I've been seeing Sarah semi-sporadically for years for my brows, and she provides an exceptional brow experience! I'm typically pretty low maintenance with my brows (especially since I started working from home in 2020...) but will go see Sarah when I want to look more presentable and put together before a nice event or trip or something. Her process for brow shaping is so detailed, gentle, and precise. For the most part, she tweezes hairs individually. Not sure what products she's using throughout the process, but it's very soothing. She also takes great care to provide a clean and hygienic experience as well. The shop itself is small but beautiful and she stocks great brow, makeup, supplements, and other products. Her own line of brow gel is great! It is on the higher end of pricing for brow shaping, but I do believe the price reflects the whole experience she creates. She's also just super sweet and fun to talk to every time! read more

So I love the brow bar. I try to come consistently I'm not sure Sarah really knows who I am each time but she's kind and makes me comfortable. She does an excellent job. I also have kids and she has allowed me to bring my daughter without giving me a hard time which I know is really against the shop rules but as a mom I do appreciate her allowing me to still get self care. I do plan to come tomorrow for my appointment! I have my kids and tried calling for permission I just wish she answered phone more! read more

I had a lash and tint on this Friday with Brian. I really felt like they came out looking great!! I think Brian was experienced and friendly, and was careful too. I think it's a very natural look and I went without mascara today and felt like it was better than just mascara and curling with a normal eyelash curler. The pricing was fair and average in my experience ($120). Usually tints last about 4 weeks and lifts up to 8 weeks from what I understand. You want to be careful to not rub your eyes and don't wash them for 24hr+ (some recommend 48). I'd also say that limited friction to the lashes (eg when sleeping, gross eye feels, etc.) are probably a good idea and something to be mindful of and hard to be mindful of haha Overall I enjoyed the experience, my first one getting a lift and only second getting a tint and I love the results! Definitely will return next time I'm visiting in Michigan. read more

I have gone to the Brow Bar for several years for eyebrow shaping and tinting. Sarah is highly skilled and does a fantastic job every time. Her studio also has a shop that includes a nicely curated selection of makeup, soaps, vintage textiles from Central America, jewelry, contemporary textiles, bags, and vintage clothes. I always find lovely gifts there as well. read more

Sarah knows her trade for sure. Excellent & fast. First time guest and will return. I am super pleased with my new brow look!

Very cold, rude and inhospitable. Went in today and was rudely greeted and spoken to in such a condescending way I couldn't believe

This brow bar is a very pleasing aesthetics. The interior is so modern and clean it just wants you to get your brow or eyelash extensions done. I personally never got them done but always came in to support my friends who got them done here. The Stylists are very friendly and makes sure you are satisfied with the outcome. They take their time and provide that focused one on one appointment. The place is small but they make the best use of the space. I feel like it is definitely at the higher priced places to get stuff done but my friends are very satisfied with their eyebrows or eyelashes. I am currently deciding if it is worth to get something done like that but I do decide to go for it...I will probably go here. Overall really recommend this place! Tip: refrain from wearing makeup because they have to take it off anyways and it wastes time! Time is money!! read more

The Brow Bar - They also sell clothes! - Makeup Artists Near Me - Ann Arbor, Michigan

I had individual eyelash extensions applied here and it was the worst and most expensive application I've ever had. I paid nearly $300 for a job that was worth $60. The process was smooth and comfortable and they looked great immediately after. However, lashes started falling off one day after the application. The technician put too much glue on the lash and as a result there was a small bulb at the base of each lash that I could feel on my lower eyelid. On top of this, she used cheap faux hair eyelash extensions. I was going for a natural mascara look and ended up with thick dramatic ones. I will not be returning and I do not recommend getting individual eyelash extensions here. Save your money and go to lashpass, who can be found on Instagram. Update to owner who replied. The fact that you would even try to discredit my review by insinuating that I falsified my review is unprofessional in itself. The proof is in the pudding. read more

Just moved to A2 for college from the DFW area and I needed a lash tech and I'm so glad I found this place and Lamah! She's a great lash tech and she has such a soothing voice. The prices are super fair for lash extensions and it's a super comfortable environment. I came in with classic extensions from back in Texas and Lamah was able to build off of my previous tech's work easily so I didn't have to end up getting a whole new set. She's also been super accommodating if I have extra shedding by letting me stay for an extra fifteen minutes to help get me to the level of fullness desired. Overall, she's an awesome tech and if you have any desire to start lash extensions you should totally check this place out for a consultation! read more

