I happened to find this hair salon on Yelp and luckily I get booked with Renee immediately. She is so professional, patient, warm-hearted. I did a keratin treatment, and because I have a thick long strong Asian hair, so it usually takes more time to do treatment. Renee is so good at treating Asian hair and I was surprised that she has lots of experience with Asian hair before. My hair comes out smooth, shiny, silky and much lighter than before. Besides, The product I used which is called 'Brazilian blowout' is the best I have used ever, it doesn't have any punchy smell. I love this hair salon and would like to any Asian friend if they want to have stylish haircuts or hair treatment with modest price here. read more

I have never wanted to get my hair colored - I have been a natural golden blonde for 60+ years, and proud of my thick long blonde hair. But when the grey started coming in strong, I received a groupon for Renee at Salon de Fleur, and read recommendations of Renee as a colorist, I finally gave in and dared to have my hair colored. I was adamant - I wanted it exactly the same color as it had always been, as the ends of my hair still showed. Renee was great! Instead of using one hair coloring as many stylists do, she mixed and matched to get precisely the right golden blonde tone. The end result - I look ten years younger, and my hair still looks natural! The Salon itself isn't anything special as appearance goes, and the atmosphere can be quite loud, but Renee knows her stuff and is out to please. I've been back half a dozen times - and oh yes - I did get a great cut from her too, and very low cost. Two thumbs up! read more

I had a Groupon for a cut and highlights for something like $70+. Things that went wrong: - I pull up to a salon which is a room next to a liquor store. It is dirty and old. - I have to wait 20 minutes. - I go to use the restroom. Dirty, dark, dust covered hair products. - The hairdressers are talking smack about everyone they know. "Angie went to Floridar again. That family's got money!!" - I'm told that my services probably can't be done in one visit and I'll have to come back for the cut and I can get only the color done today. (Would have been nice to know in advance...or hey here's a thought: just make sure you make time for all the services you are offering in your Groupon which clearly states that all services must be redeemed at one time). - Am asked "You want FULL highlights?"...um, no I'd like partial even though I'm paying for a Groupon that offers full highlights. What do you think?? - Hairdresser is putting on make-up in between applications of my toner, etc. including fake blue contact lenses (really?) and falsies. Classy... - Highlights come out too light and stark. The other hairdresser just loves them (another clue that they look terrible). I ask for her to darken them, they come out a little darker but still look sort of terrible. - I'm late for my next commitment because this process took 2.5 hours. - Trying to make a second appointment (via text, her preferred method): "Hi, can I come back for the second portion of my Groupon?" "Who is this?" Um, scroll up and read literally the last 3 texts we exchanged. Second reluctant visit: - I stand in horrendous traffic because the only times she had available were in the late afternoon. - I have to get my cut that day because I'm about to get on an airplane and she is cutting my hair as well as working on another customer at the same time. - She tells me how great it will look repeatedly throughout in a way that is anything but subtle. - She leaves a little rat tail sort of thing for my stacked bob. I ask her to please cut it straight across. She refuses and angrily says "It won't look right!!" Ok. - I ask her to cut my bangs straight across because whatever she was doing wasn't working. She hurriedly cuts my bangs into two lengths making my face look like its wearing drapes (short in the middle, longer on the sides and completely in my eyes). I look insane and literally laugh and say "You want me to leave like this?" She gets pissed off and says "Well, WHAT DO YOU WANT?" I ask her to cut the hair all the same length. Bangs that are the same length all across seem like a novel concept to her. - I walk out upset and trying to keep from crying. She shouts "THANK YOU FOR THE TIP!!!!!!!!!!!" I go home, cut off the rat tail as best as I can holding a mirror, straighten my bangs for 15 minutes, call my boyfriend crying, and get on an airplane with a haircut which is disappointing and an experience that leaves a terrible taste in my mouth. With each wash, my highlights get lighter and lighter until they are back at the level where they were at first dye (too light and totally stark in comparison to my dark brown hair). When I first got to the salon and saw the place I thought - "This place isn't for me, maybe I should just walk out right now" but then I stopped myself and said "Just give it a shot - looks aren't everything!" No joke, I'm the girl who gets the worst haircut. So much so that I dread going to the hairstylist. From Beverly Hills to edgy Venice Beach to downtown Boston salons, none of these big city stylists get it right no matter how much money I throw down. So I've settled for strip mall salons in the Inland Empire, tiny no names in Somerville or Medford. Every time the cut looks awful and accentuates my round face. It's just hopeless - no one knows how to cut pin straight, Asian hair without giving me the bowl cut. I've learned to hate the word bob. Even long layers started to look like a bob on me (widest part around my cheeks). I bring photos, share pics on my phone, and ask the stylist to please make huge choppy layers around my cheekbones, but without fail that always do. The past couple of years, I've been relying on a good friend at the hospital for courtesy cuts in the MGH bathroom... Figured I'd venture out and get a "real" haircut so I purchased a groupon for Renee at Salon De Fleur and drove out to Burlington for a cut and color. Unsurprisingly (like all the other stylists) Renee suggested a bob when I asked for a modern and slimming cut. I was hesitant because Renee had curly hair and I feared that she, like all the others, had no clue how to cut Asian hair. However, she reassured me that she knew exactly how to cut the bob asymmetrical bob to give me a sleek and modern look (no more bowl cut!!!). She then spent the next 3.5 hours coloring my hair and carefully creating the blunt, choppy layers that I've only seen in magazines and TV makeover shows and gave me the BEST haircut of my life!!! Long, blunt bob that meet at my chin, and a crisp, clean line in the back. I felt like Jennifer Aniston circa 2013 with the perfect, slimming, and modern asymmetric bob. Oh, and Renee ignored phone calls from her husband to go to dinner on a Saturday night, all so that she could perfect the cut. I've never seen any stylist be this meticulous about a cut, and in the end, I felt really crummy for having gotten what by all means was a $300+ cut and color for the groupon price.... So with great hesitation, I do want to recommend Renee (hesitant because I really hope she doesn't start charging $200 for her amazing haircuts). The real test? My Santa Monica friends who routinely get $500+ haircuts by celebrity stylists actually told me that my hair finally looks decent, and was curious to know where I had it done!!! And yes, my coworkers told me how great my hair looked......few times a week for the past 4 months!!!! People even started asking me if I had lost weight, and I got ID'd more at bars... I guess the right haircut can make you look younger and thinner! I am so glad I found Renee -and that she restored my faith in bobs (and hairstylists!) I will most definitely be going back to her. It's been 4 months and I haven't touched a curling iron. Haven't even bobby pinned my hair to make my face look less round, straightened my hair around my face to get rid of the poof, or teased my hair to create a higher crown. Still, I wake up each morning, run my fingers through my hair and get compliments regularly....thank you so much Renee, for giving me the perfect, low maintenance cut!!! read more

