I've been seeing Sarah semi-sporadically for years for my brows, and she provides an exceptional brow experience! I'm typically pretty low maintenance with my brows (especially since I started working from home in 2020...) but will go see Sarah when I want to look more presentable and put together before a nice event or trip or something. Her process for brow shaping is so detailed, gentle, and precise. For the most part, she tweezes hairs individually. Not sure what products she's using throughout the process, but it's very soothing. She also takes great care to provide a clean and hygienic experience as well. The shop itself is small but beautiful and she stocks great brow, makeup, supplements, and other products. Her own line of brow gel is great! It is on the higher end of pricing for brow shaping, but I do believe the price reflects the whole experience she creates. So I love the brow bar. I try to come consistently I'm not sure Sarah really knows who I am each time but she's kind and makes me comfortable. She does an excellent job. I also have kids and she has allowed me to bring my daughter without giving me a hard time which I know is really against the shop rules but as a mom I do appreciate her allowing me to still get self care. I had a lash and tint on this Friday with Brian. I really felt like they came out looking great!! I think Brian was experienced and friendly, and was careful too. I think it's a very natural look and I went without mascara today and felt like it was better than just mascara and curling with a normal eyelash curler. The pricing was fair and average in my experience ($120). Usually tints last about 4 weeks and lifts up to 8 weeks from what I understand. You want to be careful to not rub your eyes and don't wash them for 24hr+ (some recommend 48). I'd also say that limited friction to the lashes (eg when sleeping, gross eye feels, etc.) are probably a good idea and something to be mindful of and hard to be mindful of haha Overall I enjoyed the experience, my first one getting a lift and only second getting a tint and I love the results! Definitely will return next time I'm visiting in Michigan. read more

This brow bar is a very pleasing aesthetics. The interior is so modern and clean it just wants you to get your brow or eyelash extensions done. I personally never got them done but always came in to support my friends who got them done here. The Stylists are very friendly and makes sure you are satisfied with the outcome. They take their time and provide that focused one on one appointment. The place is small but they make the best use of the space. I feel like it is definitely at the higher priced places to get stuff done but my friends are very satisfied with their eyebrows or eyelashes. I am currently deciding if it is worth to get something done like that but I do decide to go for it...I will probably go here. Overall really recommend this place! I had individual eyelash extensions applied here and it was the worst and most expensive application I've ever had. I paid nearly $300 for a job that was worth $60. The process was smooth and comfortable and they looked great immediately after. However, lashes started falling off one day after the application. The technician put too much glue on the lash and as a result there was a small bulb at the base of each lash that I could feel on my lower eyelid. On top of this, she used cheap faux hair eyelash extensions. I was going for a natural mascara look and ended up with thick dramatic ones. I will not be returning and I do not recommend getting individual eyelash extensions here. Save your money and go to lashpass, who can be found on Instagram. Update to owner who replied. The fact that you would even try to discredit my review by insinuating that I falsified my review is unprofessional in itself. The proof is in the pudding. read more

Just moved to A2 for college from the DFW area and I needed a lash tech and I'm so glad I found this place and Lamah! She's a great lash tech and she has such a soothing voice. The prices are super fair for lash extensions and it's a super comfortable environment. I came in with classic extensions from back in Texas and Lamah was able to build off of my previous tech's work easily so I didn't have to end up getting a whole new set. She's also been super accommodating if I have extra shedding by letting me stay for an extra fifteen minutes to help get me to the level of fullness desired. This is probably the worst customer service experience I've had in a very long time! I went to Brow Bar 3 weeks ago had my lashes done by a girl who was in town from New Jersey, my lashes looked amazing, Ali did a great job! The downside was they were 20 minutes late starting my appointment causing me to be late for an event. I scheduled a fill for my lashes for two weeks later, after waiting for 10 minutes and a worker texting the woman who was supposed to do my lashes, I was told I could leave if I wanted to... I am the maid of honor in a wedding tomorrow, it's not helpful to not have my lashes done. the woman working didn't appear to care at all or offer a good solution to reschedule for later in the day or perhaps first thing in the morning. She was useless not helpful at all and completely unprofessional. 20 minutes late to start the first appointment, no one there to do the second appointment!! I'm not quite sure how this place is still in business. If you have places to be or a life or somewhere else that doesn't involve sitting at the Brow Bar I recommend going somewhere else to get your lashes or eyebrows done! read more

