I also know how difficult it is to find a consistently good but affordable eye brow threader so my experience today was definitely a pleasant surprise. Not only does she have high attention to detail, but the threading was quick, efficient, and painless! My past threading experiences have always stung a bit, but the end result was always worth it. Now I know it never has to sting - you just need to use authentic cotton string from India like Saloni does. Because I have sparse brows to begin with, I was always hesitant about trying out eyebrow threading. Why remove hairs when you don't have much in the first place? I visited Saloni for a facial and, on a whim, added eyebrow threading due to all her good reviews. And I couldn't be happier that I tried out threading with Saloni. She knows exactly what she was doing, and the experience was quick with minimal pain. I was scared that she would remove more hair than what was "necessary," but she removed just the right amount of excess hairs so that my brows actually looked thicker afterwards (in a good way) and had a clean, defined shape. Must add to Saloni's already glowing reviews. As you can see, I don't ever write reviews. But Saloni is so good at what she does, and has been so good to me, that a review is warranted. I really needed a good threading place in Ann Arbor, and Saloni's is it. Do not go to Grateful Dreads. The woman who threads there just isn't as experienced, is slower, it's more painful, and she cuts your eyebrows and upper lip accidentally. Saloni uses authentic cotton thread from India. She doesn't use the cheap stuff. So her threading is PAINLESS. She also listens to what you want. She does my eyebrows exactly as I request them and when I ask for her suggestions, she always provides helpful advice. She tries very hard to accommodate her customers' busy schedules. She has a rewards program. Her prices are UNBEATABLE. I agree that it is great that she uses her own homemade soft wax/sugaring, but if you're going to get waxed down there, use hard wax. It is much less painful. I've been getting waxed down there for 10 years now and I hate that I didn't use hard wax all this time. Now, I'll never go back to soft wax. I stumbled across Saloni's website while researching places in Ann Arbor that offered sugaring instead of conventional waxing. Sugaring is way easier to clean up and it hurts a lot less than waxing.
