Great experience here! Was looking for a new local spot for a men's cut. My wife recommended Anthony David Salon as this is where she has been going and has had great cuts here by Chanel. The reviews reinforced my decision to come here also. Scheduling an appointment was quick and easy (online or by phone) and I was able to get an appointment for the following day. Ashley was my stylist and she absolutely nailed the look I asked for! I showed her a pic and described what I was looking for and she listened attentively and understood what I was asking for. She took her time and asked questions along the way which is what I like. Shows she is interested in getting you the look you want. Overall experience was great! Salon was clean and price was very reasonable considering what you get; including a shampoo and rinse at the end followed by styling. The fact that they offer healthy alternatives to color makes me very happy! Anthony is skilled and I never worry about the end result in my cut or color, always fantastic. Vibe of this salon is great, no airs, very comfortable. Careful who you get to wash your hair- you could get burning hot water, vigorously pulled hair, or most recently the girl was pushing my ears out towards my face like how you don't want them to go lol. I usually don't write bad reviews but the pathetic treatment and service that I received at this salon has forced me to write one. I purchased a Groupon coupon for hairwash, haircut and conditioning treatment . I had a 1:45 PM appointment on a Saturday afternoon. I reached there at 1:51 and was greeted by Chanel (my hair stylist) who said "I tried calling you on the phone and YOU ARE SIX MINUTES LATE". Are you kidding me? That's the worst way to treat a first time customer !!! I apologized for being late and continued with the service. And now comes the worst part. I asked Chanel whether she could show me some booklet with different hair style samples and she responded by saying "They don't have one !". Really? You are such a big name and you don't have a booklet of samples. Please fool someone else !!! I didn't want to be rude at the time and just nodded my head. The haircut was the worst that I ever had in my life. I felt that the entire service was rushed and Chanel was in no mood to give me a good haircut. The hair wash, haircut, conditioning was completed in flat 15 minutes. I got in at 1:51 PM and was out and in my car at 2:10 PM. The conditioning treatment was just a conditioning spray they used. It was sprayed after the hair wash and after the haircut. I have never seen conditioning treatment done this way. Even Great Clips does a better haircut than these guys. My hair is all messed up and not done right at all. I will need to go to another place to fix my hair now !!! I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone else and would never return to this place. Owners of the place if you care about your customers - "You need to train your employees well to treat customers with utmost respect. If I could give it a negative rating I could it -5. I've gone there three or four times now and each time has been increasingly worse. I chose different stylist and they are ALL bad. My daughter went there too and she came out crying because there was just black color applied when she requested a blue color. She had to spend extra hundred dollars to go get the color ripped out and fix it in Boston. I have gone there multiple times and I got a weird black color when I requested something else. What's their thing with black??? I think the stylist everyone there really is focused on less work for themselves than the right colors for you. I have been going to Anthony David's Salon for 4 years and while the final cut and color turned out well this time too, the customer service I experienced was terrible! There was absolutely no consultation - I asked for recommendations for highlights and she told me what highlights I had put in in 2019 and said that should be good! This was followed by the roughest treatment my hair has ever got, from foiling - where she put on the color and used my head to fold the foils, to the ice cold hair wash to the shampoo that she left in my ear, to brushing out my wet hair so roughly I am sure a lot was left in her brush, to my hair constantly getting stuck in her nail extensions while she blew dried my hair. I even had to ask her what way she planned to trim my hair after she picked up a segment to begin to cut! I am terribly disappointed in Chanel (this was the first time I tried her) and while I will go back to Anthony David's Salon because I have always been so happy with their other stylists, I will NEVER ever ask for her again. read more