My first time experience at The Brow Bar in Kerrytown was absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sarah. To start with the location, the shop is so nice and clean and very modern. Sitting down to get the brow service is so peaceful and comfortable. First time went well. Second time the technician told me I shouldn't tweeze my eyebrows because there are a bunch of small broken hairs. The tint and lamination definitely didn't look as full as the first time. Then I noticed my brow hairs looked fried, then they eventually started falling out. I was extremely disappointed when I showed up and the person that did my lashes was a trainee. I had not been notified about this in advance nor was I given a discount because of it. I've been going to Sarah for years now. She's a talented professional and still the only person I will let touch my brows. She's friendly and welcoming. She does beautiful, meticulous work unlike anything else you can get in the area. I leave her bar and literally turn heads. I look younger and better in pictures. She is by appointment only so book ahead, and it's definitely worth the wait. She has always shaped my brows into a flattering and natural look that improves my face. I'm not one to review, and I understand that with any cosmetic change there is an adjustment period to a new look, but even 7 days later I hated looking in the mirror. This also wouldn't cause me to write a review since I was the one who made the decision to tint very light eyebrows darker knowing there would be a big change, but the lack of interaction and personalization during my appointment really threw me off. I had never gotten my brows shaped or tinted before, something I tried to communicate. However, the technician never introduced herself or asked my name, she told me to sit down and then just did my brows. Intimidated by the whole situation, I went with it and trusted the professional. Exactly what I feared would happen, happened. My brows were far too dark and the shaping and size didn't even make sense for my face structure. These were details I thought we would talk through at the beginning of the appointment. "Custom blended brow tint"- did not seem so custom. I walked into my apartment and my friends automatically sat me down to reshape and fix the tint, they were also in shock any professional would let me leave her salon looking like that! The customer service was awful, not to mention the insane price. My friends are in charge of my brows from now on lol, at least they communicate with me. From what I've heard, this place is great if you are want to spend money and have had previous experiences with these services. read more

I came here to get some advice on my brows and a tint/shaping. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The woman did not introduce herself and barely looked up from her phone, let alone look at my brows. My brows have been thinning and I came here to get some suggestions. While I appreciate she did not take my money, I also got the impression she did not want to service me, which made me feel uncomfortable and very unwelcome. Extremely disappointed with my experience at The Brow Bar. I went in to get a lash lift, this was my first time getting one, which I shared with them. I paid $120 ($140 with tip) and my lashes stick straight out, they are not lifted at all. I honestly can't tell the difference between when I walked and when I left. I called after my appointment to share my concerns and was shocked with their complete lack of care or concern. I was told I could come back and pay for the service again and that I should 'ask for different rods' next time. They did not apologize nor offer to correct the lift (or lack there of). I ended the call by sharing that I was not comfortable going back and would be finding somewhere else to go, I was told 'that's fine'. They were very nice during my appointment, which is why I am giving them two stars instead of one. I would highly recommend staying away from this business. read more

I seem to be the only person who didn't have a stellar experience here, which makes my disappointment even stronger. I went for a brow tint and trim. The tint is way too dark. I am quite fair and came in with no makeup on; I'm surprised Sarah opted to go this dark on me, and I will be eagerly awaiting the color to fade. I even went home and applied makeup to see if the brows could be evened out with more definition, but they still are far too strong, even with a full face. The trim is fine, it looks good, but it's so subtle to the point of hardly noticing the change. My eyebrows aren't very thick or unruly so maybe my expectations were too high, but this was a really expensive service for hardly unchanged brow shape and color that makes me feel sad every time I look in the mirror. read more

Let me start by saying, Sarah West is a brow magician! I'm not blessed with very distinct brows and from what I've learned eyebrows are like the curtains to your face - they give you expression, boost and define your face so it's important to keep them up. After reaching out to Sarah for help, she came along and turned on her brow magic! During her process, she informed me of the products she was using and why. One thing she used was her natural eye and face oil. It's simple and luxurious without being too heavy. Just a few dabs and I felt like a million bucks! I was completely calm and relaxed and before I knew it, she was finished. The end result was nothing like I had ever seen - my brows went from weak to chic! Full, natural and present! After that first treatment with Sarah, I knew my brows were in good hands! I had to see her again. I've gone to her every time for brow and lash treatments and for the eye oil (can't live without the stuff). I haven't seen anyone else since. Only thing is that she has clients all over the world and not all can make it to her studio. So you have to catch her when you can! read more
