I have not had my hair done in almost 2 years and it was a hot mess! I was looking on Groupon early this afternoon and came across Salon Sedona. They were so wonderful and fit me right in for a cut, color and highlights! I am under the dryer right now but will be sure to post the after pictures because I know Courtney will do an amazing job! Courtney is not only the sweetest girl but she is so talented and actually took the time to listen to me and give me her honesty opinions and thoughts about what I should do. The salon was a bit smaller than I expected but it was decorated stylish. My hair dresser was Brittney. I used a groupon to get a haircut, conditioning, blow dry, and style with single-process color. I had a extra $40 charge because I had long hair and it would take a lot of developer to the color I wanted . I understand the extra $40 but my hair did not turn the brown color that I wanted. It was light brown at the top and everywhere else looked black or dark brown. At the salon, I thought it was just the light, but after I got home it looked very strange. However, some pro's about Brittney is that she was extremely knowledgable about hair. She explained everything that was going to happen to my hair in detail, but I wish she simplified it for me a little. Her shampooing skills were amazing. I felt super relaxed. That was my favorite part of my hair experience. Brittney also spent a lot of time styling and blowdrying my hair. Every time i asked her to trim something she did it. My hair cut looked really nice afterwards but I asked her to do a v-layered. She told me she did a slight layered V but it was actually a U. I wished I asked her to make more of a V. My hair color was definitely not worth it. Overall, I had an okay experience. Not the best but not bad just a-ok. read more

I've now been Melissa's client at Salon Sedona for 3 years and I'm still very happy with her and the salon. Earlier this year they updated the decor and it's so very cute inside! My only issue was that the shampoo sinks/chairs always hurt my neck, but when I finally told Melissa about this problem she solved it by putting an extra towel between my neck/head and the bowl. It's been awesome ever since. I have never had anyone but Melissa do my hair, so I'm only speaking to what she's done for me, but I'm happy. Oh, and I did get that Brazilian blowout right before my wedding and it was AMAZING. I have kinky, yet straight, hair that never wants to lie properly. I felt like I spent for-freaking-ever blowing it dry only to not be pleased with the results until after I'd gotten the blowout. My hair was so super soft, it was a breeze to blow dry in the morning and I absolutely loved everything about it (except the price!). WOW!!! I am completely blown away, I called the day off to ask for an appointment to get an ombré on my hair. The owner asked me to hold just for a few seconds and then confirmed I could come in at 4:30 the same day. From the moment I walked into this salon I felt so welcomed! Incredible!!! Olga (I will be going back for sure!!!) helped me through understanding the process as it was my first time and explained the steps and how long it would take! After explaining it would be about 5 hours for the entire process, I was a bit down because I didn't really have another time to come without my kids as my husband works! Olga took it upon herself to stay late with me and my daughter who came with me! She stayed 4 hours after closing to help me achieve actually what I wanted. All while accommodating my daughter and keeping her busy (playing hide and seek, talking to her, asking questions, letting her help)! She then went to let us out after paying and saw that it was down pouring and went and grabbed an umbrella to walk us to our car! What an incredible woman Olga is and we are so excited and ecstatic that we found this amazing salon so close to home!!! We truly can't wait to come again. read more

I don't like writing bad reviews, but I thought I should say something about my sad experience at Sedona. Partly, it was my fault, I used a Groupon to get a haircut - huge mistake. Ladies, if you don't want to have a bad hair day, don't use Groupon to save money. You won't save much, but it will screw your day and even a month. Honestly, I didn't even buy a Groupon, I just showed it to a hairstylist thinking to save money for her since they pay 40% to Groupon. I tried to be nice, which wasn't appreciated anyways..... not even 'Thank you.' Anyways, Courtney was nice, and young, which kind of worried me when I sat in her chair. I explained what I want with pictures and she started the work! I requested an option with highlights and a haircut. In the middle of the session, I started worried about my look, really worried, but I let her finish anyway, I didn't want to upset her. She seems to have just finished school, if any, and had, frankly, no idea what she was doing, especially when she cut my hair. A long story short. My tears burst from my eyes I just wanted to run from that place as far as I could! My point is, that the owner (not the girl, she was too young to understand that ) should have told me about her inexperienced employee, at least I would have had a choice to go with someone else. Now my hair