I've been going to Brianna for a few years now. She has always done a beautiful job on my hair!. Today my five year daughter went to her. I was a little nervous because she hasn't had a "real hair cut" just a trim at Snip-It's (which always looked kinda suspect!) anyway...Brianna did a beautiful job!!! I love my haircut from Anthony. I have thick curly hair and have a hard time getting a haircut I like, especially one that allows me to wear my hair down easily. I got the Deva cut (modified because my hair wasn't in the best condition for the cut) and it was fantastic. I highly recommend Anthony to any curly haired person out there. I only get my hair cut once a year or so and I always feel a little anxious because often my stylist has moved on from a salon, a salon has new ownership (that happened at my old fave spot Carriage House Salon), and I just don't know what I'm going to get. I have sensitive skin, and I don't like really perfumy strong products so even a decent salon can be a horrible experience for me. I had heard about Anthony David Salon because a colleague and friend of mine had started going there for colour (which I don't do) but finally I needed a haircut and she convinced me to head out to Burlington. You'd never guess you're going to step into a beautiful salon because its kind of hidden in a tiny little shopping plaza by the Burlington High School. Anthony cut my hair and he was great! He's efficient, asked me what I wanted and gave me the exact cut I was hoping for. He used this amazing smelling (and feeling) shampoo and conditioner that left my hair feeling light and smelling so good (not overwhelming...I already mentioned my smell issues :) ) Even the receptionist was really helpful about the products, she knew them well and explained which ones would be better for me (not sales pitchy, or pushing product like some salons do) Anthony has been in the business for a long time and its his salon so I don't have to worry about losing my new stylist (until he retires...may that be a long long time from now!) read more

I am honestly confused between a 3 and 4 star rating, so I would say this is a 3.5 from me. The ambience is great, the salon is clean and parking isn't an issue. I came here using a Groupon and I felt because of that my entire experience was rushed and not treated the same way someone would be treated if they're paying the normal prices. Ashley was my stylist (she is one of the lower range stylists) and I noticed small things which were irritating to me. 1. As stated above, my hair cut was rushed. I feel it was done in like 15 min. I asked for a trim and to keep the layers, and I noticed she did not really work on my layers... she just trimmed the bottom of my hair. 2. During the blow dry she just kept blowing hot air INSIDE my ear... quite annoying and painful. I don't think one should be treated different and rushed just because of having a Groupon. I'd imagine you advertise your salon on Groupon to get new customers and give them a great experience... but nope! That wasn't the case. So this review is waaaaay overdue, but I finally did get around to it, because I do not want others to go through the same pains as I did. I moved to MA and had to find a new stylist. Great reviews in combination with Valentine's day special attracted me to Anthony Davis. The salon is nicely decorated. I got booked with Jackie for cut and highlights (and glaze, which was complimentary with the deal). She seemed to be in foul mood, and made no attempt to find the roots of previous highlights, just slapped on new highlights on random sections of my long hair. (Since then I've been to a few other stylists, and all of them apply highlights to random hair strands without picking out previously highlighted ones. After a period of time this results in highlights flooding the hair and becoming the main color, as opposed to staying the highlights. In contrast, my stylist in Canada used to give me perfect continuous streaks for 7 years, so I know it can be done! If anyone knows a stylist with such talents here, please do let me know!!!) After washing my hair and applying the glaze for only a few minutes, Jackie tore half my hair out with hasty and rough comb strokes. My request to go mor gently went unheard. When someone has long hair, you DO NOT start brushing from top down, but rather begin at the bottom, and gradually move higher up as the hair gets untangled. Do I really need to teach that to a stylist?! I asked Jackie to cut off about 2 inches. Instead, she cut off 3/4 of an inch at most, and cut my hair all at once without separating it into layers! This cutting corners approach was downright insulting. Come on, I had my hair cut properly for years, so I know how it should be done! Needless to say the bottom of my hair was uneven. She rushed through the blowdry, ripping more hair out. I don't think she even said bye to me. When paying for the service at the front desk to unfriendly and apathetic receptionist, I was so tempted to leave only $1 as a tip, but my better Canadian manners overcame the protesting screams of my violated scalp. This review actually makes me really upset. There are few things worse in life than wasting your money, but I think getting a really awful hair cut is definitely one of them. If you're like me and have both? Well... I'm seriously angry. I was visiting my parents in Burlington (I live in San Diego now) and went to get my hair cut. It had been way too long and I finally had time to make myself look good. I knew I wanted a cut I'd had in the not-too-distant past, so I found it in one of the style books while I waited. Everyone was very nice. I gave Jackie the photo and she set off to work. When she was done, I was happy. Not thrilled, but happy enough I guess. I'm polite for the most part, and didn't want to raise a