Renee is positively the most patient hairdresser I've ever had. She is a perfectionist, which is fine by me because my hair comes out looking fantastic. I first went to Salon de Fleur because I had a Groupon and was in dire need of a good hair salon. That first visit, I cut 13 inches off of my hair and received a phenomenal A-line haircut. Although, as some other reviews state, the salon is not the most high-end looking establishment, it does not reflect the quality of Renee's work. Please for God sake don't go to this salon, a hair stylist called Renee yesterday , burnt my hair and scalp , and my I lost 1/2 of my volume , she bleached my hair without my knowledge, i went there for a full highlight and she insisted me to do toner, in spite of me telling her several times , that i have never done toner before, she just convinced me by saying there is no chemical in it and it will only do good to your hair, and she started to apply bleach to my hair, believe me I had long , thick, dark beautiful mane and she just burnt them because of her negligence , i felt the burning sensation and looked in the minor, and to my horror there were fumes coming out of my hair, and i got panicked and ran to the sink and asked to wash my hair, she kept telling nothing has happened and you don't have hair loss , when i pulled the towel off the head the towel was full of hair, and when i started to comb my hair, my hair was coming out in chunks, i got so scared i stopped combing, and i couldn't believe that she did this to me and i lost my beautiful long hair , which took years to grow . This all happened yesterday evening, and now i have a interview and several functions to attend , i just don't know what to do , my hair is now half the volume plus its so dry so dry that i cannot explain . Can any body imagine this situation when you go to get your hair done pretty and you walk like this?? Don't let the exterior fool you. So this isn't the kind of place that will offer you a cappuccino, but these ladies know what they're doing and the environment is really fun and chill. Renee is my stylist, and I have been going to her for years. She always achieves a high-end result - I tell her that she's a wizard with foil and scissors. Prices are very fair and she will take the time to listen to your requests and fashion the style to your liking. She's the first stylist in whose hands I've felt truly safe! Plus, she's such a doll.
