Not only are they kind and sweet, but they're good at what they do, they won't ever upcharge you or try and do something that won't come out amazing. After 2 years of DIY pandemic boxed hair dye jobs, I was in desperate need of color correction. I made an appointment with Esmeralda for single process, and she carefully looked at my hair to match it with the exact color swatch that would work to match my roots and cover up all of the grays that had sprouted from pandemic parenting stress! Aside from doing excellent work with my hair color, she does a fantastic job with cuts and blowouts. I usually hate getting my hair blow dried when I go to a salon because I feel like I'm getting violently attacked with a heat gun, but Esmeralda is not only gentle, but FAST and makes my natural pin straight hair look super shiny with nice, natural looking body. Esmeralda is now my go-to stylist for coloring and cuts at Salone Estetica. The salon itself is also really clean and everyone who works there is super kind and friendly. There's a really nice and warm community vibe with all the stylists and clients which I always appreciate at any business. It's centrally located in Winchester so it's easy to grab parking in the street for quick appointments, or you can go to the paid by plate lot by the nearest Winchester commuter rail stop to park which is about 5 min away. I get my hair done here on a regular basis, and Kim is nothing but a five star experience. She's thoughtful, funny, and does a a really professional job with my hair. I like the Aveda products and touches that this salon includes, such as the "shoulder ritual" light massage with the hair wash and scented relaxation oils. The facial I received was also a 5 star experience - the professional, friendly, and relaxing experience was WONDERFUL and I thought worth every penny. The aesthetician really takes her time to analyze your skin and explain what she's doing. I found the experience consistent with the Aveda standards I expect. My pedicure was meh, and NOT up to the Aveda standards I expect, which is one main reason why I am giving the salon itself 4 stars. If I just want my toes painted, I go to my local $15/20 place. But at a salon I want that little something extra, time and attention, and it was pretty lacking in my experience. The salon is smaller but I know they are actively expanding so I can't really judge fully on the environment but it is welcoming and clean. It's a bit busy and loud but that is kind of the case for a lot of hair salons. I love most of the Aveda products and love that they give you a little massage as part of their signature "chair ritual". I love that it's right next to that coffee shop and I can get an iced coffee to sip on while Colleen (who rocks and I will explain why in a minute) cuts my hair and my color sets. I recently went back to my natural color of blonde; it's a beautiful thing. Colleen: if you worked at a salon in Florida or Denver I would get a jetblue credit card and accumulate miles just to go and get my haircut. I am serious: you are that good. no, you are that GREAT. She does a hell of a job on my color and the cut stays looking good for weeks. I could even skip a haircut and go every 8 - 10 weeks, but I enjoy it there so much it feels good to go more often. My first trip to Salon Estetica. Kim is amazing and very friendly. She did a great job as she comes highly recommended. Reasonably priced. One thing that disappointed me was that I have to pay extra if I want to dry my hair ($42+). All the salons I have gone to have either provided me a hair dryer so I can at least partially dry it before walking out or they run the dryer so at least it's not super wet. It's not a deal breaker, though. Will still go back. I just had to make sure I will always bring a hat to cover my head since it's cold now.
