I told this is the place to go to get your nails done in the area. I've only been once, however, I did not have to wait for more than 5 minutes both times. I got a acrylic tip fill and they did it in about 45 minutes which is relatively quick and they did a great job, one of the best I've had recently. They are friendly and the space is clean. Not much more too say but all my friends that have also been would all agree/say the same. Will continue to go and recommend. read more

EDITED: I got kicked out of the store because of posting the yelp review while I was inside. Insane how they treat student costumers considering you're on a student campus! I'll be sure to follow up. HORRIBLE experience. My nails were done horribly and the paint was chipping a day after getting them done. They were extremely thick and ugly considering it was $70 for a regular full set. Once I came in about the chip I wanted all of the color off since they probably would all chip over time due to bad application... I thought that made sense. They wanted to charge me $25 for this due to THEIR error. Never will be returning again save your money! read more

Sadly have given this salon a few chances after messy dip nails and many bleeding cuticles, but had blood from yet another cuticle cut literally painted into my dip powder (and dipped in the stock powder) today without attempt to fix, attempt to prorate the appointment, or attempt to keep blood out of products that will be used for other people - so I think that's three strikes for me. Edit: Ownership from the salon did reach out to apologize for the experience and explain that the product which may have been contaminated was removed. I really appreciate gestures from management that clearly care and are making changes, so wanted to share. read more

This used to be my favorite salon, I recently got a full set of acrylic nails. I paid $70 for a plain black set and the nail polish is chipping already. I spoke with the front desk and I was scheduled to get a repair and payed an extra $5 to fix a mistake that was made by the technician, they did not properly cure the nail polish. I went in for the repair, which is now chipping. I have had the set for 2 days. Never got a refund. read more

Worst nail salon experience I've had in years. I've been on the hunt for a new nail salon since my previous ride-or-die nail tech moved out of state. This is now my 4th visit and you couldn't pay me to go back. A real shame considering it's within walking distance of my gym Now onto the events that transpired: Visit 1: I called to see if I could get an appointment for same day and asked how much for a fill and nail art. Was told $35 for the fill, variable for the nail art. The receptionist Bethany was kind and easy to work with. However, the technician was very gruff and drilling way too hard on my thin nails. He was extremely short with me, saying phrases like "give me your hand now" I diffused with a joke "normally one ASKS a lady for their hand" to ease the tension, but my entire body recoiled when he said that as I imagine most people, women especially, would when being demanded in that manner. He also used a colored acrylic powder I absolutely did not authorize or ask for in any way shape or form. The receptionist did honor the price I was quoted on the phone however. Then after the fill, which took far longer than normal, he tells me he doesn't have time for nail art and I have to come back another day. Apparently I should've described in great detail the design so the proper time could be slotted. Ooookay. I let it roll off me, book another spot for the next day with Sally, not terribly upset just mildly inconvenienced. Whatever, I think, it gives me an excuse to have another pleasant 15 minute walk from my gym on a nice day. Visit 2: Smooth, pleasant, Sally is very easy to work with. No complaints here, I'm very happy with the design. 3 days after this visit, 4 days since the fill, I have a nail lift from the first visits poorly done fill. I call to get the nail fixed. After they close for the evening two more of my nails start lifting however they're already closed at the point and I have the first appointment of the day so there is no opportunity to update them. When rebooking my appointment, I specifically ask if they will have time to fix my nail art as well as I had nail art on the 3 nails that lifted. Visit 3: I arrive 10 minutes late, entirely my fault but had given them a heads up. Luckily the salon is empty. The nail tech fixes my 3 nails. As she's getting close to done she tells me "I don't have time to do your nail art today so you'll have to come back another day." There was no attempt to find any alternate solutions that would work for me Yall, this is now the second time IN LESS THAN A WEEK that I've had to "return for nail art." I'm honestly so entirely flabbergasted at this point they're honestly willing to inconvenience me to the level of needing FOUR separate appointments to get ONE set of nails that I requested. This is such a first world problem of course, but I was so actually deeply upset that my time was of no value to them, I absolutely won't be returning. Four visits in one week is incredibly unrealistic and unreasonable to stick customers with. I never rebooked to redo my nail art so I'll be wearing this until I go get a fill at another salon. Paid $80 before tip for all of this. Oh and cherry on top was years and years ago I visited once and was charged $110 for a full set with plain black gel, no nail art. Over 2x of what any other salons were charging at the time. That turned me off for years but gave them another shot and absolutely regretted Here are the current state of my nails after 3 separate visits :) cute but unfinished and absolutely not worth the headache and stress by a mile read more