stink. Plus, a lot of the time, stylists know what is best for your hair better than you do. It was like a soccer mom cut, and I don't have any kids. The photo I chose was sleek and edgy and awesome. Mine? Ugh. I can't convince myself that it's a good cut or that I like it anymore. Now that I'm home and the reality of the situation has really hit me, I'm really mad. I'm not a stylist, and it looked okay when she styled it, but now it looks awful. That cut, when done correctly, looked fantastic when I did it. So not only does my hair look terrible, but I will be out double the money when I go crawling back to my regular stylist (who I adore and who can cut my hair perfectly in 20 minutes or less) and tell her I cheated on her with someone who didn't know what they were doing. I'm going to reiterate again : it's not a LITTLE different than the photo, it's a completely different cut. Well, at least I won't ever cheat on my stylist again, right? read more

White tiger striped highlights are not my thing. Neither is paying twice for a one time job. They took me right away a second time to glaze and add extra highlights to the ashen, over-processed color and made me pay for their re-correction. The additional chunky highlights were not blended at all. Long story, I got my hair done three times--disaster. This is what happens when you use Anthony David groupon, discounts, or work with a 3-yr experienced stylist. Eventually, I went to a professional stylist who has owned his shop for over 21years. I recommend him over this place. Oh, the pursuit of happiness. Worst part was that the stylist blamed her over-processing job on my hair type. I was shocked, I thought this place was known for it's coloring theory. Never again. Plus side was that everyone was nice and I love the shape of my haircut. I really really liked Brianna too. I'm more so disappointed in the owner for not doing re-corrections himself and for charging customers for his salon's re-corrections. Poor choice on his part. We continue to disagree. read more

Emailed hair stylists to get their recommendations...dear god I felt insane and it needed to stop. Enter Anthony David Salon, and Exit my hair research OCD. After reading through all of these other positive reviews, I took the leap and visited this salon for a cut and color--I. COULD. NOT. BE. HAPPIER. If I could have climbed to the roof of the Burlington Mall with a megaphone to shout my praises after my appointment, I would have. Seriously. The salon itself is gorgeously designed--minimal, modern, sleek, spotless-- yet also incredibly comfortable and unpretentious. While waiting for color to process, the salon chairs are equipped with massagers and a range of new magazines. At the salon I witnessed many women walking in, worn down from the terrible snowy weather and leaving with fabulous hair and smiles. Jackie and Anthony were the stylists working that day. They were both extremely nice, down to earth and took time to listen, understand and advise their clients--so important and appreciated! Jackie has a few promotions running that you should jump on if you are looking for a beautiful cut, at a rate that I would consider to be a steal for how talented she is. Anthony has years of experience in the industry and has won many awards. What most impressed me about him is that he also studied art and still keeps up with his painting. Why does this matter? Artists understand color, shape, form, design, creativity and precision--all the makings of a gorgeous sculpture, or conversely a stunning hair cut. The Salon even has its own line of shampoo and conditioner that left my fine hair full of volume, very soft, shiny and smelling great! I left the salon with sparkling, NATURAL highlights that made my hair feel and appear healthy and shiny. I would give them 6 stars, if I could! I was married in Burlington 2 weeks ago, and although I grew up 20 minutes from there, the town outside of the mall was a mystery to me. I had no idea where to go for hair, makeup, or nails. I began searching on Yelp and asking for quotes for 5 bridesmaids and my own hair. Some of the salons replied with prices that were just outrageous, considering this is not Newbury Street. $1000 for 5 blowouts and an updo? Oh and they said we could bring our own champagne if we wanted! Gee, thanks... Enter Anthony David. I called and spoke with the receptionist, who was extremely helpful and friendly. She explained that Kim would call me back, as she is the resident updo expert. Kim called me the next day, and sounded so fantastic on the phone, that I went in for a trial SIX months before my actual wedding. I loved everything about the salon. It's beautiful, everyone was super nice, and it's in the weirdest strip mall ever. Anyway, on the day of my wedding, my bridesmaids, my mom and me caravaned over to the salon and were welcomed with bagels, cream cheese, coffee and mimosas! So unnecessary after our giant breakfast at the hotel...but we made sure to eat and drink everything anyway :) Then the hair started. Kim and Jackie gave my girls the BEST blowouts I have ever seen. Seriously. The girls looked like movie stars! Exactly what I had envisioned. Then Kim started on my updo. I gave her the picture of Jessica Alba that I had been coveting, and