I have gotten my hair done a few times at this Salon by Jaklene and I love it. Jaklene has cut and colored my hair and every time I leave, I feel that she really captured what I expressed to her what I wanted. Jaklene does a really good job explaining what she's going to do before she starts doing it. Also, she's super friendly and nice. Lastly, Jaklene is very understanding and flexible with her schedule if something comes up. It happened once where the date we picked to color my hair I now longer could make it so, we planned for another date and she was wonderful about it and handled it very professionally. I attached some pictures to show the work she has done. Also, I convinced my boyfriend to start going to her instead of this other place he was going to. I went to this salon about three months ago, but forgot to leave a review now that I'm looking for another salon to get a haircut. My stylist was nicole, she was nice but she didn't do much with my hair. She washed my hair, cut my hair, and that was it. She didn't even style or even BLOW DRY! I left the salon with wet hair. And she told me "after it air dries and you see something that needs to be fixed, just come in and I'll fix it". Hello salon/ stylist searchers- So a week ago I went to a salon in El Cajon (won't mention the name or person who botched my hair) I have long blond course hair which is on the thick side and needed a lot of texturizing and shaping. I called several salons and just went in by chance. I was assigned to a stylist who did not give me the hair cut I requested even when i had shown her pictures and wanted the style as a Butterfly/ or Wolf cut. I was very unhappy and dissatisfied with the results. Mind you this is a reputable salon but not known for the one of the BEST Salons in El Cajon. Anyway the following week I did more research and came across Thrive and read reviews and also was glad they were voted one of the TOP salons in El Cajon and Santee! I needed my hair cut fixed so bad. I called the salon and spoke to the owner and made an appointment and was glad they had an opening the same day and was assigned to SOPHY- God bless her she gave me the best haircut ever and was able to totally fix my previous unsatisfactory cut I had before. There is no one to be held accountable when something goes wrong. They do not give refunds but will offer the same lady to try and do your hair again. Why in the world would anyone want to have the same person redo their hair that didn't get it right the first time? I went in for a color weave to help blend in some of my gray, (185.00 is what she charges) her name is Danielle. She was 25 minutes late for our appointment, she put color on my neck so thick it was burning! After three hours in the salon I literally came out in tears. I was absolutely exhausted from the whole ordeal and just wanted to leave, so I paid, came home and this is what I saw (pic attached) not only was there no color applied to my hair but it left it a brassy splotchy mess! It looks like I needed to go to the salon instead of just coming from one. I asked for a refund but none was given. Short story: OUTRAGEOUS PRICES for barely average service. I've been looking for a nice salon for a while, and unfortunately have had to accept that as long as I'm living here, I'll just have to cut my own hair... this salon is okay at best, although I guess compared to other hair places here it's pretty fancy. But still, they charge outrageous prices for okay cuts, and not-so-great color. Not to mention the color fades quickly and seems to damage hair more. It was nothing special, it was Someone washing your hair conditioning your hair and putting you under a heater for 15 minutes Which I could have done myself at home without paying $40 plus tip. I should have called the salon and find out what this deep conditioning entails, I was hoping for some head massage, it was a total waste of money for me.