The Brow Bar - My lashes right after my first fill - Classic single extensions - Makeup Artists Near Me - Ann Arbor, Michigan

I had eyelash extensions done here in the past and it was the first and last time I will go to this place. I was extremely disappointed when I showed up and the person that did my lashes was a trainee. I had not been notified about this in advance nor was I given a discount because of it. The person that did my lashes had a lot to learn and I was not happy with the procedure, there was so much glue they were so uncomfortable to have on. I could not wait for them to come off. read more

HANNAH! HANNAH BUTLER! I'm so bad. I called Hannah, Heather in my previous review and I'm so sorry. Hannah is the stellar makeup artist that I saw for the first time for my son's wedding. My Director saw me that day and so impressed with her work, hires Hannah to come to the Graduate to do all our makeup before her retirement party. I can not recommend Hannah Butler enough. She's so sweet, engaging, and talented. Hannah went with the flow when everyone was a bit crazy getting ready and packed into a suite. She made all of us look fabulous, before moving to the next station for hair. Hannah supplies everything or will use your favorite items if you prefer. She's clean and happy to give great tips if you have any questions. She was a pleasure the first time, second time and I will surely use her services again and again. read more

This is probably the worst customer service experience I've had in a very long time! I went to Brow Bar 3 weeks ago had my lashes done by a girl who was in town from New Jersey, my lashes looked amazing, Ali did a great job! The downside was they were 20 minutes late starting my appointment causing me to be late for an event. I scheduled a fill for my lashes for two weeks later, after waiting for 10 minutes and a worker texting the woman who was supposed to do my lashes, I was told I could leave if I wanted to... I am the maid of honor in a wedding tomorrow, it's not helpful to not have my lashes done. the woman working didn't appear to care at all or offer a good solution to reschedule for later in the day or perhaps first thing in the morning. She was useless not helpful at all and completely unprofessional. 20 minutes late to start the first appointment, no one there to do the second appointment!! I'm not quite sure how this place is still in business. If you have places to be or a life or somewhere else that doesn't involve sitting at the Brow Bar I recommend going somewhere else to get your lashes or eyebrows done! read more

My first time experience at The Brow Bar in Kerrytown was absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sarah. To start with the location, the shop is so nice and clean and very modern. Sitting down to get the brow service is so peaceful and comfortable. Sarah explains everything so thoroughly and visibly shows you every step of the way. Her knowledge when it comes to brows is astonishing. I let my brows go untouched for the recommended time for the best results. I got a tweeze and tint with very light waxing. Sarah explained which parts of my brow need to be left alone for future growth. She left me with beautiful full shaped brows that will only get better with time. The attention to detail and perfect amount of small talk made this experience well worth the price. I cannot wait to be back and continue my brow growth journey! read more

Sarah recommends newcomers to wait 6-8 weeks before your eyebrow appointment. I think that's a really important step, and the patience paid off. For years, I didn't let any one near my eyebrows. Now, Sarah might be the only one allowed to do them! Very professional, masterful, and magical even. Give this place a try! A total Ann Arbor gem. read more

First time went well. Second time the technician told me I shouldn't tweeze my eyebrows because there are a bunch of small broken hairs. The tint and lamination definitely didn't look as full as the first time. Then I noticed my brow hairs looked fried, then they eventually started falling out. So turns out the reason my hairs were broken was because of the lamination gone bad. I am now missing half an eyebrow lol... read more

I've been going to Sarah for years now. She's a talented professional and still the only person I will let touch my brows. She's friendly and welcoming. She does beautiful, meticulous work unlike anything else you can get in the area. I leave her bar and literally turn heads. I look younger and better in pictures. She is by appointment only so book ahead, and it's definitely worth the wait. She has always shaped my brows into a flattering and natural look that improves my face. Many people I know see her because of her skill and their brows always look amazing. She also has carefully chosen, thoughtful, and lovely items for sale at her store. The pillows and tops are beautiful and handwoven in Guatemala. Some of my favorite products are the brow pencil with included brush by Kimiko beauty and the Sachajuan Ocean Mist spray for the hair. read more