Been here twice and both times were a great experience. Taylor is thorough and gentle, especially with the cuticle trimming. My classic mani/pedi turned out really well and I plan to be back. Btw, the cleopatra pedi is worth it if you feel like splurging a bit. read more

I was charged $123 for a service that should have been around $40. They admitted it was a mistake--they charged me for another customer's check--but said they had to "get in touch with her" before giving me my money back. It's been days, and I just now got through after being ignored. Why should I have to wait for someone else to pay for their services before I'm refunded for being overcharged? This should have been resolved immediately. Extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. Check your receipts before you leave, clearly they don't know how to handle their own billing mistakes. read more

Came here for the first time as a recommendation from a friend and it was lovely! The ambience is very nice and cute, and the staff are friendly and talented. I came in with a photo of some nail art I was hoping for and Ashley perfectly executed it. I'm OBSESSED with my nails. Nice location close to campus, I'd recommend it to anyone. Standard prices for services, and Venmo tips go right to the nail techs I will definitely be going back for all my nail needs. read more

I had a pedicure and my toenails are shorter on one foot than the other and also my heels were still rough the same as when I came in also my friend had a powder dip and it looked terrible!! I get powder dips often at another salon and it looks like my nails are painted very smooth. my friends nails had a big hump by the cuticle and they weren't smooth I will never go to this salon again!! terrible! read more

Have been here for nails twice now. Katy is fab, and very creative with nail art, but today I had Phoebe who was quite snappy, ignored me and talked to another manicurist throughout, would not attempt the original French tips I asked for, and didn't appreciate me pointing out when she made a mistake. Maybe she was just having a bad day? I had Camilla do my lash and brow tint, and she was lovely, gentle and chatty. The guy on reception was very sweet to everyone too. I still rate the other location over this one, but Katy and Camilla are definitely talented and worth an appointment. read more

I love having my nails done here! Katy is my favorite tech. She does a great job making my nails strong without being too thick. My last acrylic gel manicure lasted for more than four weeks! She is also AMAZING at french tip and makes it look so natural. Definitely go here and go to Katy! read more

Got a full set and they were lifting by the next day. One nail popped off so easily while I was going about my day that I didn't even notice it. I regularly get my nails done so I understand how to take care of them, these were just poorly done. The price you see when booking an appointment is never close to the price you end up paying. I paid $70 before tipping and honestly they weren't even worth $35. Save your money and find a specific nail artist you like and trust. Or honestly $8 at a drugstore near you and get you some press ons that'll stay intact longer. The only positive was its location. Cleanliness isn't a reason for another star as an establishment should be clean regardless. Literally look at the set in the photo??? Like what? My friend told me she thought I did them myself and it was pretty good for my first try... read more

I get my nails done every month, full acrylic sets every time and often don't care about the reviews of a place because I know exactly how to tell the person what to do to get my desired look. I noticed the horrible reviews on this place, but thought I would try it because it was the only nail salon walkable from campus. I made my appointment about ab hour beforehand and they were able to get me in which was nice (little did I know this was because they don't have any clients!) I arrive on time and am greeting my the receptionist who is literally 8 years old.... Kidding but she could not have been older than 12. There was only one lady doing nails and she did not even look up at me. She was still in the middle of the appointment she was currently doing and would not be able yo get to me for at least 15-20 mins... even though I had made an appointment and was on time... Regardless, I tried to be optimistic and sat down to wait. The little girl receptionist gave me "color options" which was nice but I kid you not, there were a total of like 6 colors to pick from. I didn't like any of them. As I sat waiting I started to sweat bc the place was BOILING hot. Then, starting to get annoyed, I checked they're reviews and this time, reading them more closely... I realized I needed to leave. I got up and told the little girl I had a class to get to and needed to reschedule my appointment for another time (even though I obviously just wanted to leave). And instead of apologizing that I had been waiting for over 10 minutes when I had SCHEDULED ahead of time this appointment, SHE TELLS ME I HAVE TO PAY A "RESCHEDULING" FEE..... I'm like... ummmmmm listen little girl you don't have my credit card information... I'm walking out of this place right now bye! Worst experience ever. This place is a joke. I LOVED my graduation make-up, pedicure, eyebrow wax, and eyelash extension! I was super cautious about coming here (with COVID and concerns about health) but Bee Q Spa set up precautions (temperature check, barriers, masks, and 6 feet spacing) and was thoughtful every step of the way. I definitely recommend coming here because the staff, especially Sonca (Camilla), are so nice! Camilla did my make-up for Graduation Pictures and it was PERFECT and exactly what I wanted (picture attached - the quality was messed up from Yelp yikes). read more

