If I could give this salon 0 stars, I would.
I have been going to this salon for over a year. I have always gotten great service, enjoyed the salon, and the employees have been very receptive to what length and shape I ask for. I have loved this salon ever since I started going regularly.
I just went again this week to get my nails done again. I have always gotten a dip manicure, and this time was no exception. I asked for my nails to be squoval per the guide at the station and cut down just a bit so that my nail came to the end of my finger. Instead, I got a result that was unevenly shaped round nails, bumps, uneven coloring, edges that were not sanded down, and nails that were so short they hurt because they were cut to/past the start of my nail bed.
I called the next day about fixing them, and was able to make an appointment for the following day. I was optimistic about this, as I had always had great experiences at this salon. I expressed my concerns and thought they were heard before going back to start my appointment. I asked if they could redo them and put tips on since they were now so short or refund my money. She said she could redo them, but when I asked again about tips to put on to make them return to the length I asked for, I was ignored. I had the same nail tech and she did the same thing as previously. She ignored me when I asked about making them squoval as I had originally asked, and only spoke to me when she asked if I thought they were good enough so that I wouldn't have any complaints to the manager at the front. My nails are still unevenly round in shape, and they hurt more than ever (I ended up taking an OTC pain killer medication after the service to try and stop them from hurting). She knew that they were already so short, however she kept filing them as if they had been grown out for 2 weeks. She cut into my cuticles/skin so they stung when she put the activation liquid on, and didn't wait long enough for one coat to dry before putting the top coat on so they came out bumpy and unfinished. I went back up to the front and she asked another employee to fix a few, but they still aren't correct by a long shot.
The definition of insanity is repeatedly having the same inputs and expecting a different output, and this experience is just that. With the same nail tech, no change in their understanding, and still a poor result, it is clear that this is insanity. I was so mad I couldn't keep arguing with people who were annoyed with me and didn't hear what I had to say, so I just had to leave after a second failed attempt at a simple dip manicure. read more