I would give this place, and Sarah, even more stars if I could! She is just amazing both as a person and at brows. I have been growing my eyebrows out after being guilty of years of over plucking and, thanks to Sarah, they have looked pretty amazing through this awkward phase. The locale is clean, peaceful, relaxing and easy to get to. Appointments are easy to schedule (online) and change if needed. Sarah listens to what you want and the results are amazing! Highly recommend to anyone looking for beautiful brows and A++++ service read more

I've been going to the Brow Bar when it was just one room. Amazing services and the staff is the best ... and they find me entertaining. My brows have recovered from the "skinny brows of the 90's" and from some bad threading thanks to to wonderful staff!! And this new location is freaking beautiful. I'm looking forward to my upcoming Hydrafacial in a few weeks and all other facials I've had have improved my skin. If u haven't been why not!?!?! Love the Brow Bar!! read more

I can't say enough about Sarah and how amazing she is at brows! She is honestly the best in town! She has salvaged my brows in which I never knew could be possible. I considered even micro blading but no need now, I got my brows back. And almost as full as they where pre baby! She is so great at her craft and worth every penny! Thank you! read more

I've been going to Sarah for my brows ever since I moved to Michigan from Los Angeles. Sarah has impeccable attention to detail and is an artist who always ensures that my brows look symmetrical and well groomed (not thin and over plucked with severe arches that make you constantly appear surprised). My brows look so much better now that I go to Sarah and I've received so many compliments since going to her. No, it's not cheap but it's an excellent value and brows really do frame the face. Great brows shaped by Sarah will not only make you look younger but will also let you get away with wearing less makeup. read more

I came to The Brow Bar 5 months before my wedding. My brows were over-plucked and sad. Sarah had me grow my brows for 8 weeks before she would even touch them and then wait another 8 weeks until she did them again. My brows looked PERFECT for my wedding. Unfortunately after my wedding I made the decision to go elsewhere in order to save some money - bad idea!! I am heartbroken at the way my brows look now. I am currently growing them again so I can return to Sarah. She is a brow goddess and I recommend her to everyone! read more

I visited The Brow Bar for a tint and tweeze and love the results. My eyes look brighter and the custom tint was a perfect match. Sarah is my trusted expert for not only brows but all things beauty. The growth serum she recommended to me has boosted my brow thickness and lash length. Her training with one of LA's top brow specialists shows. Sarah works in LA and Ann Arbor, but always works with my schedule. The experience at The Brow Bar is tranquil, high end, and pure perfection! read more

The Brow Bar - The magic chair. - Makeup Artists Near Me - Ann Arbor, Michigan

Came in as a walk-in. Waited 5 min as I watched her talked to a bystander. Then she asked if I had an appointment. I said no. She turned me away without even attempting to squeeze me in. Not considerate. Go to Saloni, she does a good job and is more kind and professional than the lady running this place. read more

I have only fantastic things to say about Sarah and the Brow Bar. I have Yelp to thank for finding this hidden gem almost two years ago. Since then, I've told everyone I know about Sarah. The booking process is online and super easy and convenient. I've gone here for a brow tweeze and tint, but would trust her with any service. She is extremely knowledgable about her field and is always sharing advice, tips and new products. So happy I found this place! read more

Best kept secret in Ann Arbor. Sarah is amazing!!! Had the tint and tweeze and was pretty blown away. I had over-tweezed my brows in my teenage years and because of this, I never had the full brows that I've always wanted. Sarah transformed them into these amazing shapes that I thought I'll never have. She also showed me how to maintain them at home. She's super chill, patient and knows exactly what brow shapes are best for your face shape. Now I trust her fully to do my brows and no one else! read more

Amazing eyebrow service. Very friendly and a great location. I got a tint and tweeze and will absolutely be back!

Sarah is amazing and a master of her art. She was able to transform my brows and help them during the awkward "grow out" phase from my yester-years of the 90's over-tweezing era; not only did she color, shape and define them during each stage, but she also provided useful tips and advice on how to apply make up, and what products to use. The salon it's self is very clean, modern, hip, open, and welcoming. You'll leave Sarah's chair feeling a like a brand new person! read more

Had my eyebrows shaped and tinted by the lovely Sarah of the Brow Bar. What a find! First of all Sarah could not be more attentive and responsive. Sarah is soo amazing at what she does. I've been getting my eyebrows done since I was 12 years old and Sarah is without a doubt the best person I've ever seen. So glad I found her! I usually see her once a month or so for a tint and tweeze. Couldn't recommend enough!!! read more