is burned and I still hear my husband laugh when he saw me after my unfortunate trip. I have to wear a hat till found someone else to fix it. I ended up paying $230( $110 Groupon price $95 +$15 tip, yes, I'm stupid, and $120 with tip to fix my hair). I hope I've learned my lesson and helped others not make the same mistake. Wow! I just logged in to send yet another referral to a friend for Carie/Salon Sedona and cannot say enough great things about Carie as a stylist, owner, and professional. I have been going to Carie/Salon Sedona for 9.5 years and could not be happier. She is always so flexible in trying new things with my color and style and I'm always so happy with the results! I work with and travel throughout the country and have regularly received multiple compliments on my color/cut/style! I actually found Carie via Yelp 9.5 years ago and had to go to her from all the reviews that she is "best in the business for blondes" and could not agree more! I have never looked back and look forward to each visit with Carie as well as "going grey" with her sometime in (hopefully the very FAR) future! She is the BEST. The team at Salon Sedona are all independent professionals and manage their own clients, booking, check in and check out. Someone always looks out when you arrive to welcome and say hello, but know there is no "front desk person" like with other salons. The skill level is extremely high, pricing is quite reasonable, and the skill level exceeds anywhere I've seen in the North Fulton/Gwinnett area. I would not recommend this salon based on their customer service. They are not responsive and do not respond to text messages or voicemail messages. I tried for several days to set up an appointment and never got a single response or call back so I gave up. I had heard good things about Salon Sedona so when I saw a LivingSocial deal to pay ($29 for $80 to spend on salon services) I thought I'd try it. I was able to book a haircut and blowout appt for early evening which I loved because my schedule is crazy. Olga was very nice but seemed in hurry to get out which shook my confidence a bit. She reassured me of how good she was and asked me to trust her and went to work. The haircut was okay. She gave me the cut I wanted although a bit more extreme than I would have liked. But I figured that communication would improve and at that point I'd be willing to book with her again. However, when it came time to style my hair she simply did not want to take the time. I am blessed with luxurious thick hair (between med and long) which takes some time to dry to make it look its best. Olga was taking all sorts of shortcuts and when I asked her about it she said she couldn't invest that much time for a Living Social deal. She simply was not willing to take the time to style it properly and even charged me $15 above what the deal outlined. Olga would be fine as a men's stylist but I would not recommend Olga as a woman stylist. I think Olga is a competent hair cutter but that's only half of the job. I felt that she wanted to do the bare minimum and she was not going to take direction from me. I would not go to her again. read more

I found a deal on amazon local for this place so I decided to give the salon a try since the reviews are good and also because the last hair salon deal that I bought from amazon local was a total hit! I showed up for my 1pm appointment today and was seated on time. Allie was my stylist. She seemed nice but is not very personable. While getting my hair shampooed I noticed a lady sitting under the hair dryer with a beverage by her side. Not once was I offered a beverage. The shampoo process took awhile because something was wrong with the sink. I was seated back in the chair at 1:15pm and my cut was done at 1:40pm. This struck me as kinda odd. Never have I ever had a haircut go by that quick! Either Allie was a pro or my hair was a hot mess. It was the latter. My last haircut took almost 2 hours, which seems like a long time but I was extremely happy with the end results (check out my review for Revival Salon). When Allie finished, she asked me if everything looked ok. She didnt even give me a mirror to check out the back, I had to ask her for it. Since my hair is dark and I was wearing a black top, I couldn't see how uneven my cut was until I got home tonight! It's a choppy, uneven hot mess! I still have some credit left from my amazon deal but after today's experience, I don't even want to go back! **3/7/12** Spoke with the owner of the salon today and she's having me come back to have my hair fixed. Awful experience with Chieree Flanagan at Salon Sedona 4300 Pleasant Hill Road Duluth, GA 1. I arrived to my apt and the stylist asked if I was getting full highlights, and I said yes. Then she ran off to the back to get supplies, I had to ask her if we could talk about what all I wanted to make sure we were on the same page and if she would please look at my pictures before moving forward. She was annoyed and in a huge hurry. So she reluctantly looked at my pictures. I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted (layers) and the color I wanted and told her I wanted platinum highlights. Ash and white, not yellow or brassy. 