Really disappointed. The gel is lifting from all my nails after only a few days. Hasn't even been a week. I haven't even touched them and they're all coming off. I have never had shellac lift off my nails after only 2-3 days. Not worth the $$ if shellac last as long as a regular manicure. read more

I don't recommend this place because the service is inconsistent and disappointing. When I first requested a design for my shellac manicure, they told me it would cost $10, and then they changed it to $15. The floral design that I showed them and the one I received were also nothing alike (the one with purple French tips is what I showed them and the one with pink is what I received), and I wish they'd let me know beforehand if the design I chose couldn't be done. What's worse, the nail tech filed my little finger until it bled, and even though I got nervous and asked her to stop three times, she continued to file directly into the wound. Then, I asked her if I could wash my hands, but instead, she sprayed alcohol directly into it without asking me, which stung a lot. She only gave me a cotton ball to stop the bleeding when I asked and even painted over the cut, which stung even more, and I wish I'd just stopped the appointment. When I reached out to management, they didn't issue a refund, which is whatever, but they also didn't apologize. This is the second negative experience I have had at BeeQ Downtown, the first time being when the nail tech left without saying a word to me after painting my nails. I sat there ?? until another nail tech said I could leave after drying my nails for another ten minutes, but even then, they became smudged when I inspected them outside the salon because they hadn't completely dried. read more

I had a wonderful Experience here. I showed up to my appointment, and requested to add on a few services day of. The ladies there were more than accommodating and helped me decIde what I could do on a tight time schedule. I was in a bit of a time crunch, and I manageD to be in and out within 45 mins for an eyebrow wax and shellac polish change. The Manicure itself was precise, clean, and well done. Janie checked in with me to ask if I wanted have more opaque vs. thicker gel, and I really appreciated that. I will definitely be back! read more

not a good nail service at all. I got dip with tips and there was no attention to my cuticles what so ever even when I asked because I hadn't gotten a manicure in a while. I was willing to pay the extra 10 dollars and the manicurist said she doesn't think I need it. The shape of the nails were uneven and I didn't even get the shape I asked for. I asked for oval and she gave me almond. Overall bad service and it seemed like she was doing the nails she wanted not the nails I wanted. when my pedicure was being done there was no real attention to the nails just to the polish and I saw her switch tools with another lady which is very unsanitary. Also she was talking on the phone the whole time. very unprofessional service and overall it did not seem like a hygienic place. Would not recommend!!! read more

Just got my eyebrows done here! It was super easy to make an appointment and they were very clean and covid cautious. My results were great and I would definitely go back. However, if I were to get more services done, I would consider going elsewhere because it is a little bit overpriced, especially for college students -- which is probably their main clientele. read more

Made an appointment to get an acrylic fill done. Got there a few minutes late from parking problems and when I arrived they weren't ready for me anyways. I saw the bad reviews and thought I'd give it a try, and I have regrets about it now. I didn't sit down for 20-25 minutes after my appointment started. When I did get a chair, she began by gluing the old nail down with so much glue it stuck my skin to my nail and was burning through the whole process. During the fill she nicked me a few times, and the nail itself is a poor shape, uneven, thick, and uncomfortable. I asked her to fix two and she tried for a moment before saying they were fine. I have glue (I'm not sure how) all over my palm and fingers. I'm probably going to get them removed and go somewhere else. The only reason they get two stars is it seemed cleanly. I've been getting acrylics for over 8 years now, and this is no where near a $55 fill. read more

Really beautiful inside. Manicure turned out okay. Only one manicurist for three customers. I looked at the website for their other location assuming the prices would be the same, but instead of being $20 for a manicure like the other location, it was $25. And maybe it's because they just opened, but not a lot of non-shellac colors to choose from. Overall, I had higher hopes for a place that just opened. I will maybe try other location next time. read more

my friend went to beeq and got acrylic nails done. she asked to change the color and the manicurist got annoyed. then, he started putting top coat on nails that he had already put it on. she asked him if he was supposed to do it twice, and he got angry and started smearing the top coat all over her hands. then she said "what are you doing" and he got angry and stood up and said to his coworker "you can take the bitch". absolutely unacceptable service. this was a very unreal experience, especially for the price paid. never coming back here again. read more