I'm not one to review, and I understand that with any cosmetic change there is an adjustment period to a new look, but even 7 days later I hated looking in the mirror. This also wouldn't cause me to write a review since I was the one who made the decision to tint very light eyebrows darker knowing there would be a big change, but the lack of interaction and personalization during my appointment really threw me off. I had never gotten my brows shaped or tinted before, something I tried to communicate. However, the technician never introduced herself or asked my name, she told me to sit down and then just did my brows. Intimidated by the whole situation, I went with it and trusted the professional. Exactly what I feared would happen, happened. My brows were far too dark and the shaping and size didn't even make sense for my face structure. These were details I thought we would talk through at the beginning of the appointment. "Custom blended brow tint"- did not seem so custom. I walked into my apartment and my friends automatically sat me down to reshape and fix the tint, they were also in shock any professional would let me leave her salon looking like that! The customer service was awful, not to mention the insane price. My friends are in charge of my brows from now on lol, at least they communicate with me. From what I've heard, this place is great if you are want to spend money and have had previous experiences with these services. read more

Sarah is amazing! Prior to finding this hidden gem I thought my eyebrows were good, they were nothing compared to what they are now post transformation by Sarah! I would trust her with any service due to her consistency and attention to detail. In response to a previous review, this is not a walk-in based establishment. Make an appointment in advance. She books quickly because she is talented & has a huge following. She is worth it, I promise! read more

Sarah is amazing! She is the only person I let touch my eyebrows since I found her. Her space is adorable, clean, & filled with great stuff. Sarah is so personable and fun to talk to, I always look forward to seeing her and catching up during my appointment. Don't touch your brows before you see her! I've grown mine out for a very long time and she has been able to work her magic with my natural shape. I go for the tweeze + tint and always leave happy :) read more

I came here to get some advice on my brows and a tint/shaping. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The woman did not introduce herself and barely looked up from her phone, let alone look at my brows. My brows have been thinning and I came here to get some suggestions. While I appreciate she did not take my money, I also got the impression she did not want to service me, which made me feel uncomfortable and very unwelcome. I would pass on this place based on service alone. read more

Extremely disappointed with my experience at The Brow Bar. I went in to get a lash lift, this was my first time getting one, which I shared with them. I paid $120 ($140 with tip) and my lashes stick straight out, they are not lifted at all. I honestly can't tell the difference between when I walked and when I left. I called after my appointment to share my concerns and was shocked with their complete lack of care or concern. I was told I could come back and pay for the service again and that I should 'ask for different rods' next time. They did not apologize nor offer to correct the lift (or lack there of). I ended the call by sharing that I was not comfortable going back and would be finding somewhere else to go, I was told 'that's fine'. They were very nice during my appointment, which is why I am giving them two stars instead of one. I would highly recommend staying away from this business. read more

I seem to be the only person who didn't have a stellar experience here, which makes my disappointment even stronger. I went for a brow tint and trim. The tint is way too dark. I am quite fair and came in with no makeup on; I'm surprised Sarah opted to go this dark on me, and I will be eagerly awaiting the color to fade. I even went home and applied makeup to see if the brows could be evened out with more definition, but they still are far too strong, even with a full face. The trim is fine, it looks good, but it's so subtle to the point of hardly noticing the change. My eyebrows aren't very thick or unruly so maybe my expectations were too high, but this was a really expensive service for hardly unchanged brow shape and color that makes me feel sad every time I look in the mirror. read more

Let me start by saying, Sarah West is a brow magician! I'm not blessed with very distinct brows and from what I've learned eyebrows are like the curtains to your face - they give you expression, boost and define your face so it's important to keep them up. After reaching out to Sarah for help, she came along and turned on her brow magic! During her process, she informed me of the products she was using and why. One thing she used was her natural eye and face oil. It's simple and luxurious without being too heavy. Just a few dabs and I felt like a million bucks! I was completely calm and relaxed and before I knew it, she was finished. The end result was nothing like I had ever seen - my brows went from weak to chic! Full, natural and present! After that first treatment with Sarah, I knew my brows were in good hands! I had to see her again. I've gone to her every time for brow and lash treatments and for the eye oil (can't live without the stuff). I haven't seen anyone else since. Only thing is that she has clients all over the world and not all can make it to her studio. So you have to catch her when you can! read more
