Everything looked enticing, from the herbal soaks to the massages. I decided on a massage and waited anxiously for my appointment. Tucked away in a place that you could miss if you didn't know to look for it, the simple and luxurious interior was a world away from the busy street that it sits on. I was warmly welcomed when I walked in and quickly slipped off my boots and into some comfy slide sandals. After a quick intake, my masseuse allowed me to slip under the drape onto the toasty table. Just over an hour later, I was kneaded into a relaxed state and I floated back out int the real world. Treat yourself to something new and special and stop into Jessica's Apothecary. I hope you'll find it just as great of a tonic as I did!

I'm typically pretty low maintenance with my brows (especially since I started working from home in 2020...) but will go see Sarah when I want to look more presentable and put together before a nice event or trip or something. Her process for brow shaping is so detailed, gentle, and precise. For the most part, she tweezes hairs individually. Not sure what products she's using throughout the process, but it's very soothing. She also takes great care to provide a clean and hygienic experience as well. The shop itself is small but beautiful and she stocks great brow, makeup, supplements, and other products. Her own line of brow gel is great! It is on the higher end of pricing for brow shaping, but I do believe the price reflects the whole experience she creates. She's also just super sweet and fun to talk to every time!

I do plan to come tomorrow for my appointment! I have my kids and tried calling for permission I just wish she answered phone more!

Prior to going into the spa room for my facial I had to fill out a form where they asked if I had any allergies, any sensitivity to certain products, etc. I really appreciated the form seeing as I have a few allergies to a couple different items. I received a Vitamin C facial with Victoria and I have to say it was fantastic. Entering the lavender styled room, I was immediately relaxed. The facial lasts an hour and by the time it ended I truly felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. I highly recommend Bellanina Day Spa if your looking for a relaxation getaway! Today, I never saw an instructor. This has never happened before. Normally, once you do the initial consult with your STUDENT stylist, they get the Supervising Instructor to approve the plan. After the hair is cut, the Supervising Instructor comes and does a final check for approval and signs off. Even if the person is graduating that week or the next day, an instructor has ALWAYS checked it out. Today when the student went to get the instructor both times, the instructor didn't bother to come anywhere near me. I don't even know if they were present on the floor. The student tried to uncomfortabley shrug it off, but it was awkward. The last couple of times I've gone, when the supervising instructor has come, it's been obvious that she wasn't invested or interested and that it was a bother. I've never before this last year or so had any issue to be concerned but there is definitely a lack of professionalism and standard of care being modeled by these newer instructors. It's rather sad. I have always loved getting my hair and other services done here and I'm hoping it will return to the standards they once had.

Both times my hair has received excellent care! At my first appointment, she spent close to half an hour trimming all my dead ends off and helping me start fresh with me on my hair journey. I can now say she is at her own salon in Briarwood mall! My second stylist (about a year and a half later) helped trim me up again and decided to style my natural wavy hair (I normally straighten it every day because I don't know how to style it curly). She walked me through the process and it turned out great. She told me she had about a month left of her program and graduates in November! Booking online is super easy and I've never had trouble making an appointment or rescheduling. I've actually booked 15 minutes before a cut because I was desperate and they had plenty of availabilities, but they do recommend you reschedule 24 hours in advance. I'm extremely impressed with the friendliness, service, and atmosphere here. It is clean and modern, smells good, and has a comfy waiting area. Because the stylists are in school, they have a supervisor check the cuts to make sure you like them at the end which is something I appreciate. Prices are extremely affordable- $18 includes a cut, wash, condition, and style. If you are a student and show your ID, it's an extra 10% off. There's also is no option to tip, although I did ask about one. Will be taking advantage of my student status as long as I can, but still, $18 is hard to beat!