2. She foiled me, and I mentioned to her that since this was a groupon, could I please get a style added to my treatment, that I would pay extra. And she was so upset, she said "They did not tell me this was a groupon" and rolled her eyes. 3. She put me under the dryer for 5 mins and I asked her to please check a foil in the back as my hair is stubborn, and she said she did it correctly and checked the last foil. But I explained that the last foil she did was the very front, little wispies and my stubborn hair is in the back of my crown. She said it was platinum and not to worry. She would NOT look at the back of my head. 4. So she rinsed me, added toner etc. I went to the chair and I told her this was not light enough and did not look like the picture. She said it would be perfect after it was blown out and dry. So after it was dry, I got up and my hair was mousy brown, no lie. It had tiny flickers here and there, you can ask the stylist next to me. (Older lady, very nice to her customers) So I asked her if this honestly looked like the picture and she said that I did NOT show her that picture! She said I was not clear that I wanted such extreme highlights. I was shocked and my stylist was furious. I could not believe that she was bold face lying to me. I almost walked out, but I asked her what should I do. She then said she would have to re-do it, and went to get more supplies. 5. She did my crown and my crown only. She did it very chunky which I really do like, but the entire bottom half of my hair has no highlights. I paid for full highlights. And then she cut my hair, and I asked her to not cut it according to my part, because then the other side is too long and will not curl up. She did not cut it in good layers. 6. When I went to check out, she complained to me about how she was going to have to be in traffic since we ran so late. All in all, it was a horrible experience and I guarantee the other stylist working that time saw all of this and was embarrassed. I will not go to Salon Sedona again, even if the owner was kind when making the appt and the other stylist was also great with her customers. It is just not worth the risk. read more

I called and got a same day appointment for the afternoon at salon sedona w an appt w Chieree. Ive never been here before. Came in with long damaged hair that was starting to break off around shoulder length. I trusted her to do what she thought was best and im so happy i did. My cut is now shoulder length but is so cute! I never thought i would like short hair but she made it work. Also all the ladies are so spunky and full of life, very refreshing, especially Chieree. The first time i found this salon was through a Groupon deal that i found, Chiree did my hair the first time , she did a good job and took her time, i liked the color and how well she blew dry my hair. I even referred a couple of friends to her after they liked my hair color . 4-5 months go by and it's time for a salon visit again ,so my husband decided to treat me with a gift card through Groupon. When he asked me if I prefer a specific salon , I mentioned Sedona. I called Chiree and scheduled an appointment.I went their, and initially she greeted me with excitement, but as soon as I told her about the gift card through Groupon , she said you can't use it because you are not a new customer anymore, I had no idea about this rule, so I explained to her that it was a gift from my husband. She said no I can't accept it and that they won't pay her! Anyway I drove 40 min to get to the salon so I decided to do it anyway, but I was extremely frustrated from the way she handled the situation! She also refused to offer any discount or accommodation and. From that point on, the experience went downhill. It took her about 1 hour to finish the highlights! She said she can't blow dry my hair because she had a finger injury , and she didn't use any product on my hair to eliminate the frizz after using the highlighting product! My hair was frizzy, and the color wasn't the result that I got the first time. The other clients were enjoying their service and being taken care of while i have been treated unprofessionally. She was rushing the whole procedure with a poor outcome! I made it clear to her that it wasn't the price that bothered me, and that it was how poorly she handled the situation which was the example of exactly how you shouldn't react to your client no matter what was the situation is! Just moved to the Atlanta area from being stationed in Texas. Finally back home!! I had a appointment with Allie. She was very sweet and found out through our converstations that we were in the same places! The manager Carrie I believe was her name, helped me get the appointment as quick as possible and for a reasonable price. She went the extra mile in helping me out due to little time to get it done for Savannah. She was very helpful and kind hearted! Allie did a great job on my hair! I love the new color!!!! I have been going to Salon Sedona for several years and always leave pleased. My stylist,Olga Kane is friendly and knowlegeable. She is always accomodating and tries to get me an appointment quickly when I need it. I usually get a color touch up and wash and blow dry and Olga is able to match the color perfectly, and my hair isn't easy!!