I can honestly say that my hair was better than Jessica's. Unbelievable. Also, all of us still looked fabulous at the end of the night following 3 hours of dancing (and sweating...). Had a great first visit here!! I had bought a Groupon, for a partial foil, cut and blow-dry but came in with a photo that I already knew would require more work. Chanel was great at really working to help me get the color I wanted and consoling with Anthony. They let me know exactly what they were going to do to get the color I wanted and gave me two options. I was also still able to use my Groupon and they just charged me more for the full foil and glaze. I really appreciated their high standard of care of the outcome and what my expectation of the outcome was. I felt welcomed here and don't understand the negative comments on here. Went to Anthony David after purchasing an eversave for $40 for a gloss treatment, wash, cut & style. My appointment was with Jackie. Lots of parking and VERY clean salon. Everything is open. I arrived 15 minutes early and was taken right away. I had a wash and then the gloss treatment and at the dryers they have all the good mags, a back massage machine and an iPad! 15 minutes flew by with all of that. Jackie then came to get me for the rinse and cut. She was super nice and friendly. I was honest with her and said I hadn't had my hair cut in almost 2 years. She couldn't believe it. But she suggested a cut that if I didn't come back for another 2 years would be easy to maintain. I liked that she wasn't trying to make it so I had to come back over and over again. Jackie was very personable and I felt that I was in great hands. As she was styling my hair she was telling me what she was doing and giving me tips for doing it at home. I just moved to the Boston area and I got my hair cut for the first time at Anthony David Salon today, after reading such rave reviews on this site. My stylist was Jackie. The price for a haircut (wash and dry included) was $40, not the $45 that was listed on the website. I left a $10 tip, because she was fantastic. I have long hair, but tend to go a few months between cuts, so my ends were extremely damaged. I knew I wanted to get a few inches off, but I wasn't sure what else I wanted. Jackie warmly welcomed me right at the front desk, and after sitting me down, we were able to talk out the style I was looking for but couldn't quite articulate. She really listened to everything I said (I was thinking about bangs, taking maybe three to four inches off, long layers) and gave her suggestions, and then we agreed upon my cut. While she was cutting, she was explaining what she was doing and how I should try to style it at home. I loved my end result. Absolutely love it. And everyone else in the salon seemed really happy with their cuts and styles as well. There was a bride getting her hair done for her wedding later today and her hair looked stunning. Anthony was finishing up coloring a woman's hair when I walked in, and it looked great. I already booked my next appointment with Jackie in two months. This time, I'd like to color my hair too. She was able to talk this out with me as well, and we agreed upon caramel highlights for my raven black hair. I'm really excited to go back. I was basically a walk-in, just looking for a trim. I couldn't be happier with my results! First- the atmosphere of the place was wonderful. When I walked in, they immediately offered to take my coat and get me a coffee or water. I was given a warm robe to cover my clothes. Michelle (who took care of me) met me at the counter and walked me over to her station. I honestly only have good things to say about her! She talked me through everything I wanted, was patient as I showed her 15 different Pinterest pictures since I couldn't describe exactly what I wanted done with my bangs, and explained how I could easily style my hair at home, similar to what she was doing. After an intense blow dry/styling session (I have very long thick hair) I was expecting a decent charge for the wash, cut and style. At the counter I was pleasantly surprised when it came to $35 TOTAL!! I walked out with perfectly cut bangs, a good length, and a lot less weight. I walked in for a trim a couple months ago and I'm still not sure what kind of magic she worked. I spend my customary 5 minutes blow drying in the morning but somehow my hair looks .. good? If you are coming here for highlights Chanel is my go to stylist there and goes above and beyond with service. Majority of the time I let her take the lead on what to do with my hair and it always comes out looking amazing. I have been using her since I moved to the area about 3 years ago and I have never walked out of an appointment with her disappointed. I highly recommended this salon, the talent is unbelievable and the owner is always present and usually working on the floor right along side his staff. I had a groupon and was a bit nervous because of reviews I had read regarding groupons at this salon. I was so pleasantly surprised! Brianna was my colorist and was amazing. Did a great job with the color and I love the cut. My hair feels so healthy!! I made an appt to return in 6 weeks and will pay full price gladly for finding someone I am happy with!!! read more