I've been more than satisfied with the services and Camilla is a wonderful person. She really cares about her clients and stays up to date with the best products and techniques. This was the worst waxing experience I have ever had. I left feeling horrified and extremely angered. I had an appointment for a Brazilian Wax. The technician did not sanitize the area before waxing (I.e. baby powder or other sanitation methods). The waxing was aggressive and more painful than I've ever experienced. (I have gotten at least 20+ waxes). In the middle of the session the technical pulled the strip and caused me to start bleeding. We had to stop the appointment to mitigate the bleeding. We finished the session and I left completely bruised (purple/yellow) on the waxed area. The technician didn't stay to clean the wax, she left me pads with oil to clean myself. I would not recommend this place - please do your research beforehand to avoid my mistakes! read more

I've actually booked 15 minutes before a cut because I was desperate and they had plenty of availabilities, but they do recommend you reschedule 24 hours in advance. I'm extremely impressed with the friendliness, service, and atmosphere here. It is clean and modern, smells good, and has a comfy waiting area. Because the stylists are in school, they have a supervisor check the cuts to make sure you like them at the end which is something I appreciate. Prices are extremely affordable- $18 includes a cut, wash, condition, and style. If you are a student and show your ID, it's an extra 10% off. There's also is no option to tip, although I did ask about one. Will be taking advantage of my student status as long as I can, but still, $18 is hard to beat!

The tech used an efile to tear up my nail beds and then buffed them out anyway. This seemed to be a substitute for actually cleaning the old regular nail polish off. The nail polish application was sloppy with the tech applying way too much for each layer. No base coat was used, so my nail beds will be stained now. This tech applied the polish like it's gel and not like it's ordinary nail polish that needs to air dry. It's got bubbles and streaks and is cracking where the top doesn't quite cover the color. Especially strange was that I was asked to pay and tip before my service was finished. I won't be going back and I wouldn't recommend.

I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered BeeQ, as I had been looking for a salon downtown for ages. The location is perfect and more importantly, walkable. The salon itself was extremely clean and aesthetic with a relaxing ambience. Sally did dip powder and nail art for me and my experience with her is by far the best I've ever had. Immediately, she was super kind, chatty and accommodating, and made an effort to communicate with me prior to the appointment about what type of design I'd like. At the appointment, she spent a large chunk of time prepping and shaping the nails to ensure longevity, asking along the way if I was happy with it. The actual dip powder looked ended up looking fantastic and completely blended in with my cuticle; the nail art was great as well. I got a full acrylic set, and he paid such close attention to detail and listened to my questions and requests, which I appreciated so much because I got a bit more of a complicated design. He recorded me doing my nails (which I was completely fine with), and it didn't interfere with his service or how my nails turned out. He told me after that he likes to post pictures and videos on his Instagram, and when I went to follow it I was so impressed (@tuannnails_02)! Katy is definitely the best manicurist i have ever had! i've been a monthly client of hers since december and i'm always satisfied when i leave. she is very pleasant to talk with and has so many stories about living in maryland that she'll share with you! I had a fantastic nail service with Katy, but my experience was overshadowed by the manager's poor handling of a client's ATM issue. The manager seemed uninterested in helping, gaslighted the client about the machine, and the client left without money and was still charged for nails. The manager's lack of skills and care left the client in tears and overwhelmed. My advice: avoid using the ATM - it might not work, the salon won't refund your money, and the manager staff has poor customer service skills. read more

The first place that I went to did not take walk-ins, so I went to New York Nails, the next place that I passed. The employee there immediately welcomed me and got to work removing the stubborn polish. About 10 minutes later it was all removed, and my nails looked fantastic and bare. It was a reasonable $10, which was much less than I had spent on my DIY removal misadventure. My many thanks to this place for fitting me right in and helping me out!

I was greeted right away and the tech was available within a few minutes. The front was very clean and tidy. Things went downhill after that. The work station of the tech who did my nails was filthy - covered with dusty and crust. The longer I sat there, the more I saw and the more frustrated I felt. Tools like nippers for cuticles seemed to have been used on other customers with old cuticle on them. I'm so embarrassed that I didn't get up and leave. The tech used an efile to tear up my nail beds and then buffed them out anyway. This seemed to be a substitute for actually cleaning the old regular nail polish off. The nail polish application was sloppy with the tech applying way too much for each layer. No base coat was used, so my nail beds will be stained now. This tech applied the polish like it's gel and not like it's ordinary nail polish that needs to air dry. It's got bubbles and streaks and is cracking where the top doesn't quite cover the color. Especially strange was that I was asked to pay and tip before my service was finished. I won't be going back and I wouldn't recommend.
